So enjoy how Davide is not only superb soloist but conductor and extra cellist. Yes lovely to see and hear his sister Sonia always... As much as the rest of this energetic and outstanding chamber group!!!🙏🏽💛Wish D&S would play more concerti together. And wish Davide was posting more of his independent you tube playing which is sorely missed!
He doesn't kill the quiet moments by too quiet playing. His sounds are full of life.

We were there in Venice during this week - 14 Sept 2011 and went to the performance of The Four Seasons, been 6 times in total. Davide is a master.

Davide, when you play this concerto the cello speaks, it speaks Vivaldi's music, and so eloquently, so passionately! I can only say that it is deeply moving to hear such a beautiful, heartfelt, deeply involved and involving interpretation! Bravo!!

What a marvelous interpretation. many soloists play Vivaldi very fast, to show their technical skills. It seems that they consider Vivaldi's cello works a milestone towards the 19th century concerts. Vivaldi is a nothing but an etude. Not here.Davide plays fast, but his way of playing marks Vivaldi a destination, not a milestone. A small orchestra, playing the tutti part also and you can feel his devotion and passion for Vivaldi's not for showing of his skills... Just a very good Interpretation .

Would Interpreti Veneziani consider adding an Archiliuto? I wonder if such an addition would add a bit of "spice" to the sound, or would it detract? I do not know.
I love Vivaldi cello concertos. I wonder if this was originally intended for a violoncello piccolo? I.e. One with an added high e string.

Dave, compre recientemente una version urtext de este concierto, e existe en signo de pregunta, si realmente vivaldi lo escribio para un cello de 4 o de 5 cuerdas. fue solo un comentario, la ejecucion de este concierto por Davide es perfecta, con algunas ideas moderno-antiguas sobre la interpretacion barrroca, que es muy de mi agrado, sin dudas, lo tocaría, exactamente así, talvez un poco diferente, pero así como esta lo hace muy bien. No fue una critica sino un comentario..

este concierto fue escrito originalmente para cello piccollo de 5 cuerdas....no existita el capotasto en la epoca de vivaldi, solo despues de boccerini, es todo mas agudo, hasta usando clave de sol en muchos pasajes, lo que indica que fue escrito para la cuerda mi aguda..
