Yes. It looks like they outsourced the fortune writing to A.I. or to someone who doesn't know English very well. "You could fall for some sticks today" (in Lisa's "fortune") literally makes no sense. Jisoo's "fortune" sounds like it was copied from a 1950s joke book.
I can say that the only time I ever had fortune cookies in a Chinese restaurant in Asia...was at a Chinese restaurant franchise that was a company based in America. None of the traditional Chinese restaurants based in Asia and no independent Chinese restaurant I've been to in Asia ever provided fortune cookies.
Hot Pot has many forms and and each has its own beginnings. While some may say its a Korean invention, records show that it started in China. Hot pot is a Chinese cooking method where different types of food stuffs and ingredients are placed in a large pot of simmering soup broth at the dinner table. - Wikipedia
In Korea, it's actually called "hwou gwou" (훠궈) (based on Chinese pronunciation), so it seems that, in Korea, it's actually attributed to a Chinese style of cooking. The Chinese characters are 火锅 (simplified form) and 火鍋 (traditional form). Korean pronunciation of those characters is "hwa gwa". Also, most Korean sources say that it is a type of Szechuan cuisine. It, and a similar type of meal called "maratang" are very popular in Korea these days, so maybe that's why some people think it's a Korean dish. I don't think many Koreans regard it as a Korean invention.
@@TEAM__POSEID0N I didn’t mean to imply that Koreans thought it was Korean in origin… I was merely stating how things seem to easily get lost cross culture.
Lisa and Jisoo are such a hilarious comedy duo. If they ever get enough time, they should make a comedy movie together. Sort of like a road-trip movie. There was a comedy movie called "Dumb and Dumber" (starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels). If Lisa and Jisoo did a comedy movie, the best title would be "Cute and Cuter" (and they take turns in the "cute" and "cuter" roles).
That was one of the weirdest fortune cookies telling I’ve ever heard 😂

Thank you!! Yup! 💪
It’s not that Chinese buffets are American. But fortune cookies are. Fortune cookies were invented in California.
