Game Description: The First Descendant is a next-generation third-person coop action RPG looter shooter featuring high-quality graphics created in Unreal Engine 5.

Early Unreal Engine games are going to be more like tech demos rather than fully fleshed-out games, especially when it comes to enemy AI.
This is why the original Halo will always be my favorite shooter of all time because the AI was ahead of its time, the enemies would actually think and attack in a multitude of ways. It was truly amazing. I haven't played a shooter that matches Halo's AI and developers spend more time on graphics than making their enemies attack in a high-level strategic manner.
The First Descendent looks to be another shooter with pretty graphics but very shallow enemy AI
agree! plus all UE games look the same!! there is no soul on these games
The AI enemies are my biggest criticism from watching streams they behave like cannon fodder. Hopefully Nexon realizes this is a major area of improvement.
Really good enemy AI is one of the reasons I enjoy The Division games because they make battles interesting.
every halo game was like that, that is why is worth to play, storywise and demanding enemies on heroic difficulty
@@Killerking90X Agree! The UE5 games I've seen all look bland and mushy. I tried Immortals Of Aveum and it was one of the worst looking/playing games I'ver tried. Games from 2012 like Bordlerlands 2 look and play way better with way better characters and story too.
Her animation is probably running at 30FPS ( something seen in Diablo IV for example ) to ensure that the performance won't drop significantly.
So far I’m really having an amazing time especially with friends .
It sucks because I just finished destiny 2 , beat the raid/uninstalled it and not looking back .
Then out of nowhere my friend says bruh check out this game ….now I’m reeled back in to the looter shooters just when I thought i was gonna take a break 😢
That's great Performance mode. ( EVEN 120 FPS ON THIS ) LOOKS Insane, for 120fps or 60 fps. Great steadiness+gfx.

I've been anticipating the release of the First Descendant for a long time and its finally here! The weapons, abilities, bosses, fast paced combat and cool sci-fi theme all give good initial impressions. This game could easily be my next game to grind.
I'm looking forward to diving in deeper with the streams

Sky, have you played UT3? (Unreal Tournament 3) just asking since the fact that this game is on the UE engine sparked that random thought about the game. First and best game I’ve ever played with bots while I had dial-up and couldn’t play COD online with everyone haha. this game looks like it could be promising, though. A really unique game to be on the F2P list of games

I find that "balanced + raytracing" is the best for looks and performance.

I wasn’t able to play yesterday due to server overload or connection issues. But I finally got it going today and considering it’s on game pass and I got it free😂. I’m not complaining. Played for about 30 mins and I’m thoroughly entertained. XBOX X
On Xbox SX looks and runs very good in balanced mod. Push SHARPENING in the display menu to 8-9, the graphics will be MUCH better and sharper!
Xbox series s definitely not holding back, if you got a 120hz tv , this game on the s can run 70+fps in Fidelity mode 1440p !!! Proof developers are using S as an excuse to be lazy. I will support this game!
The Series S being better than a PS4 or Xone doesn't mean it isn't holding back the premium offerings. It also doesn't hit 70fps. Frame generation actually adds latency, something you don't want in a shooter.
As a business, not wanting to waste resources to make your product work well on inferior hardware is smart, not lazy. Quit defending a budget box with questionable design choices.
@@mikew1080 runs pretty smooth for me and I am 5 hours in,no lag or crashing issues.
@RaidSouls I never discussed how smooth it ran, whether it crashes, or whether you can perceive the additional latency added by framegen. Not sure why your response isn't tied to points that weren't brought up.

@@frankstefan3201 download the PS4 verison and enable performance mode and that verison is almost running locked 60fps. The graphics are slightly worse and haptic feedback is a little weaker but it's a good solution for now. All progress is synced across both verisons aswell 👍

Bruh I was playing the tutorial almost done with it and it kick me out saying something of about the connection and now it won't let me play keep saying game login failed can't connect to the server but their nothing wrong with my Internet??? What do I do I'm on xbox series x???
Game looks good and runs good. There will be fixes and tweaks. Gamers need to relax and have fun. Problem with modern gamers is that they have completely lost the plot.

I’d probably buy it and play through if it was a single player focused, traditional game.

The gameplay looks pretty generic, and there really isn't a lot of environmental detail despite being UE5. Other than having nice-looking characters, I don't really see much to get excited about with this game; and that's not even considering all the microtransaction mechanics.

I play it on Xbox and it doesn't run at 120, rather it seems like 15 fps very slow
Performance mode, turn on frame gen. It's not 120fps but goes beyond the 60fps range.
You also have to have a tv or monitor thats HDMI 2.1 if you want 4k at 120

It's a coop shooter, don't believe it has PVP so it probably isn't.
(sorry need to say this) XSX = 60.000000 Allen wake 2.. .PS5 = 45-50 FPS and DIPS consistently and HITCHES when it drops 10+ FPS... XSX doesn't drop even 1 full FPS..
I DON'T WANT TO HEAR PS5 > XSX POWER EVER AGAIN.. ANYBODY that understands PCs.. and this is the 10th BIG GAME in a row past 18 months. XSX > 30% 40% FPS POTENTIAL HIGHER... that means ITS MORE POWERFUL JUST DEVS had to use.
By the way UE does have SOMETIMES slow rendering objects, especially 4x zooming cutscenes. BUT XSX in the 4x zoom in cutscene.. that wasn't THAT noticeable, if you didn't mention it.. NOBODY that was a hardcore casual would even NOTICE. it was only 1 or 2 objects in whole screen, and was 0.05 seconds. Still a thing. But not a huge issue that only happened, somewhat blatantly, in a zoomed in cutscene. I agree with you, but it wasn't that BAD because of a zoom in, in the cutscene and not THAT long with XSX ~600 gb/s Texture rendering GPU not 440 PS5..
This game LOOKS AMAZING AND RUNS AMAZING ON XSX = IT coulda been better, like all these XBOX games developed INSANE, Hellblade 2 xsx WOW.. FORZA motorsport rTX8 in XSX WOW... Starfield now 120 fps unlocked XSX graphics WOW.... and most 3r party for XSX recently, Allen wake 2 REALLY well no blatant "pop in" and 60.000 XSX and ps5 HITCHES, DIPS 40S... okay.

Ray tracing is broken it freezers some cinamatics and kicks u back to home screen after i switched it off had no problems

I’m playing on pc with a 4070ti and it runs sooooo bad. Game has the visuals and mechanics from 2010 but it’s terrible performance

What cpu do you have? I’m on 4070ti too @ 1440p native and it runs smoothly on my end with rt on ultra . Tried on the hub w/c is taxxing area and it runs great. I just run it with fg and dlss on quality with rt off so ihave a high fps. I’m glad they added toggle to turn off motion blur because on their 1st beta (way back 2020 i think?) there was no option

Did you bother to tweak settings at all? I’m on a 3060 and have had 0 performance issues running at 1440p. I’m getting a consistent 90fps on high settings.
I was excited to try this out, but i got bored after an hour, while yes it looks pretty good, the gameplay is super bland

Game graphics look pretty, but that random stutters are shit. Gameplay movements are so shit and game was out in 2024. Better if they could make it like an Anthem or Warframe movements. If you wanna recolour your character you must pay, it’s disgusting, in destiny/waframe/anthem it’s free dude
