In case you do not know Marcelito's story ~ Marcelitos's father was incarcerated and, at only 7 yrs old, his mother abandoned him on the streets of a poverty ridden city in The Philippines. He would sing to comfort himself when he was afraid and lonely. To survive he would clean chicken coups and he sang to the chickens. With all of that, he remained kind, gentle and humble. This song, The Prayer, although not written for him, was his prayer during his own childhood, for God to provide a safe place to be and for wisdom in overcoming his hostile environment. There is no doubt that his voice is magnificently beautiful but there is an extra something that grasps peoples' hearts. His character and spirit are in everything he sings. He has had absolutely no vocal training and is self taught. He can do all genres of music, both female and male voices and in 6 different languages. He is an activist for the poor and pays his success forward.
