    For me, the ideas in th-cam.com/users/postUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

      This recommendation is spam. Stick to the video or other reputable guides.

    I'm building my kids treehouse and needed some pointers as I'm not a tradesman. Your videos are excellent - you show all the 'gotchas' and explain it with great videography and no bs that is found on so many other videos. Thanks so much. Subscribed!

    I thought this was very well done, on my shed I am going to fit each piece then paint all sides and edges before installation to prevent rot . or at least slow it down.

    Nice video series! What size/length nails did you use in the nail gun on the siding and trim?
    Thanks for your time.

      Pretty sure it’s an engineered/composite planks that he’s using. You wouldn’t get a grain like that from sawn timber

    Two questions. One, is the fascia board you used a composite wood or all wood? Two, what type of metal piece did you put between the siding on the gable ends?

    Hey i have a question, does it need to have a trim piece at the bottom of the shed? Like at the bottom edge of the shed all around it. Ive seem some bigger structures that have it and some that dont. Is it optional or what? Does water get in between the trim piece?

    • @icreatablestv
      @icreatablestv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is optional. It does look good.

    HELP ME please!!!. I purchased a 30L travel trailer. I am redoing the roof and found out everything has been framed with 2x2 pieces. My goal was to build a pitched gable above the RV so I could have a loft inside. I was going to be using 2x6 can anyone give me recommendations on if I'm able to use 2x4 or 2x6 as my rafter since the wall framing is only 2x2. Idk what to do please help

    Nice video, but don't overdrive the nails on the smart trim. You will void the warranty if you do.

    I can't find the right dimensions for the smart side trim near me. All I can find is 1x6x8. Is it ok if I use other wood for the trim? The smart side is cheaper but unfortunately they only have that length. Or could I buy the smartside and then cut it to the right width and then add 2 inches to with some scrap? Any thoughts =)?

    • @icreatablestv
      @icreatablestv  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben Silverman Good question. You can have the salesperson order in 16' lengths. If you don't want to wait for that yes you can install a 2 inch piece and caulk the joint. This happens all the time on larger structures like houses.Yes you can use regular wood for trim. Just make sure it has several good coats of paint. Thanks for the great question!

    • @icreatablestv
      @icreatablestv  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Winston Jordan Yes it can be done in a weekend. It really depends on the skill level. Professional framers that is building sheds regularly can do it in about 10 hours if all the materials are there, without paint.

    I was wondering if, when installing smartside 38, do I need to cut off the shiplaps at the corner butt joints?
    It was kinda hard to tell on your previous video, but maybe I am over-thinking it. I checked LP Products website and downloaded their installation pdf, but there is no mention of it. I would think so, but would appreciate your thoughts

    • @icreatablestv
      @icreatablestv  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the corners are covered by trim. And it will make the on center spacing off. The most important things are that the panels are square with the studs and that the joints meet on the center of a wall stud.
      Thanks for the great question.

    • @icreatablestv
      @icreatablestv  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is LP Smart side Trim. It is essentially a O.S.B. wood fiber material. So it does not split or warp. It also comes pre primed so it saves in painting.

    Too busy to miter corners?

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @uniqueaddress yes. The correct way and the incorrect way.

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @uniqueaddress Its most certainly a preference. The function of said shed is gonna be just fine, sure. But having this large thing in the middle of my yard, I want it to look good too. I would also use a full length board to go across instead of slapping whatever seemed to fit. So while yes, its a preference, and yes its just a shed, but it would be something large and stand-outish in my yard. If you're going through all the effort to make a nice shed, why not ... make it nice?
