My son is currently in 1/8 0311 designated marksman just made lance corporal bout to deploy for first time he is so proud to be a 1/8 MARINE. Proud of the legacy you guys left. OORAH truly brothers truly his family now. May God bless the brave that keep us free!!

My father served 21 years, most of them with the 8th Marines, I grew up with you guys in the 90s, SSGT Ronald Chacon passed away in 2010, but we always remember you!!

My next door neighbor was with 1/8he was in Beirut when they got bombed me I was with three eight we went in after Reagan pulled the rest of the Marines out thank you for the video
I was at Lejeune waiting with 30 or so other Marines when the barracks got bombed. 1/8 was scheduled to return and we were casuals until they came back. We were replacements. I'll never forget getting woke up in the middle of night and having a rifle shoved into my hands before even being able to take a piss and being bussed to Cherry Point. We were half way across the Atlantic before anyone told us why.
Best and worst times of my life. I was on both these deployments. I served with some great men in this little corner in time all those years ago. I’ll carry their memory on for the rest of my life.
I go to 1/8 23rd. I hear they deploy a lot and the instructors are bad cuz of the hazing but I won’t believe nun but the deployments til I get there cuz that’s what we hope for as ppl that signed up for infantry. Waiting on our turn

Hunter Hogan was my dads BEST BEST friend in the marine corps and Mr. Hunter Hogan died right in front of him and my dad cried on the battle field
