I have a question on the pre-orders, I am trying to do the same for a product I am looking at selling to test the market and start slow without having to have big inventory, currently I am using Facebook marketplace in Australia to do so, however how do you have people trust you and not fall into the "scam" category ? most people are not willing to pay until they have seen the product, (its a decorative item). I would appreciate your response , cheers
You absolutely have to capture the payment in advance, that shows demand for product and allows you to buy the stock without prior spending. For people to be villing to pay in advance you have to have credibility - this is a bigger task, which always depends from case to case. Facebook marketplace can look scammy indeed, why not use some other social media channels and put your face there speaking about product? You have to built trust is some way, because obviously people are afraid to be scammed and righfully so. Or product has to be so compelling/trendy that people don't care, but it's always difficult unless product is very low price where people are villing to take risks.
