this past 4 months ive gone through XCOM Final ModPack and then XCOM FIles. Probably one of the best Yogs series i've seen, and i thought i was going to miss them and now i get a NEW XCOM!!! thrilled for the ride, miss lewlew but ben's just the best guy. looking forward to it!
Some of the XCOM files was just insane. So many memorable moments. I personally love the werewolf ceiling collapse incident and "Legionnaire Chihuahua and the Temple of Doom"
I'm so glad you reloaded after that non-sense. I was getting genuinely upset that you can't enjoy the game because it's a "hardcore" challenge when we all know the reason we do these challenges is for our own enjoyment first. It's just the pressure being placed on you from outside sources making you doubt your ability to "save scum" without being critiqued. If it happens again go ahead and do what you need to enjoy the game, you are beyond fair to both us and yourself.
you should get a fleet of servo sculls and launch them 1st round. the enemies love shooting at them and they are free scouting. Also, they can fly high and see pretty much the whole battlefield before you leave the ship.
That weapon is soo stupid. There's no way it can produce enough heat to melt starship-grade steel plating and power armor without melting itself and its wielder.
The Inquisitor seems so much stronger than everyone else. He ate attacks that killed the Space Marines. Also out themselves out seemingly automatically when set on fire.
Maybe the ship you shot down had a bunch of Pink Horrors in it and when they crash landed they died and all spawned blue horrors which might explain the 40 aliens killed but I dunno, just thinking out loud.
I think the guard are probably the hardest to play as due to not getting space marines, sisters, or sexy assassins. They're very hard to train up so losing veteran guardsman stings about as much as losing an average marine. They also struggle with breaching operations due to their heavy weapons needing setup to fire accurately. Their advantage is cheap numbers and that's about it.
Tge xcom mod packs have been such an emotional rollercoaster, and while yea they dont have much views its such an awesome thing that classic xcom has built a small but very involved and loyal community... minus bottlegnomes accursed traitor of earth.
Another great stream Ben! If I see you having fun then I have fun, if it gets frustrating or bullshit don't hesitate to reload a save to maintain that energy. It's a game, the point is to enjoy it.
Agreed. That being said just about any remake/reskinned version of the suceessful 90's/early 2000's era games would likely be far better than most of the modern stuff they're putting out these days. If someone were to make a 40k game built off the old Unreal Tournament series (particularly the 2003 version which first introduced vehicles), OR better yet the old Star Wars Battlefront from 2004 (a game far. far ahead of its time), I'd buy it in an instant. Both had solid ground combat modes with the ability to support a few dozen players per side. UT had various engaging mission types beyond what other FPS games offered in the day, including their well crafted 'assault' mode missions where one team had to attack and other defend, then when the round ended it was switched to see if the other team could do better. SW BF2 also had the space combat element that allowed you to both dogfight or try to board the enemy capital ship then fight through the defenders to reach and sabotage critical ship systems. Among the field of many 'battlefield' type games of the era, IMO SW BF2 was a cut above all of them. I played both games for many, many long hours, and feel both would work ridiculously well if adapted for 40k.
Yay X-Com 40k with Ben, the only correct way to watch this Y'know, I got gifted the starter set of ultramarines vs necrons, still gotta paint it though
The only time I tried this mod, a few years ago, I had Space Marines, and not one lived past the first turn, nor did I ever see any of the orks. I promptly rage quit.
So for some of the wacky weapons: my memory of the officer power sword is that it has a secondary effect with grants TU in and AOE based on the wielders Bravery stat So dont forget the stats for nerds page
I will not stand for slander of medic Rinaldo, he could've saved his brothers had a certain commander not flubbed his orders and told him to leave a downed ally in dry grass next to a spreading inferno. Seriously though Ben, you have too many hours in xcom to be making the mistake of healing the wrong person, it probably would have been avoided if you just slowed down a little
You know things are crazy when Ben gets a vision from Tzeentch

This is my favorite series currently, can"t wait to see more
Me too, I don't know why it's a little dopamine hit

what difficulty is he playing on though?
@@Shadow-bk1im this mod has no settings. It is extremely hard
man the chat was particularly unhelpful this stream, jesus xd

I bet that Ork has a third edition burner which were combi flamer-power weapons

really enjoying the context of this playthrough... elite hit squad go! Really looking forward to more of these!!!
MORE Benperor for the glory of mankind!
The Inquisitor seems so much stronger than everyone else. He ate attacks that killed the Space Marines. Also out themselves out seemingly automatically when set on fire.
More Benperor action? Hell yeah!
29:59 Ben gets so confused his audio gives up. "BLEED?!"

"we lost space cop and servo skull"
-ben immediately forgetting about mahons
Edit: 1 minute in, we recovered by restarting. LUL
How will we recover from the Tank Reaction Massacre. Let's find out.
what are the odds choosing to start as an inquisition team is akin to choosing a more advanced difficulty?
It’s honestly one of the easier campaigns, it can just be more punishing before you get the ball rolling because losses are harder to replace early.

@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya Plus guard numbers isn't a guaranteed upgraded because they'll start morale breaking on you due to a bad turn
@@davidahumada4511 and the only counter to that is a commissar, but odds are if you've had a mass break even with one you won't be able to win

jesus, wasn't expecting the Big Lyds jumpscare around 2:42:00 had the video on in the background, nearly shat myself...

this game seems unbeatable. dang!
FYI as of 19feb there are several vids on twitch after this one!
They should make a Mordheim/ Hive Wars mod for Xcom. Would probably be better than the dedicated games
Agreed.

Damn I'd love to play this with Tyranids or... Well. Maybe one day.
You send 230 gaunts, now control each one in a turn based strategy.
Three days later, you resolve the first conflict.
Maybe the enemies would avoid using special attacks if everyone wasn't bunched up?
Dont worry lads, everything is on fire again! A tragedy part five
I got a chump! i dont expect to last long
I need more Ben!!
Yaaay, for the Benperooor!!
Ben Ben Ben bennn!!!!! Going in rawww
Hurray! 🎉
I cant seem to get this mod to work, 40k works but adding this doesnt work. looks like a great addition to it
