The problem is that he wasn't really a menace and a liability in 2022. Plus, he was a HEAVY underdog. He's still an underdog now but should be performing better than he is. He also makes these mistakes a lot more often now.

As I was watching the race I was also watching the Euros. Pretty electrifying game between Spain and England with the Copa America game happening soon as well.
I didn't watch the Euros and didn't feel like watching them either. I watched the semi finals though.
I remember everyone saying LaJoie was being held back by his equipment. Then he got the chance to drive Hendrick equipment and was outran by his own car.
As for shifting, I agree. But it isn't going to change. It's one of the few things the next gen got right when trying to "put the stock back in stock car." What few manuals out there that exist have more than 4 gears. The transaxle and sequential transmissions are a different story, but more gears is pretty standard.

The announcers earlier in the year said they picked LaJoie would be a darkhorse winner and make the playoffs. I didn’t understand it when they said it. He’s always been trash lol
This was good but it could be better. This race suffered from the same situations road courses do, which is the leader runs away. If everyone could stay in contention throughout, it could have made this a little more enjoyable.

Here's the part that really gets me. He very clearly wrecked Kyle Busch on purpose and took out 10 cars. Elton Sawyer tells reporters... oh no penalty, but we reached out to Corey to see if he was in the right mindset. WTF does that mean?
Has NASCAR ever publicly outed someone after causing a big wreck? Big wrecks happen somewhat often. But NASCAR has never been like... yeah we checked on Tony Stewart's mental status after causing avoidable accidents at Bristol, Fontana, and Talladega within the last few weeks (2004).
By even thinking about LaJoie's mental status, that very clear tells me they know damn well he did it on purpose. Why would you even question his mental health after causing a massive crash!?
I'm not much of a Bubba Wallace fan, but damn he should ask for his money back. This is a HORRIBLE look for NASCAR. HORRIBLE.
I was at Pocono this weekend and around the fire we were discussing LaJoie. He's easily the most talentless driver in Cup. It IS every single week. He's terrible. That includes the likes of Austin Dillon as well. LaJoie has just transcended the normal wreckers. He's a complete hack.
10 years in the top 3 series, 0 wins. He has a couple top 5/10 finishes that he backed into. He’s got the biggest mouth with no skill to back it up. He doesn’t belong there. Runs 83rd week in and week out and the only time you hear his name is when he’s wrecking someone or wrecking himself. Dudes a waste of a seat.

Dude what happened everyone has loved him since this year and then one mistake and he is the most hated nascar driver in history.
He thinks and talks on the podcast like he is "all that" but he has no chips.
Didn't watch your video, but I'll comment based on the title. Very doubtful everyone in Nascar hates LaJoie. Second, "what does he even do?" Same as about 60% of the rest of the drivers, cruises around every race in mid pack to rear of field, sometimes gets to the front and then finishes 20th or worse. There's only about 10 drivers who are a threat to win every week and he's not one of them, but neither are 20 others.

I used to kind of like him. After today and listening to his radio after crashing Busch and 4 other drivers- he is just as bad as Hamlin and Gibbs as far as immaturity goes.

He's not a bad driver in anyway.. ever since he's been in cup he was always known for taking care of his equipment especially when he was driving for GO fas and Spire. But the one major issue that completely Overshadowed him before this Incident with Busch was Gateway when he completely Underperformed while subbing for an suspended Elliott while Hocevar who was making his 1st start Completely outperformed him until a mechanical failure ended up ruining his race.. Granted HMS as a whole hasn't figured Gateway out. Corey suppostly considers Gateway as one of his worst tracks but. Fans are not Buying it...at all. Also remember how Elliott gets dragged through the mud and everyone threw a temper tantrum when he made a last lap move. But not a word when blaney completely Destroyed Jones at Talladega. In a similar way

Lajoie gets a chance for a win, like once a year and throws it away because he's too aggressive. The rest of the year, he's wrecking people mid pack. How can the team afford to even finance this car after years of carnage and stupidity? The best I can come up with is tax write-off or fraud.
What he tried to do today goes beyond a 'dive bomb'. Even if he got next to Busch, he wasn't going to make the corner and was going to wreck regardless because of the fact were like 5 wide.

Thing is it wasn't his fault. Watching the footage and hearing the audio of Kyle's onboard, he hit the limiter. Kyle didn't shift so when Corey went to get back up in line before the corner came he ran into Kyle because of that speed difference it happened fast as they were at speed, can't blame him for that. The spotter saw it a different way and that's why he made that comment that Kyle got what he deserved. Let's not be an echo chamber because everyone hates him and look at this objectively.

Kyle Busch shouldnt be back in the pack to begin with dealing with Coreys non talent bullshit. We would never see Corey Lajoie in the top ten cause a big wreck. I hope Kyle gets it figured out and running good like he can do. Lajoie is just wasted space on the track.
