Hello everyone! I wanted to present a theory of mine, one that has really been in a head for a while and The Mines just proved it. Let's study floor one, the hotel. We know there's three lights, Guiding light, Curious Light and Mischievous light. They all reign over one realm and one is stronger in their certain realm. Guiding light reigns over the hotel and curious light slightly shares a part of it but not as much. In floor two, we can see that Guiding light, Curious Light, and Mischievous light share the realm equally. Guiding light seems stronger in this realm, Curious light has a bit of power in this realm but not as much as in the backdoor and the rooms. Mischievous light however seems to take almost an equal part to this realm more than floor 1. The three lights all power the generators throughout the map. Ever thought why seek may have this red aura whenever you're being chased? I've thought it over and over and the possibility can be true, what if seek is mischievous light? It's strange for only one singular entity to have a lot of power, especially shown where seek arrives from the sewers twice in different ways. Especially at the end where Grumble was ultimately killed by Seek, it just seems too good to not be true. I believe there was a once upon a time the lights used to be in harmony, they may have created these entities we know now. Mischievous light may be the reason why the entities are now corrupted and by assumption the entity most influenced by Mischievous light's power is seek. Regarding Halt I believe Halt may have been corrupted by the same light, surely must've been a creation of guiding light. Something happened and I don't doubt that this doesn't involve jealousy. Yes so ur theory is I think true. Seek is the third light. I knew it since the crucifix release because seek and figure where the only two entities that crucifix can't contain. But I know why can't it contain figure. It's because figure is a humanoid. The same works for Grumble. We can see flesh on him. That means that he isn't a ghost or some evil demon but a living.... something. On the other hand we can clearly see that seek is a black goo that got possessed by a demon. Thats why the red aura is there. But the crucifix can't contain him because he is the ,,evil light" and that light is stronger than guiding light when it comes to entities. So yeah good thinking and I think ur theory is true. 👍
I agree with both of y’all but I have a small head cannon to add to y’all’s where curious and guiding light made the hotel as a sorta idea to make it a safe haven for human (I know weird head cannon) but in the process Mischievous light was made on accident and made the monsters (I think Jeff, bob, and the Goblin *I forgot his name* just came into the hotel and just live there now) but found the black goo and decided that is it’s new body so that’s probably why Seek is so strong but that’s just my head cannon and I definitely agree that both of y’all’s theories are true
This makes a lot of sense and I think a cool design feature that’s prob on purpose is that all lights are primary colours which shows that maybe if 2 lights combine take curious light (yellow) and guiding light (blue) we may get a green theme light. A lot of players don't realize, but this monster we see in ending get absorbed by Seek, is NOT Grumble, or at least not JUST ANY Grumble. It's the queen. GL mentions in one of death messages about Grumbles protecting the queen in the Nest. She's also way way bigger than Grumble
