An excellent presentation many thanks. In conjunction with technical analysis (using Wyckoff method) and rigorous use of stops, alongside a heightened appreciation win/loss ratios has definitely begun to help my performance improve.

Amazing how many successful traders are at that 30% success area. The most successful trader I know personally is at 28.7% success rate for the past 32 years. He makes over $20 million/year at this rate.
Because of these numbers people should not discount the stories of traders making astronomical gains because it's very possible they have a similar method to these trend followers, but with a higher hit rate.
Yep - Its all about the risk reward, I float around a 50% strike rate but with a near 5 to 1 ratio. Its not about being right its about how much you win when you are right and how much you lose when you are wrong..

The Big Commercials know retail traders stops and will knock out tight stops before going into the Trend. So often I have seen my long/short confirmed After being stopped out.
on daily charts, more so..
@@FinancialWisdom Yes, pro traders often keep stops in their head or will put their stops on odd numbers and way outside the pack of retail.

Awesome, thanks - This really helps my channel - Yes a button on the sheet provides the description, It's a real eye opener and ensures the trader stays realistic and manages risk accordingly - If every beginner had this tool the 90% stat of losing trader would be much less.

Excellent presentation of the book. I was looking for a Monte Carlo spreadsheet for some time after reading Adam Grimes and am grateful for your efforts. Just one question. Can the number of trades be changed, (I would not trade 365 times in one year..the rest of data I input from my record keeping.)

If he only has a 30% success rate, wouldn’t he be better using the same strategy but instead of buying, shorting?
Hi David, Not necessarily, if we flipped the stats to say he has a strike rate of 70% when shorting stocks, he could still lose money.. The strike rate is only part of the equation. It all depends how much you win or lose on the selection too. lets say 70% of the time he won $100 but 30% of the time he lost $300, he would have a strategy that loses money..

They happen, the important point is to learn from these losses, too much risk? wrong side of the moving average? did the market as a whole decline? a particular sector? and and.... dont cry lol
