I was banging my head on the wall trying to figure out why my trailer lights stopped working. I checked the fuses etc. I wasn't aware of the plug in the back of the adapter until your video. That was the issue! Saved me a trip to the dealership, thank you!
I am going to apologize in advance for what I am about to type. I Love that things weren't going smoothly right out of the gate. That's what happens to your subscribers most of the time. Thanks for the video ps. I also like that you have no inner dialog , verbalizing your thinking , and the way the camera stays with you , while you try to figure things out. You're a likable guy.
I would recommend staying on the ground pin for your test light ground connection for all diagnostic tests because that is what the trailer is going to be using. Otherwise you might miss a gremlin.
Thanks for video. I checked everything excepts fuses though I had the thought at back of my mind. I will now check my fuses box. Best video i have seen on trailer lights not working :)
Thoughtful and accurate , in terms of trouble shooting, video. My issue is that all of my trailer lights were working, but now none are working but fore the turn signals and brake lights.
Your lack of smalltalk and personal info,MAKES YOUR VIDS GREAT!some guys can turn a 5 minute video into 10,talking about their boat trailer and what lights are for!
My 2003 Chevrolet Silverado did not have the relay for the trailer hookup from the factory. Too bad I never hooked up a trailer until 16 years later and was wondering why the lights weren't working.
What’s going on with Buick that they install a plug but make powering it up an option?!? That’s nothing less than pathetic! Never heard of such a thing!
Probably a dumb question but this is my first time wiring a trailer should I ground every light where the light is or should I run a white ground wire across the entire trailer to every single accessory?
I have the same problem with my 2012 F-250. The 7 round pin connector has no power to it. I removed the connector and still nothing. Now I am tracing the fuses and relays to the two fuse boxes. One at the engine hood and another at the passenger side (the trailer fuses on this box are all good). The ones under the hood I am still working on it. I need tools to pull those out LOL
Having a problem with just the brake light... changed fuse, tested ohms, cleaned the connectors... the box inside the car is the same. Rewired it 3 times... suggestions?
I have a 2005 Yukon and I have no right turn signal in my trailer hookup there is no power on the right side turn signal, I have turn signals in the vehicle but not in the trailer hookup as I said I have no power in the right side on the trailer hookup can anyone tell me what the problem could be, thank you
I checked everything else first and no luck. Then I checked the truck trailer light fuse. Bingo Fuse was blown (20amp) Replaced and now turn signal light and brake light on left side works 😅
If I was to buy jdm headlights and a jdm front bumper, can the fog light housing shape be changed to a diffrent style/shape/housing on the front bumper so it fits into the new jdm front bumper?
Hey there! Exusme I need your help with replacing the mass air flow sensor on a 2,008 Suzuki Forenza. First I took the old one out easy BUT I can't get the new one installed back. Before I'm gonna mess it up I decided to ask how to do it. Thank you very much.
Why not start with the fuses. An electrician would always start with the fuse (the beginning of the circuit) and work out, not start at the end of the circuit.
I re-did my trailer wiring. When I connect the 7 pin to the trailer all works fine- but when I go to actually hook up the trailer- as soon as the ball touches the hitch it blows my left turn signal fuse (assuming left turn signal is on) Anyone ever encountered that?
Test light wire clamps are not strong and reliable . Clamp a set of small locking Vise Grips onto a good ground then clamp your tester’s clamp to it . 5/14/23
i rewired my new carryon trailer lights didnt work well i bought a light tester and all lights after i turned on my lights lit up. jacked it back off the trailer ball. the ball itself was rusty, i thought hmmmmmmm not a good ground so i took a wire brush\ cleanedup the trailer ball squirted some wd 40 0n it and bingo! lights all came on. reason to rewire it? well seems my 3 goats got out and thought they needed to play on it chewed all my wires.
Terrible example . You need to have something on say the lights , blinker, or brakes to indicate on the appropriate pin. You had the brake on so the only pin that should indicate or light the tester is the brake pin and none of the others. You can go around all the pins a million times but the only ones that will indicate or have power are the ones that are ON ! By chance someone may have wired it wrong and one of the other pins could light but not ALL the other pins, only one pin. You need to be CRYSTAL CLEAR .

Best video I've seen on this issue after watching and searching many. Thanks.

Thanks for a great video with great insights, and most of all, no annoying music blasting, no irrelevant small talk. Very professional.

This video was Amazing 👏!!! It saved me so much time. My lights on boat trailer are finally working!! Thank you so much

Did you fix ? Same thing happened to me

Bro u just saved my life
Where did you go to get the wiring diagram/ information of the vehicle
You pulling those fuses out of the box and reinstalling them is why this video was needed
I’m not sure what you mean?
Weird that GM would have the factory hitch and harness installed but leave out all the fuses and relays.
That's why I like the power probe you'll know immediately if you have power ground
What’s going on with Buick that they install a plug but make powering it up an option?!? That’s nothing less than pathetic! Never heard of such a thing!
Nitro thank you very much have a nice day brother
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Just when us mechanics/technicians figure shit out some engineer goes and switches stuff lol
Very good Info....Thanks
I like the raw video..
Hey, what are the fuses called that are for the trailer?
Probably a dumb question but this is my first time wiring a trailer should I ground every light where the light is or should I run a white ground wire across the entire trailer to every single accessory?
Holy cow. Great video.

👍👌👍
Can I test with a multimeter ? If so, how ?

Did you figure it out? I had corrosion and a bad fuse but still no power to left trailer blinker wire
Can you help me out,my truck plug green wire stays hot even with truck off

Fuse was blown (20amp)
Replaced and now turn signal light and brake light on left side works 😅
Got a ?4u, my trailer have no lights but when i open the door on the 2014 f250 the trailer lights come on
How about a top 5 problems video on the 200 series Land Cruiser?
No video because nothing goes wrong except the price.
If I was to buy jdm headlights and a jdm front bumper, can the fog light housing shape be changed to a diffrent style/shape/housing on the front bumper so it fits into the new jdm front bumper?
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you!!

Why the fa are they just not installed? Is that so they can charge you $2k for ”towing package” and then just add some fuses?
Probably. Cheap a holes. It's getting ridiculous or has been for a long time
Dude, I’m well past checking the fuses. What do I do if the fuses aren’t the issue?!?! 😭
Thanks sir

Informative video 👍

My turn lights and brake lights work fine. My tail lights don't work at all. Does anyone have any ideas ? Thanks
If the plug is very dirty .could it possible cause a parasitic battery drain
Unfortunately this does not help me because mine is a four flat aftermarket setup
Why would so many things would be missing from the fuse box T.T
Thank you 👍🏻👌🇺🇲
Buick enclaves are rolling pieces of junk they got more issues than any other car I've ever had to work on.
No power to trailer fuses 2007 Tahoe ltz
I re-did my trailer wiring. When I connect the 7 pin to the trailer all works fine- but when I go to actually hook up the trailer- as soon as the ball touches the hitch it blows my left turn signal fuse (assuming left turn signal is on)
Anyone ever encountered that?
Looks like it just needs fuses
Question.
Do you unplug trucks battery to replaced the 7 way trailer hardness ?
No need
Same engine than grand caravan 2011 R/T
It's a 2009 Chevy Silverado

I have no volume
Who took all the fuses and relays out!!!!
No one took them out. They were never installed, according to the ”package”
That'll be $450 pleez.
Get them fixed, or you're regular turn signals won't work. 😆
Misleading title & why would you post this video knowing it was just fuses & relays. What a waste of time. 🤦🏻♂️
Why gloves lol
Wrong video. Your problem is worse than mine. Been tjere with a chevy. Lol.
Good info...whats up with all this millennials wearing rubber gloves? smh.
Don't want rough hands I'm guessing or getting boo boos
As long as he knows what he is doing. What does wearing glove have to do with anything? Smh, old timers always criticizing
This needs to be removed. Power is on the 1 oclock and he line run of neg.
Nice troubleshooting, always good content 👍🏽🔧🧰👊🏽
