This remains one of my favorite videos of all time. The shear power of the Moog and you're spaceship operator level of skill is a match made in heaven. I can not thank you enough for uploading this magnificent piece of art.
The second I saw the words “spaceship operator” I thought “wait a minute, I know that guy!” I too find myself coming back to this video, because as far as I’m concerned, this solo is now a classic in the world of synthesizers.
As an owner of the Model D, I can honestly say I love this synth through and through. This is such a beautiful demo of this glorious piece of art. Thanks for sharing. Long live MOOG!
Dear All, I have already received so many wonderful comments for this video. Thank you all. The Minimoog and I are still a good team. It brings me to produce my meanwhile sixth Minimoog video. So-- you'll still hear and see me this year.:-)
So amazing. Hearing you jam made me run into my studio and put a note on it to hookup the eventide to my model D and get weird with it in the morning. Way cool thanks.
Wow. This is something all desktop computer music guys should see. A real musician.... No computer or sequencer for that matter. Anyone who claims music in any form should be impressed.
Just saw this. Beautifully done! It's a rare event to hear someone with enough talent, to bring out the pure rich, lush sounds of a Moog as you have done here. Thank you! More please!
Absolutely brilliant ! I have a Moog sub 37 that absolutely love. The way you play this and the sounds you did with the delay is absolutely wonderful. I am a professional composer and the keyboard player for over 30 years. And it's always so nice to hear someone do something wonderful , With a Moog ! Regards TotallyKenny
4:38 O melhor solo que eu já ouvi, esse som me lembra os filmes da Polly antigos que eu assistia, também me lembras as abertura dos jogos antigos 😊 passou uma nostalgia.5:16 e 6:08
i have revisited this at least a couple of times per year for more than a decade now, and never tire of it. just incredible. a bonafide instance of when instrument becomes extension of human. just beautiful, on every front.
My roommate got a Minimoog back in my school days in 1973. Nice to see it ressurected again in this video. Never did own one but did get a Prophet 10 about a decade later and still have it. Love synthesizers!! Great performance- very inspiring.
yeah man, you and your minimoog was meltet into one piece - one solid block of fluid sound dissolving onto the space of frequencies :D fantastic performace!
Its been over 5 years and I just keep coming back to this video. The tube scream song might be the coolest audio that has ever entered my ears. Its the perfect score for a movie about space explorers who've landed on another planet that harbors life.
This is beautiful. I love my re-issue and you`re inspiring me to spend more time with it. The MiniMoog has so many tones and shapes to it... its like a little orchestra at your fingertips.
It's actually @ 3:00 and 8:00 that I was talking about.... I mistyped... That great square pluck along with the distorted tones is what I'll "video reply" to.... Again, great work!
Thank you very much. You've got right.. it's an amazing synth...and with the new OSC-board.... It's nice to know more and more musicans who own an Minimoog....
there are not many artists that made me appreciate electronic music. Especially, in it's purest form. Vangelis, Daft Punk and now you. not many pieces of genius posted on youtube. you, are a genius of the minimoog, i will argue with anyone who thinks otherwise. thanks, this is fenomenal music to listen to. all your sessions are fantastic. i you records, i will gladly pay to hear your music. regards,
I keep coming back to this. It really is so good. Don't take it from me though Im only a classical guitarist with an interest in Moogness I have no musical ear whatsoever and play percussion in a brass band just to improve my ear...lol Feckin Outstanding Sonic Delivery.
I understand what you mean about not getting enough of the Minimoog. Even though I rarely use my Mm Voyager, whenever I do plug it in, it feels like putty in my hands. And, I can feel your devotion to this synthesizer throughout this presentation.
I was looking for opinions on why the Model D was held in high regard (beyond it's historical significance), came across an old thread on Gearslutz where the poor OP was utterly vilified and trolled, then found a link to this buried within all the vitriolic posts. I get it now. It's not just the "sound" but the simple UI that allows for this kind of intimacy with it. Watching it being played with the same type of adroit technique as a masterful acoustic instrumentalist illustrates how the simple UI works to make it an "instrument" in the classical sense of the word. I've watched it four time already and it's still amazing. Masterful. It almost sounds as if the first part is a bit of a nod to Karlheinz Stockhausen's Helikopter-Streichquartett
I wish I could see you play everyday for the rest of my life! What a video! What a talent! What a sound! What a Synthesizer! I've watched this video a thousand times and I still get the same feeling that I got the first time. The whole video is amazing, but the 5:13 part makes me feel in the middle of the space, in a spaceship, watching something (something BIG) blow up... Thanks for uploading... Really amazing.
And! It looks that you know your Mini pretty good!
Tip Top Amazing Analog Mastery
When I saw him adjust the knobs I nerded out like crazy haha
Definitely yes

Best mistake an engineer ever made was that miscalculation of the filter input levels. Man what a beautiful noise.
can you tell me more about that? seems great!
@@giordanorosadoni5440 i might be wrong but i think its about any setting higher than 6 on most moog’s mixers overdrive the filter input

@@nate_creates like the level of Dorian Concept lol
I love it more than anyone here so shut up about it. I love it more, period!
Nice one 👍🌞
Like hearing a Spitfire test it's engines, at the start. The frequency beating of two side by side, ready to take off. Fantastic demo!
I would rather says it sounds like a multi engine startup, like in bringing NR. 1 up to service rpm and then throttle up NR2
Oh my goodness yes! Is there anything more moving than the sound of a Spitfire engine starting?
As an owner of the Model D, I can honestly say I love this synth through and through. This is such a beautiful demo of this glorious piece of art. Thanks for sharing. Long live MOOG!
i love it thru and thru much more than you

Just found your vid.
Absolutely brilliant...like a cross between Human League's Travelogue and Jean Michel Jarre Oxygene/Equinox albums.
Thanks!
Please never stop making music and start selling it please!
synthi62 do you have the old osc board or the newer stable one?
So amazing. Hearing you jam made me run into my studio and put a note on it to hookup the eventide to my model D and get weird with it in the morning. Way cool thanks.
SPECTACULAR!!! I WOULD BUY THIS ...MAKE AN ALBUM!!
VERY VERY VERY GOOOD...Finally someone show the dark/sweet side of the minimoog with real sound ...and real music ... !
That was just gorgeous. Your playing is aggressive and sensitive. One contrasts with the other. Love the delay, and filter modulation. Thank you.
Wow. This is something all desktop computer music guys should see. A real musician.... No computer or sequencer for that matter. Anyone who claims music in any form should be impressed.

This is by far one of the best improvisations I've seen on keyboard. Way to know your Moog brother!

Wow, this is gorgeous!
I can remember the time when all science and kids' programs on TV had a moog in the leader music.
i have revisited this at least a couple of times per year for more than a decade now, and never tire of it. just incredible. a bonafide instance of when instrument becomes extension of human. just beautiful, on every front.
do you still have and play this synth? i hope so!
Thank you very much for this marvellous post.... yes, the Minimoog is a part of my life and the best way to express my feelings. Still today!

And,, hammond, farfisa ,vox, is very good sır.
But i think, not exist like an a moog, first analog synthesizer on the world
yeah man, you and your minimoog was meltet into one piece - one solid block of fluid sound dissolving onto the space of frequencies :D
fantastic performace!
Tangerine Dream would have loved you..... In my mind.....A master piece
Its been over 5 years and I just keep coming back to this video. The tube scream song might be the coolest audio that has ever entered my ears. Its the perfect score for a movie about space explorers who've landed on another planet that harbors life.
The best Model D and Mangler demo on TH-cam. Moog should put this on their channel now that Model D is reissued.
no pants.
Marcusmiller you don't need pants when you have a minimoog
chieftp You can't /afford/ pants if you've bought a minimoog
Skylar Francise
that's why I'm going to be getting a waldorf pulse 2 instead.
Skylar Francise would you rather have... 1000 Different Pants in all shapes and colors? Or 1 Minimoog... THATS THE REAL QUESTION
Marcusmiller the sound of the Minimoog takes off my shoes, and my pants too...but it is possible to own a Minimoog AND pants :-D
Wholly hell! This is SO powerful! and magical, and mystical... all at once! Amazing sounds and performance!
You made this mono synth sound like an 8-voice! Incredible playing!
That was freaking spectacular. This is the kind of music I love to hear and hope to create when I get my own Minimoog.
This is beautiful. I love my re-issue and you`re inspiring me to spend more time with it. The MiniMoog has so many tones and shapes to it... its like a little orchestra at your fingertips.
This is a tour-de-force of minimoog playing. Excellent control of tone and tasty, tasty playing.
I would buy this! Sir, you need to be rockin' out and we will follow.
at 5:43 out of this world great :)
It's actually @ 3:00 and 8:00 that I was talking about.... I mistyped... That great square pluck along with the distorted tones is what I'll "video reply" to.... Again, great work!
Oh Mann, wie magnetisch ist das denn? Spitze....danke für das Teilen...
Best demo on fast hands making great music on the minimmog
Very Styx-like... also the beginning made for an extremely convincing small 1 or 2 engine prop airplane.
So that's how music was created.
And still is ;)
Still the most beautiful sounding mono of all time!
Thank you very much. You've got right.. it's an amazing synth...and with the new OSC-board....
It's nice to know more and more musicans who own an Minimoog....
You could make an album of pure miniMoog tracks. It would sell like hot cakes. Can’t stop listening... Danke!
My twin turbo King Air 250 sounds the same before run ! You really work that better than anyone . Rick , Kieth , Newman
Oh my... it sounds soooo fat and cool. This is by far the best MiniMoog solo video on TH-cam. Thank you for share it!
Incredible playing and sounds!I would love to hear more like this. Thanks

my Minimoog - a little Solo with Delay and Distortion
Back watching this again...
You. Are. My. HERO!
i never knew an electric instrument could be this expressive! Just amazing!
Anna Lorenz Olsen only analog has that kind of gut power.
How could you not know that? :(
Ultrastellar even !
What a staggering piece of art - both performance and machinery. Well done
Nice to see someone who knows their instrument...
Beautiful ! ... no presets (obviously), and an array of astonishing, jaw dropping sounds from that Mini .. Thanks for sharing.
Just discovered this....wow, love the transitions, and tonal expressions. Very nice.
A beautiful sounding instrument expertly crafted by someone who can do more than just twiddle the filter cut off etc. Excellent stuff!
5:58 I think that was my favorite synth lead lick ever.
Wow thank you for this sonic journey through sound.. the warm harmonic textures of the minimoog are beautiful.
Absolutely brilliant. That Minimoog looks and sounds like an extension of your body.My favourite synth ever.
Like a Fighter Jet Pilot round those control's ... AWESOME STUFF.
this is seriously one of the craziest things I've seen and heard for a looong time...
Can you imagine getting a synth solo like that in a live concert with massive speakers? Especially the part from 4:37 on. Wild.
Oh yes, very much so. That's my eternal dream
Man, that Solo with distortion at 6:40 : AMAZING!!!
this is amazing! i wanna see this live.
Very inspiring... what an incredible synth the mini moog is in the hands of someone who really understands how to use it. Thank you!

Phantastic performance on the Minimoog!
It sounds great.
Of course the effects, especially the delay, add glamour to the show :-)
AWWWW HELL YEAH!!!!!!
I love how you are also proficient at sculpting the sound in real time. That's what it's all about. The truth.
Cannot believe what i just heard, that is mind blowing!🤯😎👌👍👍👍👍
Wow. Just stumbled across this amazing piece.
'Ever so lonely' comes to mind in the beginning. It has a lot of this kind of vibe.
Wow. An unusually outstanding Moog video. This could be an album released on Ohr records in 1972.
Some of the best playing and style I have ever heard
So inspired mini new release
Thank you for such a great demo.
Incredible sounds. Very nice !!! 🎹🎹🎹
i've been coming to this for years
i've lost the count of how many times i saw this video, thanks for this i began my love into sinthesizors, thank you

Amazing. What a wonderful instrument... And so it's the musician! :)
Definitely shades of Steve Hillage in there 👏🏻👏🏻

The most perfect Mini Moog demonstration.
Genius! Thanks for share your fantastic talent on this fantastic machine!

Beautiful Triangle Wave and Delay FX.
Love the tones you chose for this session.Foogin amazing.

Very not bad!
The sounds in the first 3 minutes are awesome, wish my little phatty could make those sounds...

Amazing work here! Hugely creative! Congratulations!

Fine soundscapes and good delay devices. Very well done!
excellent minimoog demo. how crazy can go this synth with some vintage intelligence!
Ohhh, this sounds awesome!
omg at 6:42
I know right! Its like a huge scream! Fantastic!
Probably the best minimoog video on TH-cam! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
The Minimoog is such a beautiful sounding monosynth, and your playing is fantastic!
Still listening to this 9 years later
Amazing sounds
5:43 Damn that sounds good.
Great performance! It sounds like rainbow in curved air! Keep on !
