As an Englishman of a certain age, this brings back memories of my childhood growing up in a small village in northern England. It is a quindecinnial part of Old England along with the village cricket match on Sunday. It was danced to welcome the spring and the end of winter, the Black Morris was danced to welcome the Winter. Don't often see people "Doing the Morris" nowadays and I haven't seen a "Black Morris" for maybe 45 years.
A really lovely video of massed Morris Dancing in the Bury in Odiham. A joint celebration of Hook Eagle Morris Men's 25th birthday and St George's Day. 17 Morris Teams danced in Odiham then toured Hook, Hartley Wintney and Rotherwick
When i got married back in June '85, the whole countries Morrismen (or it seemed) were having a meeting in Abingdon, in the same building as my reception.....they all came in and did a fertility Dance and i had to kiss every single one of them! Result!?? ....... 4 children in 7 years! 😳

Its great to keep the old traditions alive. I wonder if in about 500 years people will be doing the Michael Jackson dance on the streets.
Have I just discovered part of my culture that I didn't know existed?
Watched this quite a few times now :) love it. Can anyone please tell me the title of the song at 4.50?
