Some really incredible voices in this genre. Even though it’s typically written in languages I don’t speak, I still feel I understand it because of how expressive the voices are.
I understand Spanish and Italian and we sang this in choir. I had tears in my eyes throughout. Beautiful music has no language barriers
Music is the universal language, my friend. Not every person will speak the same language nor understand each other. But music does. Lastly, English is one of the worst languages to sing because of the consonances and vowel placement. I’ve sung in school choir and I never liked singing in English.

2 absolutely amazing voices. It always amazes me everytime I watch this. It looks like Sarah is straining every muscle to get her voice that good but Andrea just makes it look so effortless. This is probably my favourite performance of a song of all.
These are the people that Incredible Marcelito emulated . Doesn’t get any better than this. My Husband died 1-12-2020 and this song brought so much comfort.

The music, orchestra is just stellar. And these two artists are stunning. WOW Opera, some think it's not good or they wouldn't like it, but its an ancient form of singing, with storytelling being the aim. You did a good job of reacting. VOICES, no auto tune, not engineering, etc. Pure.

Sarah was a protege of Andrew Lloyd Webber who she later married. She came to fame partly for the her leading role in the stage show Phantom of the Opera. Andrea Bocelli is an accomplished opera singer but also sings popular musical numbers as a very good tenor! You are definitely flirting with stage shows now so you need to start listening to Tim Rice Andrew Lloyd Webber productions such as Evita, Cats, Phantom of the Opera etc

Yes Andrea Bocelli IS blind. His grown son also sings, as well as his daughter who is much younger, and performs with their father quite often now. No, Sarah and Andrea were not in a relationship. She was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber who WROTE the opera PHANTOM of the OPERA, and Sarah was the original "Christine" (the female lead) in "Phantom"

I really like you and Subscibed a long time ago but you should never have paused as it was clearly building to a crescendo and you cut it dead as it was reaching a climax and we all had to get in again. THe first pause I understood but you were really absorbed in it and then you stopped the flow, continuity, and momentum of this masterpiece. lol

Sarah was originally a dancer on Top of the Pops in the UK during the 70's. Later she was Andrew Lloyd Webber's partner - then the voice!
Jayy, her physical touch was helping Andrea to position himself on the stage, on the microphone, and to escort him off the stage.
Sarah was in the Original "Phantom of the Opera" in London and on Broadwary.
Absolutely. The role was actually written for her, as she was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber at the time. We saw her live a couple of years ago, and she can still hit all the notes, despite being in her early 60s, which is really amazing, since the high notes are among the first to disappear as a singer ages.

One of my all time favorite songs. It sends chills through me every time she hits those high notes. They are sooooo good together. And yes, you are right, he is blind. She helps guide him on and off the stage and gets him in position in front of the mic.

He is blind and has the most powerful voice of any human.
I witnessed him twice and sounds the same live as recorded. It's unbelievable the voice he has. You cannot be anything but in awe.
IMO he's the second best vocalist of all time. The only one better is Freddie Mercury.

Andrea Bocelli has had a film about his life story. I would recommend a watch. He was born with eye problems and an unfortunate accident in his youth made him permanently blind. He loved music as it calmed him and from it he learned a vast array of musical instruments as well as listening to opera he found he could sing. It was Luciano Pavarotti who boosted him into the limelight after listening to one of his songs. One of the songs he performed with another famous singer was The Pearl Fishers with Placido Domingo. Excellent.
Fun fact is he is also a lawyer.

Song to the Moon - Rusalka by Dvorak. Which is set with a water nymph in love with a man she saw by the waters edge. So she sings her love to the Moon. Kind of like The Little Mermaid.

If you ever wish to delve into classical music Andre Reiu us a conductor and his whole crew (opera, full orchestra) go on tour. If you look him up you are guaranteed big orchestra epic classical music with a big whack of bright stage performance. My favourite he does is 'Highland Cathedral' with a lovely Manoe Konings on bagpipes. For a woman who has gone through cancer, she can belt a tune out.
