SEA-FISHING with CJ I am currently searching out a boat for myself and trying to be patient and wait for the right one. I have had boats before but this will be my first fishing specific boat. I am particularly interested in anchoring setups and recovery, live wells and keeping sand eel or other baits alive.
Good question! if you get an answer let me know, there used to be a disgorger for small coarse fish that slid down the line and kind of jammed in the bend of the hook, you then pushed twisted and the hook came out, Im looking for something similar, because flat fish all swallow the bait.
Nice video and nice catch! I have never seen the coat hanger spreader boom rigs for sale here in Denmark. Do you know what they are called or where they can be bought?
Yeah hang on ill find a link. Search for icon beaded spreader, they are made by leeda. But there are plenty on ebay. , or they woukdnt be too hard to make, i think Graham Pullen makes them on an episode in totally awesome fishing.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ I found them, thanks. Apparently Fladen make them as well. They call them "Fladen spreader boom". I've always used rigs with two hooks above the sinker or one above and one behind. Do you find the spreader boom to be better?
My last boat was cathedral Hul, and I never had any problems with fish finders, always mounted them adjacent to the 'trough' on one side, having said that ,they seldom work wnen you are moving quickly, whatever the boat. If you can afford it, get a colour one, Im loving my Lowrance HDS Live, its the best fishfinder/ gps I have ever had, but not cheap, I hear good things about dragonflies, but never had one myself, try searching for review videos on You tube, but beware as most reviewers on there wil not say any negatives, but at least you will see it being operated.
I have a selection. I use a zziplex 50lb class and a beast master for Congers. A 15lb class ugly stick, but my current fav is a Penn 6lb class it is so good lots of bend but loads of power too. Think its a Rampage 2, but id have to go and check to be sure.
Another day of 30 32 cm plaice still no big uns but a few gurnards and tiny smooth hounds Im new to Newhaven Dived it loads but is there any bream about When i see you ill let you know where we see v big congers V close to the beach They were there most hi slacks in the daytime in v little water Mad really but like i said ill tell you were and it was always when mackerel are about They prob gorge on the heads etc Take care and be healthy Pete
Great video and what a lovely quality haul of top fish you had. I am a new subscriber thanks to Pauls advice from the Fishlocker so look forward to watching all your other video's and catching up. The booms you fished with, Do you make these yourself? do you have a video showing this if so? A CJ workshop maybe? anyhow thanks for sharing. Vinny
Some nice fish there CJ! That session wasn't by any chance Wednesday 10th June? There were boats drifting right in front of me as I was fishing Tidemills!
What a brilliant video, would love to see plaice like that and am looking forward to the wrecking one as its 4 years dunce I got out on the wrecks, wrecks West of the iow now produce very little 😭😭😭
Thanks it was a special day, never had Plaice in numbers like that before, hopefully the weecking video will be enjoyable, its being a pain to edit, just been trolling for bass in a little inflatable got that to edit too, loving the tube.
The ones I was using are made by Fladen, and you can get them in tackle shops , if you struggle to find some I can send you a link where you can get them online, but always try to buy from your local tackle store first

I really enjoyed watching that session and would love to see more tips on how you set your boat up.
I add little bits on boat set up on each of my videos, anything in particular?

I filmed on tuesday, and did more stuff on rigging anchors etc, i am waiting for a new computer for editing, as soon as im set up i will post it.
great vid, hoping to get the kayak out sunday at seaford, hopefully drifting seems to avoid the spiders
Fingers crossed! have fun
Great vid...just out of interest how do you remove a deep hook...always find it a problem

Hi what fish finder do you recommend for a cathedral hull, not massive money, but does the job, im looking at a Dragonfly 7pro
My last boat was cathedral Hul, and I never had any problems with fish finders, always mounted them adjacent to the 'trough' on one side, having said that ,they seldom work wnen you are moving quickly, whatever the boat. Another nice video thanks for posting what boat rods are you using john

Plenty of Bream about.
Look forward to meeting you. I still have to catch a decent conger off the beach, so would be very interested to see where that is.

Hi mate, thanks for your support, im afraid i buy the plaice spreader booms. Although they would be easy enough to make i guess.
Some nice fish there CJ! That session wasn't by any chance Wednesday 10th June? There were boats drifting right in front of me as I was fishing Tidemills!
Yes it was sorry if we nicked all your fish...
i worked on a netter in the 90s from newhaven peacehaven way was always best for sole seaford bay was the plaice and big ones
Yeah, i found that on that trip, no sole though. Think its too heavily trawled through there now.
What a brilliant video, would love to see plaice like that and am looking forward to the wrecking one as its 4 years dunce I got out on the wrecks, wrecks West of the iow now produce very little 😭😭😭

So you can buy them from a fishing shop then
