    Your videos are great, and Ive learned so much. I have a Very Modified Typhoon H that I use for Search and Rescue, I built a Dropping Mech, to drop supplies to people in need, i have the ST16+ with the 3 antenna spots, I bought the FPVLR 3 long range antennas ( 3 mile range ) w/ Skyview Goggles, then i bought the Marco Polo Drone Tracker, ( just incase ). for what i need, the H was better then the H plus, i use the spot where the REAL Sense would of been for my Search lights. my Obstacle Avoidance works good enough. Since i can keep the Hexcopter going Straight, and I can pan the camera, the included Sonar works great

      John Spat that’s awesome! I’d love to see your rig. 3 mile range!!! That’s great! I loved my H. I had to sell it to get the H+. The camera on the H+ is very good. Did you make your dropping mechanism yourself? I’ve seen the landing gear utilized for this.

      yes i made it myself - i had to find a way to built one that would not be in the way, and that could carry many things such as 1) walkie talkie 2) first aid kit 3) water bottle and 4) Glow stick ( for night rescues) i can also use my rig to drop glowsticks into a nearby tree next to the target, so that Search and Rescuers on foot can spot the tree location from a distance.
      So i needed to build a SMALL and out of the way Dropper, so what i did was I took a Key chain ring and i mounted 1 ring to each leg BEHIND the camera, the i mounted a thin metal rode to the ring, now once i get over my Target or lost person i can just tap my landing gear switch, and i can drop 1 item or as many as i want down to the person, then continue flying to the next person and drop another item. they dropper cost me $1.50 to build, and it is amazing,
      And yes the FPVLR antenna Long range kit was almost $200.00 just for the antennas and now i am about to order another 2 and mount them on the actual copter, and take out the 2.4 tiny ones it has. i dont do it for the Range so much, But in Search and Rescue, i need a 1000% Crisp Connection all the time. so I use the Long Range antennas for the Connection Not so much the distance

      Very cool... Thanks for sharing! I've seen a similar solution here: th-cam.com/video/OYzEop7ZSsc/w-d-xo.html . How do you drop multiple? Do you use parachutes? I am very interested in this!
      I think the glow stick idea is great.
      If only the drone could lift a person and carry them to safety.

      @@shawnfoxhorn depending on the items i need to drop, I have the rod on the Left leg at a different Angle then the right leg. I could not buy the $200 dropper kit for the Yunnec it will get in the way.
      I was using it today, just practicing, I was able to take off, Carrying a Small 12x12in Life Float - 1 walkie talkie and 1 bottle of water,
      i used the rod on the left leg to carry the life vest and the rod on the right to carry the water bottle and walkie, i took it up about 60 ft, and out 180ft out, then i quickly tapped my Landing Gear up HALFWAY, for 2 seconds then back down, - and the Left rod 1st dropped the life vest in 1 spot, then i went 20ft over and hit the landing gear FULLY UP and the right legs Rod then dropped the rest of the items in the other location.
      its all just Engineering. if you can think of it, you can build it. but since my items will be Rescue items will be HEAVY I knew that my Dropper mech, had to be EXTREMELY tiny and light weight, if you are ever on the yuneec forums, i can send you a pic

    Wow I found a Typhoon H in a local Pawn Shop last week and I have some batteries and props on order. Very excited to have a non-DJI Drone for some comparison work. Very good condition and price was sub 450.00 so even better and it qualified for a 6 month no matter what warranty. so if it breaks I lose nothing but the Drone but save all money so good deal. I'm looking forward to warmer Iowa weather to get this in the Air. Nice job.

    Question?? So the camera's are basically the same then?? Thank's in advance. I own one of the first YUNEEC 480's 3 year's old now, and kicking ass like it's brand new!

    • @shawnfoxhorn
      @shawnfoxhorn  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CGO3+ that is on the 480 has a smaller sensor (1/2.3), less fps(4K 30fps) and has inferior range(an antenna was added to the camera on the E90 to increase range). This is the link to the E90 that is on the 520 specs: commercial.yuneec.com/comm-en-e90-overview
      Essentially the Typhoon H Plus is last years H520 without the mapping software.
      The Pan and Tilt functionality is identical as far as I can tell. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the reply n thoughts. Is the Typhoon H Plus controller brightness maintained in direct sunlight? I wish there was someone I knew that flies this specific drone.
    I didn't think about burning out motors due to extra weight n such. I am thinking more about the H Plus now. Are their motors brushless?
    I doubt I'd fly below 25*. Lastly, where's a vendor you'd suggest to if they offer a ultimate bundle. Does a guy want a insurance deal as well? I know DJI offers some.
    Dumb questions I realize to most, but I'd rather buy once n cry once. Thanks Ty

      No screen can compete with direct sunlight. The Yuneec Typhoon H Plus comes with a screen hood, which makes the screen very easy to see on bright days.

    Thanks for the comparison Shawn, but you are messing me up some now. The H-Plus has more features than the Mavic 2 Pro imho. Yet I really like the smaller footprint of the M2P. Now I am reevaluating the 2 side by side.
    If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I'd appreciate your time. I will be flying in open meadows n woodland n hills in northern Michigan. Originally 40yrs in Wyoming which I miss alot. The M2P has self heating batteries if I wanted to fly in colder temperatures. The HPlus not so much, yet I don't have any real time experience with one.
    I'd really like to add a Boston thermal 640 at some point n both drones can accommodate from what I've researched. Any thoughts? An yes, this will be my first drone. Have waited for 7 yrs to get a good one.
    Are these 2 drones brushless motors? An can the A-Plus really fly if a motor fails? Thanks Ty

    • @shawnfoxhorn
      @shawnfoxhorn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus better for the extra 2 blades and the payload capabilities. If you are going to add a thermal camera, then I would definitely go with the Yuneec. The Yuneec has the ability to remove the camera so you can put other payloads without burning out the motors. DJI Mavics are not meant for extra payloads.
      If a blade or motor goes out on any quadcopter... (Spark, Anafi, Mavic Pro/2 Pro/2 Zoom, Phantom... ect.) your drone will fall out of the sky. On the Typhoon H and H Plus, the drone can still fly with 5 functional blades.
      How cold are you wanting to fly at? The Operating Temp of the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus is 0°C - 40°C. I wouldn't fly any drone in below freezing weather.
      I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

    • @bhoff82
      @bhoff82 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main thing to consider here is how much time do you want to put into flying a drone? The Typhoon is going to require a lot more input from the pilot as apposed to the Mavic. Let’s be honest here, yeah 6 motors are neat but you’re not delivering Amazon packages with it. So the payload should just be what’s designed to fit on the drone. They could add to the stability of the model though which would be beneficial to someone using this for AP applications.

    • @shawnfoxhorn
      @shawnfoxhorn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bhoff82 Thanks for your input. I am curious about the extra input from the pilot you are referring to. I get the fact that the Typhoon H Plus has more capabilities that the Mavics, but you can fly it just like a Mavic if you want to.

    • @bhoff82
      @bhoff82 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shawn Ide Studios Correct, but the Mavic controller is just that. A simple remote, compared to the bells and whistles of the Typhoon has to offer in the palm of got hands. I feel like the capabilities of the Typhoon could be overwhelming to someone just starting out, especially as a first drone.
      The Mavic is really plug and play, and the Typhoon requires a bit more to get the same results.

    • @shawnfoxhorn
      @shawnfoxhorn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bhoff82 Good comments. The ST16s controller on the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus is not very complicated. It already has a tablet built in which is easier than dealing with a phone and app. The sticks and controls are very similar. The only big difference is that the camera on the Typhoon H Plus can do more, so it needs a couple knobs.
      If this is your first drone... I would not be dropping over $1,000 on any of these drones. I would suggest a Parrot ANAFI, DJI Spark or DJI Mavic Air. If you are considering the DJI Mavic Pro... Get the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus for the same price.
