he had to hang in there with this houston team... he wanted to leave for years but once they build a contender around '93 thats when hakeem started to realize they got something special
@MDBBall As usual nice vid! NBA is such a joke with all its awards and accolades! Dennis Rodman won the 1990 DPOY award. Sure he locks down his opponents, but how many times as he locked down a team or somebody he wasn’t covering! Hakeem deserved this award almost every year.
Hi Joe I will look into it. It will have to be an upgrade since I might have a few more clips to add and also of better quality. Ill have to find the originals first. Hopefully I'll be able to get to them thanks
@MDBBall Can you put the exact date of the game in the future. The link to Basketball Reference doesn’t appear as a hyperlink, or at least on the mobile app it doesn’t.
@@hectorlopez1069As a native Houstonian, I love all my Houston teams - Rockets, Oilers, Texans, Astros and their star players - Olajuwon, Malone, Ryan, Biggio, Earl, etc., BUT I still wish Hakeem went to another team because of the way they treated him.
@MDBBall NBA DPOY Joke - Maybe the years people like Robison, Eaton, Mutombo, and Mourning, especially in Hakeem’s later years, might be justified, BUT how much off ball defense did they play. When did Mutombo or Eaton go chase a guard down and make him either turn the ball over or pass, where if they did pass, m they could not recover back to their man like Hakeem would. Now let’s get to the guys with the asterisk (*) next to their name. I mean Robertson, Cooper, Jordan, Rodman and Payton over Hakeem or maybe even Robinson!? Seriously!? What a joke! The greatest defensive player of all time
There will never be another Hakeem
He was one of one
Also will never be another Chick Hearn “Slaaam dunk!” Give and go. Popcorn machine. Et al

Olajuwon was sweet in every game he played in.

@@MDBBall could you please re-upload Shaq Attack series on Mutombo, Olajuwon and Mourning ?

Ok will try to fix that thanks
@@MDBBall Thanks. I think it’s just the app or something, but doesn’t have anything to do with you or your post.
30 years ago, today, the Rockets played against the Knicks for game 1 of the 1994 NBA Finals.
the lakers commentators must have heard rumors they could get olajuwon and were extra nice. they even said the block on cooper wasnt a foul.
did chick really try to sell olajuwon on coming to l.a cause of the women? haha what a guy
Man if Jerry West would've been able to get Hakeem to LA. Even with Magic retiring Hakeem with Ceballos Van Exel Jones would've been a major problem.
No way we want Hakeem out of Houston. Houston is his city.

Hakeem beat these guys from pillar to post before they beat his squad.
