The biggest detail for me that you never hear or see in games isn’t the slide stop lever on handguns, but the sound of the soldier grabbing his next mag from a pouch that you can hear almost like a zipper sound! Pretty cool.

Zipper is very unlikely tho, most of Mag Pouches are Open or Semi-Closed, only Held secure by a Strap with a Velcro, except for Older 1960s model, those Do have Zippers because they're fully enclosed
I can’t say this is true for certain, but one of the details I appreciate in this game is the slide stop engaging the slide on the pistols. Not even MW2019 did this except for the 1911 (probably because some of the guns were modeled with slide cutouts in the wrong spots).
Mw19 uses the slidestop in slight of hand animations.
@@ThisIsNoir yes they do use the slide releases for those. However, if you look closely at the pistols when the slide is locked back, you’ll see that the slide locks are not engaging the slides and are in their resting position. The 1911 is void of this criticism however since it is the only one to portray this function properly.

One of my favorite details about insurgency that I never see in other games is the little sound of the soldier, reaching into a pouch or a zipper, and pulling out a new magazine or stripper/en bloc clip.

the pace of the game is slow, so the reloads need to be slow, but the reload seem so calm, they need to give some of the reloads urgency, but i think it's easier said than done

They are almost as good as MW2019, but the anims doesn't have a urgency to them, it's like a relaxing time at the fire range kind of speed on them

People have been saying that to the animator for years in his own channel when he still made HL2 reanims
If you want a bit urgency to them than put the speed to 2.0x
Watching this in 1.5x is definitely the way they should do it
I mean, they do feel a little slow, but you can't compare with mw2019, where the reloads speed consists of taking a shot of meth and then reloading the gun, the gun is all shaky and the character just jams the magazine and bolt like with alot of force, poor gun's get abused on that game by a meth addict who can't stop shaking and beating the guns
@@diogopaiva3021 I don't think you understand how you need to be urgent while reloading your gun. Plus you can rough house your gun in order for the ammo to actually chamber.

One thing I would consider is that maybe they should make the reload times slightly faster. I understand they ain't Spec Ops like the ones in COD but maybe atleast make it so that they don't look like they are in a firing range.

What I was taught about reloading an AK was that the right hand never leaves the handle, left hand does the work of removing magazine, tossing it into dump pouch and then putting in new one, before pulling the charging handle with it from below. its an awfully difficult maneuver. Only in emergencies would one grab a new mag instantly and push the old one free with the magazine itself... humh.

Mw takes all the praise, but these are the best reloads I’ve ever seen
I like these reloads, but Insurgency reload animations are damn slow. Still tho, this thing was undoubtly one of the most satisfying reload animations i've ever seen.
@@Zykov but it's true, sometimes, reloading weapons can be slow for anyone who got first gun (licence for weapons), yes i know box of bullets lore can be incorrect in games, but devs force so much, because you need put bullets in mags.

Satisfying reloads
My problem with these reloads is not that they're slow, per se, it's just the lack of urgency in them. These are characters that are engaged in combat and they're reloading like they're down at the range. The animation doesn't need to be CoD fast, but this feels too unhurried.
Literally fast reload.
If you want panic, then also ask to add fumbling animations, dropping full mags, fail to pull the charging handle all the way etc.
Only reason why I run the grenade lancher for the ARs is for that slap.

Reload speeds are like he is reloading guns in the playing field like it's his backyard, it's almost like he's not in a war at all.
If it would be realistic he would have been doing it faster yeah but as you can imagine he would have fail to reload smoothly because of the adrenaline. So this is good i guess

If I'm sent in a battlefield, I would never reload this slow, unless the tides are calm.
Faster meaning not including precision or accuracy upon reloading or wielding a gun. Only speed.

The weapon reloads are slow i know, but i like the detail a lot. Nice to see how Mr.Brightside was evolved, from CSS skins to working for a game, it's nice to see his work being put to use. Before saying "omg they are slow because they are realistic" real soldiers are trained to reload their weapon faster, not to mention modern firearms don't require mag tapping, even have slings made for easier weapon switching. The motion you see seems like reloading the weapon might make it faster, but for some reason it's still slow for me, maybe they just have to speed it up slightly, i've died many times because the guy takes too long to reload, actual soldier are trying to prevent that.
Bruh, detail, revolver ejects case without press extraction rod( and somehow it costs huge supply just for the basic speed loader), FAL lacks of bolt released and mag released (i know the model does have mag released but it's not right, and i still can't see where the hack bolt released the character just pulled), both Glock and P227 in game don't have slide released which mindblowing, all pistols hold wrong position, all extended mag for AR family gun are drum mag which is wrong in real life (it weights like 40 kg or something, the animation is even more ridiculous coz extended mag doesn't make bolt released useless), the emergency reload for Tar-7 is wrong, modern model has mag released right upon mag, behing your shooting hand, so you just simply pushes back by your thump to release a mag not like the character. AK-74 and its variants emergency reload also are wrong, you have to use your thump to push the mag out, not by a fresh mag, doing it and the mag quickly damages.
@@hailuong9295 many wrong things you just said. How the fuck does the drum mag weight 40kg, are you high? You can eject revolver rounds without the ejection rod, the ejection rod is just in case the casings get stuck or just for easier reload, the AK is reload is called mag bump. The pistols aren't held wrong, that's how you'll hold it while hip firing, and the slide release is used while the fast reload, seriously go learn about firearms before commenting.
well it would make sense for it to be slow, especially on the insurgent side, they are not soldiers, but standard terrorists/civilians idk. but they lack the training that the security has. and thus the reloads are slower. this isn't your standard military soldier here.

@@Immolator772 he’s right about the revolver, you should just train to use the extractor rod since it’s reliable. Drum mags are heavy as fuck (not sure how heavy 40kg), not to mention odd to carry, and he’s also right about the way the animation depicts someone using the charging handle. If you’ve ever used the charging handle while the bolt is back you get no resistance when pulling it back until you reach the point where you release the bolt so the animation doesnt look right. And I wouldn’t reload like this in combat. Soldiers practice reloads and shit all the time. Good ones do anyways.

Everyone slates how slow the reloads are, they’re slow because they’re accurate to real life, plus, you can either reload this speed and keep your mag, or do it quicker and lose it, the ones who say they’re too slow, most of them have probably never even fired/seen a real life gun.
Slow doesn't mean realistic. MW2019s reloads are fast yet realistic due to the operators having many years of experience. These reloads are just a touch too slow

I don’t like how these supposed “realistic shooters” or mil-sims always slow the reload animation waaay down to the point that it feels like the operator is intentionally doing it in slow-mo to overemphasize on the realism aspect of their game. I have friends that served in the military who told me that a lot of solders with proper training reload just as fast if not faster than the characters we play as in faster pace shooters like COD or battlefield. Keep in mind that it’s just my own opinion.
It's more a gameplay design choice, you can't have fast paced reloads in a slow paced game because that would disrupt the flow of it

The audio and texture design in this game are both outstanding. The animators have clearly handled firearms before, or at least have a working knowledge of the manual of arms for these weapons...but holy shit these reload animations are slow. There is zero sense of urgency in any of the movements; you don't even reload this slowly at a gun range, let alone the speed you'd being going when in a live fire situation.
EDIT: Someone made a comment below about 1.25x speed being a "normal" reload, and after playing the video at 1.25x speed the reloads looked 420% better.
