My wife died of cancer on our 12th anniversary in May 2022. This song deeply expresses so many of my emotions. Things I don’t even know how to express. Especially captures the gratitude I have for 12 years with my soul mate. Thank you, Billy.
I had never cried at live music in over 10 years of going. I saw Billy for the first time at Summer Camp and it was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard in my life and I cried the happiest tears of my life. What a gift he has given the world!
@Infamous Grizzly I've heard that said, but as far as I can tell, Billy has been very clear about where the 33 comes from. His Grandpa was a race car driver and his car's number was 33. Just saw recently that Billy now sponsors an IMCA modified car. Seems anyone with even an ounce of fame needs to find one of the 4 possible numbers that don't somehow align them with Freemasonry, to appease the "everyone is a Freemason" cult.
Maggy May taught me how to transcend space and time and bring my dad back in my life. I appreciate everything that Maggy May did for me. I'm always here for her.
I have no words for this song and Billy's voice. It's like a ghost sitting next to me, whispering what's important in life.. So powerful and left me sayin damn you Billy for making me a puddle!!! A song hasn't touched me like this in forever. Hug your person today and always and never let go. Hands down Billy is a treasure to say the least.
I had the same reaction as you did. I was shocked at Billy's vulnerability. Bluegrass definitely has a heartbreak component to it, but this had such a depth, the sharing of innermost feelings of love and fears of rejection. Those feelings of, "Am I enough?" And paired with such divine music. I'm actually just kind of stunned right now.
"And in the evening when the sun is running low, I'll walk bravely through the fields of burning embers, and I'll remember everything she said to me back when our love was first in bloom." Fucking poetry!
The thing that stands out the most in the studio version is Jarrod Walker’s mandolin. He seems to be playing a perfect harmony over whatever Billy is picking/singing the entire song. So well arranged
Dammit billy. I heard this song in my truck, coming home from evacuating from Ida, and you made this veteran cry. Your music is inspiring and made me pick my guitar back up. So thanks for that you fuck.
I dedicate this song to my only brother. Last year I wished him a Happy Birthday, January 13th, just two days later He passed away. He lived in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was in a band. I miss and love you, Nick. He was a big fan of Billy Strings. My older brother played guitar, and was really good. We've been through a lot together, now all I have are the memories.
RIP Nick. I will say a little prayer and play a little tune in your honor tonight. I hope your family finds peace knowing your name is still spoken. You sound like an awesome dude.
saw him play this at the mission in Colorado on Sunday. Never cried that hard to a song before. The line "not sure if i deserve, all the love that I receive, so i give it all to her" was what got me. I think alot of people can relate to this feeling of receiving unlimited love from everyone around you and feeling guilty about the past. Wondering if you deserve any of this love, because of wrongdoings in the past. When it just becomes too much, you just need to give it away. I think everyone deserves a second chance, at life, at love, and at friendship. You can always change the person you are. Nothing is ever permanent. Each and every moment is different from the last. Its called a renewal and thats what its all about. Thank you Billy for this masterpiece!

This is how you KNOW that a song is good. It FORCES you to feel. You can’t help it. If you’re listening, you’re feeling what the creator wants you to feel. Sad songs in particular are the most powerful, in my opinion. And billy strings really knows how to wrench your heart with his lyrics, his voice, and his guitar. I salute you billy, a true artist
This song is such a gem. Capital Theater, Deja Vu Experiment, 2/18/21 was my 1st listen of it. I knew immediately that true admiration and love created the moment that inspired the song. Billy’s talent brought it to life. So grateful for this young man, his band, and his music. The live shows are amazing and this album is what the world needs NOW. 🐐🤘🔥 9/24/21 can’t come soon enough.
What a stunning song. These artists are what our world needs now more than ever. Thank yall for this beautiful baby of an album. We feel your love and light alll around!!
Agreed. It is a stunning song. Music brings people together, inspires, and helps us heal. We need that now more than ever. Thank you Billy and band, well done.
Bless his pure talent, determination and raw courage. He pushes everything is the absolute best of ways. A hard- earned fearlessness he shares with fire and grace. I'm 53 year old punk/metal head, grew up in LA, saw and loved all music from the ♡. When I stumbled across the first post of Dust in a Baggie a while back i knew this kid had just unlocked a secret passage between hardcore metal and blistering flat picking bluegrass. And then Turmoil and Tinfoil confirmed he was driving the perfect Hellbound Hayride. Check the Grand Old Opry performance. He annihilated convention, frustrated the old folks, ultimately blew their minds. And now the lad has a Grammy. Life isn't all shit yet. Keep going Billy, the world really needs your mojo. No pressure. ♡☆♡

I truly can't find the words to express how this song makes me feel, and my god ive tried. I don't think there are any.
The part of the video with the old man and his wife kills me every time.
Heck yeah Billy! So appreciate all you do. From honoring sweet ol Jerry Garcia to all your amazing stuff. Stay strong and keep on trucking! 🙏🏽
howdy, pal!... what a video!!!... glad to here from you!!!
@@krissantos8178 🙂it always brings a huge smile to face seeing you Kris, especially outside of the gnuWorld! 🙏🏽✌🏽💨💫
Glad I live in times of billy strings
This song is such a gem. Capital Theater, Deja Vu Experiment, 2/18/21 was my 1st listen of it. I knew immediately that true admiration and love created the moment that inspired the song. Billy’s talent brought it to life. So grateful for this young man, his band, and his music. The live shows are amazing and this album is what the world needs NOW. 🐐🤘🔥 9/24/21 can’t come soon enough.
What a stunning song. These artists are what our world needs now more than ever. Thank yall for this beautiful baby of an album. We feel your love and light alll around!!
I cried like a baby, for real
I watch my grandparents get old and lose each other to death. It's the hardest thing to watch. Thank you billy
God bless them for seeing the vows they took through to the end. I hope the ever after sees them still together.
Hard to reconcile an America that wants their government to control a women’s choice and women’s body and an America that wants to embrace the freedom and artistry of Billy Strings.
I have so many memories in that house, I’ve never seen it so empty
I just heard dust in a baggie for the first time and THIS JAM IS BRAND NEW.
thats where it starts for many... lol
Wow. You'll never regret coming to Billy's Channel. I promise 😉🙃
I was there to watch this live on Friday the 10th of December....I was sitting in the handicap section with my dad who is in a wheelchair. MY PARENTS absolutely loves this song and you played it right off the beginning my parents were SOOO happy. Billy Strings, i have your Set 2 SET LIST! My hands were shaking as a carried it out of the venue. You are one of a kind! If i weren't a 13 year old with no income i would come to all your concerts! I've never cheered so much in my life.... I was literally 10 freaking feet away from you when you stepped down off the stage towards the Handicap section!! There are no words to explain what i felt in that moment.....Maybe when I've got money of my own i'll pay to be in the VIP crew so I can meet you....Crazy to imagine i can buy my way into meeting you....I'd be speechless if I met you.....🤩🥴🤗...You are Amazing, Awesome, Spectacular, Talented as crap, and SOOOO much more! Everytime he plays this live I've bawled like a baby. In a good way. Thanks Billy and the boys.✌️
The violin gets me every time this song is on. It's one of the most gentle sounds ever. Thanks, Billy, for soothing our souls.
