I'm a solo rider 99.9% of the time, I've ridden in large groups to clubs and honestly a small group of known friends is the best experience I've found, I gave up on Xmas toy runs years ago way too unpredictable and nerve racking, also some rides have rules and protocols and I strongly believe life has too many of those so riding solo gives you a bit more free reign so to speak.
The reason why I ride alone is because of the freedom. It's not that I'm running from something or hiding. It's all the rules and bullshit that comes with group riding.
I’m 63 now, the older I get the more I like my solitude, and riding solo. I even ditched my girlfriend of 4 years lately. I go where I want, when I want, and with whoever I want, and I luv riding solo…luv my life now…drama free zone🏍️💨🔥🇨🇦✌️😎
Great vid mate. I ride alone 99% of the time, I wouldn’t mind riding with a group, I can see some benefits as you have pointed out in this vid. For me riding alone just means I can do what I want when I want…. Sometimes it can be hard to commit to an organised ride….
I like to ride on my own, like you've mentioned, you do as you please. I enjoy the peace of solo. It clears my head, blasting off into yonder, wherever that may be, instantly feeling better about being me. I like people, but enjoy the solice, the alone time, as when I return home, I'm tired but not, I've endured the ride, the weather, the scenery and serenity that comes with riding alone...✌🏽❤️😎
There is Nothing Worse than Herd Mentality, the joy of riding alone or with your significant other!...Is the Clarity you get, in your thoughts/mind.Its You, the Road, and the Machine.Very Therapeutic!
When my wife and I started riding our Harley-Davidsons we thought group riding would be the safest way to gain experience. Actually we were wrong. It ended up being the most stressful almost dangerous. Always a few riders who were erratic and couldn’t follow group riding rules then it effects everyone especially at intersections and parking. We ride together now as a twosome and enjoy it a whole lot better. We pick our group rides carefully now. Waiting on those new patches…..great content. Thank you.
😎👍 Big thumbs up for the channel... I actually started riding again several years ago because of the virus, as a way to get out of the house while social distancing... Now being retired, long time divorced, and no kids, I have the ability to ride wherever I want, to any destination... Any day of the week if I want to just get out and ride around a local lake for a few hours, or go on a 3 day ride I just go...... Lately, on 2 occasions my plans for a 4 hour ride turned in to, a 12 or 14 hour ride because I didn't feel like stopping... Isn't that the ultimate freedom? Because in my mind, at least, i am living the dream Brother....
Prefer to ride alone, stop whenever for as long as i want, ride at my own pace and take the roads that i want to ride. Then i am able to see stuff that i want to see and without trying to please and accommodate anyone. I also like meeting people and socializing within group rides; Bike riding and travelling is something we all have in common. Camaraderie! Finding your videos interesting and uplifting. You should go on a BDR, one of their one dayer especially in the country areas such as Kerang Vic.
I concur. I travel around the the US for work and do 99% of my riding alone. I miss riding with friends but not large groups. I was a power ranger in the day but feel much more comfortable on my road king. Keep up the good work, love the positive vibes.
Outstanding channel, sir. Great video. I ride alone most of the time. It is fun to ride in a group every now and again though. Why your channel isn't 10 times the size it is currently is bewildering. Stay Vigilant. :)
Hi i'm louie fr. Phils. I'm a HOG member Wheeltek Cavite Chapter... i ride by group, sometimes with OBR my wife... if our budget is limited, then, i ride with OBR, my wife... i like your round patch... more power to your channel...😊😊😊😊
Greetings from America love watching your videos. For me I use to ride in the 80's and couple months back i started riding again. Since i have been riding by myself i feel so relieved to ride solo. It takes away stress and anxiety plus learning to ride all over again is great. My good friend ask me to ride with him to meet up for his group and i did. Was nice meeting new people but for me was my first time riding in a group formation. I learn all the signals for group rides i was kind of excited and overwhelmed at the same time.I did a good job for the first time trying to keep the group tight catching up being in the 4 slot in the front of a group of 24+. I still have a lot to learn but i kind of like both.
I like riding with small groups or alone, both can be relaxing and stimulating. I ride with the VFW riders a couple times a year and we do trips over 1000 miles. Maybe because we are all ex military that we stay in formation and ride with common sense . Also we always have a cause we are riding for, we are veterans helping veterans. We all ride Harley Davidsons and they sound awesome in a group. Generally there are between 8 &10 bikes. Enjoyed the video and was the first time you introduced your wife as far as I've seen on your videos, lovely lady. I'm guessing she is not as enthusiastic about riding as you are? Keep the shiney side up.. Jack
As an American Legion Rider, I participate in a lot of benefit rides with other Legion Riders. Most of these rides are yearly events so I've known a lot of these folks for years and have ridden with them many times. If you are familiar with the people in your group, it makes for a more relaxed, enjoyable ride. Also, when wearing our patches, we represent the American Legion so there is a code we follow. (Again, MOST of us do. There is always an ass out there somewhere). All this being said, I think the most enjoyable rides for me, are when my wife and I just pick a direction and have a nice ride to lunch somewhere out of the way. Why ride 50 miles just for lunch? Because we can. Thanks for the great video, as always. "The shiny side goes up". :)
Solo riding is the way to go for me. It only works for others if you're confident in your machine and your skills and don't 'need' other blokes around you to have a good time. Nice to meet the OND wife - what a patient woman she must be :-)
Greetings from Minneapolis Minnesota! I started riding because I wanted to get out with friends. I’ve since found I prefer to ride alone most of the time. I enjoy riding at my pace and going wherever I choose without adhering to the schedules of other’s.
I enjoy riding with my group, unfortunately, on August 22. I had a stroke, and riding on my own definitely makes a difference for me. I rode from Townsville to Tailem Bend September 23 on my own a total of 8000 km in 4 weeks, had to make lots of stops due to my health, but loved every bit of my trip.
My "group riding" consists of my brother and two cousins. Weve ironed out the moves and signals so at this point it is very enjoyable and a once a month treat. Most of my riding is solo and I enjoy that as well.
Riding with the same group is good, you work out their style, I rode with AMC sunny coast for 10 years and they where great rides, national rally to Victoria in 2010 with Bundy chapter to Albury was good then down to Broadford with 100+ Harley's down the Hume was awesome, I have an other harley now, time to rejoin, Riding alone is great too, ido alot of that too😊
I ride alone mainly- I don’t have the time to devote to a club. I do like riding with a group of mates or people you meet on the way. It’s good to get the benefit of riding with a better rider but always ride you own ride! Don’t try to do what you can’t do or keep up when it’s not safe as tail end Charlie. Some lovely bikes there. Looks like a good scene Safe rides 👍🤜
Fair mix of bikes. Agree about group rides. Prefer not to ride with unknown riders. One BIG headf*ck in groups is the continual waiting.. servos - pubs- piss stops...
Yeah I prefer to ride alone than in groups because when I'm riding in the group there's that extra responsibility that needs to be extended for the people that are riding around with you, when I'm on my own I tend to relax more than when I'm up on a group ride, And yeah I do tend to ride hard at times and my pegs will attest that but then there are times I like to dauddle 😊
You do a great job presenting A lot of riding experience. I love riding by myself . When I ride in a organized group I alway try to ride with bikers that ride as close to my style of riding , speed , organization is a big plus , I am in my 60,s and I ride more conservative , and want to ride for many more years on my Street Glide , thanks , Brian
Not a fan of pack mentality, but in saying that, there's nothing quite like riding for a great cause with many other riders. I prefer riding with a small group or just family. But riding solo is great when you aren't having to look out for anyone else and can do your own thing. Was lovely to meet Mrs. Old not dead. Thanks for another great video (and I'm not offended by your "Power ranger" comments.
Another great video mate! Some very valid ideas about both riding in a group or simply by one's self! Both have their merits... depends on how I feel on the day! Getting out for the ride is what counts! Ride safe mate 😎
When I’m traveling to rallies or just an extended multi day ride I prefer to do it alone, although I always have my two buds smith and wesson with me. I have done a patriot ride with 2000 riders and all went well. The camaraderie of many riders is very fun as well.
I prefer to ride alone as there are no rules that we face every day, so good way to get away from that shit and just enjoy the elements that come when riding specially on a harley 👍
Hey Aymen, you are bang on about vitamin D. One of the most important vitamins to take. The government should be telling people about the benefits but big pharma wouldn’t allow it because they want us sick. I take 10,000iu’s a day and 200 mcg of of k2, and haven’t had a cold for years. Keep up the good work, go the power rangers 😂
As a Past President of an MC, I rode with the Club for years, but these days, this "elder statesman" prefers riding alone. I do still join the occasional charity ride, of course, but "parade" riding really isn't my style. Thanks and keep the interesting content coming.
Yet another thought provoking video Aymen not sure if I should be offended or not ! I’ll choose not ! I agree it’s difficult to ride with big groups who seemingly have no idea of order for rides nor do many seem to care less .. not sure it’s only Harley riders who do know how to ride in formation however I manage it !! 😊
great video mate .... my preference is to ride alone or with one or two friends. My issues with groups is i don't know them and watching riding styles and peoples behaviours on bikes in this setting is too exhausting which makes the ride unenjoyable for me. What really sucks here in the USA is there are a ton of riders that don't know how to corner or ride on country / 2 lane roads without wiggling all over the place and crossing centre lines. I am an expat Kiwi so windy 2 lane roads are what i grew up with.
Riding in large groups with others you don't know, sucks. Always great riding with a few mates you know well. I've abandoned all supplements since "covid". wouldn't touch another product made by essentially the same parent companies of pharmaceuticals. Rip the shirt off at any glimmer of sunshine, eat raw organic butter, milk, eggs and meat and leave the rest to Mother Nature.
I got 1 riding brother all the rest quit or passed away I like riding alone most of the time helps my brain and soul. Besides you won't see a Harley parked at a shrinks office.
Mostly alone, 3 others tops, close friends and my son. Been on group rides, not for me. Enjoy stopping when I want, going where I want. Strength in numbers tho…… either way, just ride!!!😂
I end up riding alone because the boys won’t go as far on their wide glides and rocker c as I do on the street glide, but I am finding other friends who will go on long rides.
I ride a lone a lot. love to ride in rally's, friends, new people, fun for the cause and, my wife will ride with me. thanks Amen for the hat and patch, the freaking hat is AWESOME quality. GET YOU SOME NORTH AMERICA!
I usually ride alone or with a few good mates. Group rides with hundreds of riders isn't my thing, I've done it and found it stressful, too many unpredictable riders, usually it has to said, on race reps!
Group riding you deal with inexperienced riders and not knowing how others ride, also riders that haven’t ridden in big groups. But in saying that I love it. Also love me time on my own.
I ride with a guy that I’ve known for 50 years and that’s enough. Group rides are different because of the levels of ability and the posers who have to be at the front ha!!!😊
Lane splitting where legal makes sense when traffic is stopped because of all the air cooled motors that will self destruct when left to idle for long periods . Lane splitting at full highway speed even if legal is just stupid and if you play with fire it's only a matter of time before you get burned and you will get burned. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. :) Good luck and I do enjoy watching the content on your channel.
Thanks, the different lens distort the distances so it appears the cars are close together/ next to each other - and the video (which is for entertainment) is pieced together from all sorts of footage and doesn't always reflect my riding
Amon, let's do a coast to coast road trip sometime. I'll fly down, rent a bike and ride. I have no problem doing 1000miles/day so were looking at a one week round trip. Ok two weeks if we play tourist.
Aymen I’ve learned to balance my time . Time with myself Priceless, time socializing greatest memories and some ruff ones too lmao 🤣 but no regrets YOLO
Great video. Nice to see the variety of bikes. I ride my Harley solo most of the time. Also, what made you "flip the bird" at the white VW at time count 8:10? All the best to you !
Since you're the bloke doing vids on Harley's & Harley riders & Bikie wannabees, maybe you would consider explaining what the connection is between Harley's & skulls. I've asked quite a few Harley owners & Bikie wannabees & all I get is "I just like em". Ofcourse, this doesn't explain why they want to display skulls whenever they ride their Harley's so, maybe you could explain or, you Could just put another little red heart near my comment.
See my video on the topic "skulls and symbols" but on top of that all sysmbols have meanings which are layered. Some have an effect on the owner and some have an effect on the viewer - you may not even be aware you are under a spell. P.S thats a very arrogant way to start a question.
I get it trust me. But you dont challenge a cage going down the rode, youll never win that fight. In todays mindless rage its even more certain you wont. However...following and then toe to toe in some park'n lots a much better choice🤙. Smarts winnable...be safe and enjoy D ride people🇺🇲🤙🇺🇲
Hey Man thanks for the great videos,, my wife and I started out riding vespas 2 years ago and traded them up for 2 Harley 48 1200s we ride together and don’t have much interest in groups.. Cheers from Southern California 👍🏻👍🏽 OH Yeah what brand of glasses do your wear
Wow! Great Vid. I went on a "Group Ride" from Melb to Mt. Gambier this weekend. I ride a Vstar 650 (until I can get off my LAMS - 3 years in VIc. FML) that tops out at 140 / 145....The front runners got upto 160 - 170 at some points on the twisties (all Harleys and Indians) felt like I was holding the group up....Don't think I'll go on another interstate trip with them until I can get a bigger bike....even then, not sure if I'm comfortable doing lose your licence speeds as my licence is my livelihood.
@@OldNotDead-Club Yeah, that would be nice.....They park up out the back of a pub where you cant see them, and went in for lunch. Another guy and I searched for 20 mins. until we called someone in the group.
@@cphillips3513 well if its a small group they have done the wrong thing, but it always seems happens in the larger groups - they seem to be disorganised and the group splits. I guess it would require prior planning for stops etc..
Another great vlog. Mate. Yup both have their advantages. I'm not into big groups as much. Due as U were saying. The weekend warrior's. Thinking they can ride. And make dicks of them selfs. But a good group with a great understanding. Of pack riding is great. Keep up the good work.
In the uk people will block you on filtering it’s only started in the last 10 years as we have a lot of multi cultural families moved in as guests and mostly they are not aware of old established manners on the roads also the road sat nav’s send cars round a roundabout on the outside to turn off instead of the old inside causing bang ups
I like a group at times, but only with friends that I’ve ridden with in the past. It’s safer when you know how people ride around you in a group. I’m assuming you ship to the U.S.? How long does an order take to ship to Florida?
Don't get me wrong, if you're a club rider you've made the commitment to all rules. Most club riders know what's going on anyway. But big events just like the blessing of the bikes. It's total chaos and a free for all. No structure what so ever. That's my opinion anyway. Sorry if I've pissed anyone off!
Riding in a group is dangerous. Because you have different skill levels, between the group of riders. A real risk of running into the back of other riders!!
Just like to point out that in group rides it not all just the Power Rangers that cause issues, what about the classic $70k Harley Owners that have 4,000klm on their bikes and ONLY ride in events like GP run or Xmas rides etc. They are bloody dangerous too with little to no experience (shown by the K’s on their rides). I’ve seen a HD stack just in front of me on a similar huge group rides years ago trying to “catch up” to the group in front. As we know in these big groups one minute your doing the speed limit next minute brake lights everywhere and a complete stop. This HD rider locked his brakes and high sided due to not paying attention. Like the GP ride for the amount of bikes but it can be full of inexperienced riders.
I ride alone I enjoy my solitude I stop when I feel like and I ride long days 1000ks is a good day not many will ride the hours or the conditions that I am prepared to Mango
I ride alone yeah, with nobody else you know when I run alone, I prefer to be by myself . that way I can do what I want go as fast as I want slow as I want without any whingeing. just saying
Lane splitting at speed is not only dangerous, it's rude and shows a level of impatience that will help get you killed. Doing it at 30kph has it's own issues but at express way speed is just plain pathetically stupid
Thanks for your riding advice, lucky it's not me doing that. You Tube is for entertainment purposes - 1. wide angle lenses distort distances and 2. some of the clips are from other riders etc. spliced in. I would never do something dangerous, rude, impatient or even illegal... so surely - perhaps even guaranteed that I am not pathetically stupid... or triggered.

I think its nice to go to a meeting like this. But mostly and personaly i love 2 be together with my bike. Were very close friends my bike and i 😂
Ummm, cause my Line Wolf jus kicked in. Not into party rides, period.

The government should be telling people about the benefits but big pharma wouldn’t allow it because they want us sick. I take 10,000iu’s a day and 200 mcg of of k2, and haven’t had a cold for years. Keep up the good work, go the power rangers 😂
Well done and spot on
A good mix of both riding styles is healthy and fun!
True, thanks for watching
I ride alone mostly, I have done a couple of charity/social runs.
Thanks
As a Past President of an MC, I rode with the Club for years, but these days, this "elder statesman" prefers riding alone. I do still join the occasional charity ride, of course, but "parade" riding really isn't my style. Thanks and keep the interesting content coming.
Thanks for watching, appreciated
Yet another thought provoking video Aymen not sure if I should be offended or not ! I’ll choose not !
I agree it’s difficult to ride with big groups who seemingly have no idea of order for rides nor do many seem to care less ..
not sure it’s only Harley riders who do know how to ride in formation however I manage it !! 😊
Thanks for watching
I love to ride in a small group of 3 to 6 riders. Those huge group rides, personally don't want anything to do with it.
That size group is ideal if you know them
Excellent rider I wish I could ride like that
Great vid Aymen!
Thanks! Appreciated
great video mate .... my preference is to ride alone or with one or two friends.
Thanks
Riding in large groups with others you don't know, sucks. Always great riding with a few mates you know well. I've abandoned all supplements since "covid". wouldn't touch another product made by essentially the same parent companies of pharmaceuticals. Rip the shirt off at any glimmer of sunshine, eat raw organic butter, milk, eggs and meat and leave the rest to Mother Nature.
❤
Thanks wise words!
I got 1 riding brother all the rest quit or passed away I like riding alone most of the time helps my brain and soul. Besides you won't see a Harley parked at a shrinks office.
Wise words and I'm sorry to hear about your riding pals. Ride safe
Mostly alone, 3 others tops, close friends and my son. Been on group rides, not for me. Enjoy stopping when I want, going where I want. Strength in numbers tho…… either way, just ride!!!😂
Well said!
Teamwork makes the DreamWork
Spot on mate!
I end up riding alone because the boys won’t go as far on their wide glides and rocker c as I do on the street glide, but I am finding other friends who will go on long rides.
Yeah type of bike makes a huge difference to distance. One reason I changed across to the SG
I ride a lone a lot. love to ride in rally's, friends, new people, fun for the cause and, my wife will ride with me.
thanks Amen for the hat and patch, the freaking hat is AWESOME quality. GET YOU SOME NORTH AMERICA!
Thanks you
Most of the best rides you do will be on your own /
Thanks - sometimes
Riding alone is always preferred for me. I rode with groups for year. My wife hates it though.
Many ride alone
Great vid with good info 👍
Thanks 👍 appreciated
I usually ride alone or with a few good mates. Group rides with hundreds of riders isn't my thing, I've done it and found it stressful, too many unpredictable riders, usually it has to said, on race reps!
Thanks
Group riding you deal with inexperienced riders and not knowing how others ride, also riders that haven’t ridden in big groups. But in saying that I love it. Also love me time on my own.
We mostly do rides with Harley/Cruiser riders which are normally pretty good.
Both ways of riding is fun
Alone is always a favorite
Btw! Wind is the worst when it’s strong.
Loved this video! Great work, mate!🙌
Thanks Eric much appreciated , talk soon got some good news
Love the video 😊😊😊
Thanks Blake much appreciated
Watch out for the giant rubberband effect. Be safe, 3-5 bikes is my preference but large group rides do so much good.
I ride with a guy that I’ve known for 50 years and that’s enough. Group rides are different because of the levels of ability and the posers who have to be at the front ha!!!😊
Yep they can be tricky
Ride on your own or ride with a group but ride 😊😊
Lol great point
You make beautiful videos
Thanks, appreciated
Amon, let's do a coast to coast road trip sometime. I'll fly down, rent a bike and ride. I have no problem doing 1000miles/day so were looking at a one week round trip. Ok two weeks if we play tourist.
Thanks, it depends on when and what other commitments I have at the time
Enjoyed the clip mate. Well done!
Thanks Aaron
Aymen I’ve learned to balance my time . Time with myself Priceless, time socializing greatest memories and some ruff ones too lmao 🤣 but no regrets YOLO
Wise words
Aymen, silly question, but what's considered a Power Ranger. Google answer not very clear. Loved the video.
I'm just teasing sports bike riders because they always have a go at Harley riders
Great video. Nice to see the variety of bikes. I ride my Harley solo most of the time. Also, what made you "flip the bird" at the white VW at time count 8:10?
All the best to you !
I think the VW driver crossed into Aymen's lane without usings the indicators.
Hard swerve across the front of me as I was cruising past
Thanks. I figured that it was probably the driver cutting into your space.
Not giving enough space between bikes can be dangerous
True
P.S thats a very arrogant way to start a question.
road presence is a big advantage of group riding, you get noticed...
Yeah that makes a huge difference
I get it trust me. But you dont challenge a cage going down the rode, youll never win that fight. In todays mindless rage its even more certain you wont. However...following and then toe to toe in some park'n lots a much better choice🤙. Smarts winnable...be safe and enjoy D ride people🇺🇲🤙🇺🇲
Thank you
Hey Man thanks for the great videos,, my wife and I started out riding vespas 2 years ago and traded them up for 2 Harley 48 1200s we ride together and don’t have much interest in groups.. Cheers from Southern California 👍🏻👍🏽 OH Yeah what brand of glasses do your wear
Thanks for watching I'm not sure of the brand
Wow!
Yeah its always hard in that type of situation. I assume they wait for you at the next ... wherever?
Thanks for watching
In the uk people will block you on filtering it’s only started in the last 10 years as we have a lot of multi cultural families moved in as guests and mostly they are not aware of old established manners on the roads also the road sat nav’s send cars round a roundabout on the outside to turn off instead of the old inside causing bang ups
I like a group at times, but only with friends that I’ve ridden with in the past. It’s safer when you know how people ride around you in a group.
I’m assuming you ship to the U.S.? How long does an order take to ship to Florida?
I think it takes a couple of weeks, allow 3
Don't get me wrong, if you're a club rider you've made the commitment to all rules. Most club riders know what's going on anyway. But big events just like the blessing of the bikes. It's total chaos and a free for all. No structure what so ever. That's my opinion anyway. Sorry if I've pissed anyone off!
You are probably correct
Good video I’m interested in the vitamins you were discussing and noticed you were in Arncliffe, my area, where’s the vitamin store? Thanks
No where near Arncliffe, I get them made up at a compounding pharmacy
Riding in a group is dangerous. Because you have different skill levels, between the group of riders. A real risk of running into the back of other riders!!
So either ride up front or as tail end charly
It can be very dangerous
@@OldNotDead-Club as dangerous as Danny? The m$b?
In a group is fine when I know the riders. Large group rides with “non HOGgies” or inter chapter are always sketchy.
Otherwise solo.
Thanks mate
What glasses do you wear when driving, please?
I'm not sure of the brand, the type that goes from yellow to dark depending on the sun. From a local motorcycle store, very easy to find
Thank you!@@OldNotDead-Club
Egos and inexperience
Oh yeah bad recipe
Yeah you are spot on. It was a generalisation about the day only
I ride alone I enjoy my solitude I stop when I feel like and I ride long days 1000ks is a good day not many will ride the hours or the conditions that I am prepared to Mango
Thanks Mango, you've done some serious kms!
i prefer to ride alone, for some reason I annoy most people after 10 mins...
Lol
I ride alone yeah, with nobody else you know when I run alone, I prefer to be by myself . that way I can do what I want go as fast as I want slow as I want without any whingeing. just saying
Thanks that's a popular choice
It is so confusing watching everyone ride on the wrong side of the road, and then pass on the left shoulder? huh?
lol
Group riding taught me that I’m not a group rider.
lol
Lane splitting at speed is not only dangerous, it's rude and shows a level of impatience that will help get you killed.
Doing it at 30kph has it's own issues but at express way speed is just plain pathetically stupid
Thanks for your riding advice, lucky it's not me doing that. You Tube is for entertainment purposes - 1. wide angle lenses distort distances and 2. some of the clips are from other riders etc. spliced in. I would never do something dangerous, rude, impatient or even illegal... so surely - perhaps even guaranteed that I am not pathetically stupid... or triggered.
@OldNotDead-Club Come on mate, so 8.20 into the clip, wasn't you riding 🤣🤣
I ride alone, not al humans are designed for human interaction. I function just fine alone past 53 years. And there are plenty more like me.
Thats true if you know yourself and your not running.
Aymon, no Sissy bar for your wife Sara?
fast and slower riders mixed together.......a recipe for trouble
You got that right!
Hey Aymen I gotta ask what the driver that you flipped the bird to did to you?
