Brax is the glue on his channel. I like Tim, like everything he does and how he runs his business but by far my favorite part is watching Brax just easily fix trucks most adult truck drivers wouldn’t have a clue how to fix or move them around.
not to mention since 10 yr old and younger he has been able to drive and operate most of the equipment
yup, hardest mechanic work out there despite being some of the simplest parts lol...in depth motorcycle stuff is more complicated but breaking apart there is a lot cheaper

Tim is such a genuine good dude! Love to hear his come up story, was heartbreaking watching when his shop and almost all his equipment go up in smoke! Glad he’s been kicking ass, absolutely love watching his son just be mesmerized by his pops stories and be so proud of him! Reminds me of all the young days i had with mine riding shotgun 🫶🏻

Been a part of Cleeter Nation for a few years now and because of this video I not only enjoyed learning about Gentry and Sons and how they fit into the mix but I also subscribed to both this channel and Gentry's. It's a beautiful thing knowing that just by allowing these channels to entertain us 100 times better than any television show in history has ever been able to do, that we are also a vital part of their success.

Such a great pod. I’ve talked to cooper before about starting TH-cam and trying to get out going. This video just taught me the best lesson of all don’t get caught up in the haters. I had a video they had like 150,000 views within a day but haters start coming and talking crap about my dog saying how horrible me and my wife were because our dog was overweight and I didn’t delete in the video, but that won’t happen again. Keep kicking ass cooper and Gentrey and sons
I grew up in a truck my dad recently started driving again professionally and I literally just got home from dropping him off to his truck.
I was a diesel tech till 2020 and I can't say how much I miss being involved in this industry there's a lot of good companies and drivers that get stereotyped and bad raps for all the steering wheel holders out there causing issues

Don't know why I even clicked on this video because I didn't recognize the name at all but it's been one of the best you've done. Really enjoyed it
We bought our house (in Tulsa, Oklahoma) in 2020 for around $123k. It was listed at $119K. It took the extra $ to win the bidding war. It was very underpriced. Realistically, $140K - $150K was probably a good, fair market price at the time. The market peaked here about 6 - 12 months ago. Right now, I wouldn't put our house on the market for less than maybe $225K. I would also have to have my next place at least on contract to close, and I would be at least 1/2 way packed to move. It would probably sell for more than the $225K, and probably in less than 2 weeks. The average house in our neighborhood right now is about $260K. The top end of the houses on the market today in our hood is $324K right now. In 1998, it was $100K... The property values in our area are pretty nuts. Cost of living is very low here compared to most of the US.
Cooper - It's definitely more work to do this but, it'd be cool if whenever someone on the show showed you something on their phone, you grabbed a copy of it or got the link, and embedded it into the video so we could watch along with you.
I try to avoid that because I don’t want people to feel like they are missing anything by not watching. Maybe I should just include it
I listen with my phone in my pocket, but when I heard burnouts I pulled it out hahaha
I listen a lot of times as well why at work, but when they talk about showing something I always pull out my phone. I used to listen to iTunes for my podcast but switched to TH-cam just for the visuals on the same channels. Maybe throw in a short description for audio listeners.
Tim and his crew are an amazing bunch of people ive had the opportunity of running in to him and some of his guys a few times while passing threw there aera great people. 👍

You can feel the emotions coming out of the boat story
I sold my truck and trailer at the end of 2020 due to a lot of issues, but the biggest one was guessing how expensive that everything was going to get. After jumping back in a truck a year ago, my predictions were pretty spot on. Just this morning as I was starting my vlog for the day, I was talking about getting undercut on loads. I started driving 13 years ago, and have been around trucks pretty much my whole life, and this is the craziest that I have ever seen things in trucking. I had my old truck for 9 years, and I am glad that I got rid of it when I did.

The trucking industry is tough.. especially for an independent owner/operator.. just maintenance on a truck and trailer is outrageous expensive and then if you have any sort of major part failure it can be unbelievably expensive.. when i first started out as a mechanic on these big trucks and trailers i was blown away at the cost of some if the smallest most basic things..

In the part about modifying the truck to drive it the dot actually made me modify mine to drive with one leg. I tried to just hold the truck with the trailer valve and no dice. The only reason they would have cared is because he technically wasn’t medically cleared to drive.

That dude is awesome to listen too...the fire story made me sad. My family is all evolved in volunteer fire department and they are one of the fastest responding departments in Wisconsin that doesn't have full timers
He's right about everyone buying boats I do boat upholstery on Yamaha jet boats and the orders have like doubled

The insurance and DEF shit is insane tbh....Im a trucker and E-logs make a LOT of sense tbh, yes its tougher to haul long haul and max out...but when i did flatbed and some Hazmat stuff i made MORE money working ~62hrs a week than i did RIGHT ON THE EDGE of being out of time every single week and sleep better with less stress. Now i work 45 hrs a week hauling hazmat trailers and make the same amount

As a diesel mechanic. specifically, an OTR truck mechanic. I have seen many false accusations of failed parts, making the driver/company have to pay for a roadside repair or a tow to a shop. I never know what to tell the customer when my diagnosis opposes the officers. The general consensus is that it is cheaper to pay me than fight the violation. That kind of power is messed up.

The AVERAGE broker percentage is 15%. Truck drivers go out of business because they don't know how to run a business, don't understand supply and demand (the ONLY thing that affects rates), and they buy the truck they WANT and not the truck they NEED. Then they expect customers to pay exorbitant rates to cover their inflated costs.
This is why we teach drivers how to run a proper trucking business - in a PAID FOR truck with NO PAYMENTS, with a customer-first attitude, and built on a foundation of proper bookkeeping and accounting.
No one buys a truck and pays it off without expecting to cover the cost of the truck purchase so that part of your argument is wrong. I run an asset based business and always charge customers for my equipment even tho it’s payed for.
I’d challenge you to find a trucking business that is making money right now regardless their business model.
Over 3k just for a truck radiator, trucking is a $ business for sure! Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Tim, is my guess, could be Minnesota, Minneapolis is the City where all that started.

Your insurance cost is due to the variety of freight that you haul. Unfortunately if you select one type of freight it would save you a ton.

"Houses are the only thing people aren't upside down in." Maybe in Florida but it's coming. Houses arent selling in my state where people like to move to. You hear one goes under contract then it falls through. Unless you have 50% down you arent getting financed.

Sorry to hear your shop burned down. Really sad when cowards stand in the way and prevent you from saving your own stuff. Had a friend almost die saving his dog because full geared firemen refused to do anything but stand there - if you won't do your job the least you can do is get the hell out of the way.
I was coming to comment on that story as well. I don't understand how they can stop the man from trying to save his shop. He wasn't going in so why not let him try. Crappy situation all over.

I love watching Tim's videos I'm all the way over in Australia I'm a irl truck driver I drive 2 3 and sometimes 4 trailer road trains I actually thought about starting TH-cam but I decided not to because who would want to watch a fat Australian truck driver
In california most places have to have wildfire insurance and there is like 2 company's that will do it but it is crazy expensive
Thats the problem with insurance you pay them for years and are scared to file a claim

crazy how a stock s550 mustang runs 7s in the 1/8. add boost and fuel to a v8 f150 or s550 5.0 mustang and they can make uo to 1200whp and run 8s in the f150s and as fast as 7s in s550 and thats in the 1/4 mile on stock sealed coyote. toss that into a lightweight fox and you have a 6 sec car or turned down easy 7s at a reliable 900whp. build motor factory coyote block can handle up to 2500hp qnd this is why we see 4 sec 1/4 mile foxes in the coyote class. this why ppl like Garrett are turning away from LS stuff. its so much easier once you learn them to make 5.0 coyote and other coyote varients of the coyote like the 5.2 voodoo (from the gt350) and supercharged 5.2 from the (gt500)
There are videos out there of brokers talking about how they make profit on a load....and on the low end of the amount of loads they deal with, one broker is making 350k a month. Meanwhile the truckers are barely making enough to pay their fuel bill.

I understand having to have a minimum for being able to maintain your business, and I understand a reasonable profit margin.
Which is no different than someone's paycheck every week, because without that, they're screwed, but some of these companies are monopolizing the market.
It's not necessarily the trucking industry, but the meat processing plant owners.
They are literally rapping the people, and I am sure that the retailers are just as guilty of this too.
There's like three groups that own the three mega companies that process all the beef, pork, and probably to a degree of any other type of meat.
Then it's produce companies are just as bad about it, because you can't tell me that it actually cost anywhere near a $1.00 a head for tiny heads of lettuce.
Are lets use watermelons, because I bought one the other day for my 87 year old mother..
It was $5.00, and it didn't matter if it weighed 2 lbs or 5 lbs, but the average watermelon in the crate was closer to 2 to 3 lbs, and if there was anything above 3.5 lbs, it was long gone..
Same thing for loaf of bread, because there's no way it cost $3.??, and whatever to make a loaf of bread.
Something for everything else in the grocery stores that's food related, it's has had such a major increase in costs that I've went from $150.00 every two to the three weeks up to closer to $400.00 for each visit.
I shop as frugally as possible, there's not much that isn't store brand, and if it is, it's because they don't have it on the shelves that isn't.
This is ridiculous, and if transportation jumps up, along with every thing else, there's no way the public can afford this.
Especially the people who are on fixed income, because they don't get anymore than when this first started.
Same with property taxes, and housing have quadrupled in cost, and old people cannot afford to sell thinking they'll make a profit, because they will never find anything that they can afford if they do it will be at such a lower quality of housing, and the area they'll have to buy in will not come close to the standard they just left.
Not that I'm not for making a profit, but where does it reach the point that you take everything out of the price range that people cannot afford.
Don't get me started on how bad the average person who raises beef to feed our country cannot afford to have his own beef processed for his family.
There's a big problem that we get usually below a dollar a pound live weight, but cheapest hamburger at the store is over $5.00 a lb, but its more filler than actual meat.

You're allowed to drive an old truck in California. Just not allowed to register it. I ran in there rolling coal and never an issue.

If a semi truck runs away just put it in the highest gear n pop the clutch it will stall it out
Thats such a great plan. How do you plan on getting it in said gear with it revved all the way out when they flat won’t go in gear unless they are synchronized with the rpm? Everyone always says “just put it in high gear” without considering how hard it is to get a truck in a gear in perfect conditions no less with the engine screaming out of control.

@@invadergirr420najera8 the clutch doesn’t do anything in a semi truck bud. I’m not gonna lie here it kinda sounds like you don’t know how a non synchronized transmission works at all.
@@invadergirr420najera8 Maybe it would work. I don’t know I just highly doubt it. Do me a favor red line the truck your in and try to get it in any gear with or without the clutch. Let me know what happens. You’ll either strip the gear or it won’t go. There’s no reality where you can just put it in gear easily and stop the engine.
@@invadergirr420najera8 if it’s in a gear when it runs away then sure you can stop it. But if it’s out of gear and redlines you’re just screwed. All you can do is choke it somehow. Trying to throw it in gear is just going to destroy the transmission with the engine.

Unfortunately it’s the new breed of drivers that’s killing the industry. It’s like my dad has always said, you can stay home and go broke. There’s no sense in going out and killing the market along with your business. Fortunately we’ve always been like Gentry and had a special niche so we’ve never actually had to run off a load board and very seldom ever long haul.
So the state said they were gonna reimburse him because it was there fault.. Did they ever do that or no because he didn’t do an insurance claim?
