The other part of the Fillet Gage is for verifying convexity/throat depth, not for multiple passes.

Need to redo the video explaining the gage on 3 bead pass. The camera person was focusing on you face, not the fillet gage.

Who do you get to inspect the structural welding on a residential project. In my past experience the city inspector had no clue about steel work and wanted a letter from the engineer signing off on the work?

Simeon Kessler the engineer who drew up the plans would inspect or send someone.

Depends if the engineer invoked any specifications in the plan. For structural welding, the standard is AWS D1.1. Inspection is spelled it in the code. But I'm finding that in light construction, codes are rarely used, and everybody just shrugs and says "metal is strong.". I highly recommend having the design engineer approve the welds in conjunction with a certified weld inspector.

aayotechnology is you want to preserve your health you hold your head away from the weld gas plume or wear a mask with a HEPA filter.

I had ONE simple question about the boat dock.
