Movie is absolutely fantastic!
I cry every time I see this part in the movie, it hurts my heart.
I’m from Detroit and yes that did happen. That event still haunts that city to this day. Racism in the US has a brutal history.
My dad was in Vietnam when the Detroit riots happened, but his best friend was in Detroit, and he remembers having to have the kids lay down on the floorboards of the car because of stray bullets, he said it was terrifying.
@@TwiggyKeely Yeah it's wild how many Americans can't get their heads around the idea of having their hometown turned into a warzone. We need to remember that some of us already have.
The song seems to be in a completely new perspective. The words, the arrangement, the vocals, the video footage. This seems a complerely new take on the Beatles' classic. This is amazing.
You should watch the movie. Its brilliant!

FIRST OF ALL... you NEED to watch the rehearsal video. She becomes soooo emotional with the music. It's nothing but beauty.

this is such a great movie. I hate musicals but the way they wrote a movie around the Bealtes songs was so well done and Let it be in this movie gets to me every time
One of my favorite movies that I can watch over and over. I love the way the stories are told, brings me back to some of my impressions/memories of the 60s while growing up during that time. I love the renditions of the all of the songs as well.

The Beatles as a group had the most profound effect on me in my life of any band I think. I love Paul McCartney and I love George Harrison and I don’t know what to think of Ringo Starr and never have LOL. But the one I identify with the most is John Lennon. It’s etched into my brain the day I woke up to the news that John Lennon had died. It was strange because my radio went off at six in the morning and I was supposed to get ready for school. The first words that came out of the radio were John Lennon is dead. Why did that come out? My radio usually never went off that early, but that morning, it did. I shot up out of bed, in shock. This couldn’t be real. It has not happened. During that moment of silence, I decided to stare out in my backyard. If there was anyway to connect to him and tell him Godspeed and what he meant to me I wanted him to get the message. I think he did because millions sent that message to him at the same time. ☮️ 💕 🌎 🌍

You should watch it, Mike!! It's a departure, but it has a lot of amazing moments. It isn't kitchy, and it continues to be focused on the right issues. It really is underrated.

I grew up in the Detroit area, and I can tell you that the Detroit riots of 1968 were horrible... Look it up, it's pretty shocking stuff. And all this during the Vietnam War where soldiers were killed and it all seemed so out of control. And nothing has changed since, ya feel me? But even in the midst of something so horrible, like this COVID madness, we gotta remember what's important, and what's beautiful. Like this song. I always wondered if Paul McCartney really wrote this, or was it a gift from God? Just jokin' so keep on doing your thing guys.. always good stuff

I played The Beatles Let It Be for him and it soothed his heart. I think of all the millions of folks around the world that have found strength and solace from this song. The timing of your lovely reply couldn't have been better. It just proves to me that love is a life force unto itself and it's always all around us. Much appreciated, friend.
