I love how now several months out, people have such an all inclusive understanding of ER mechanics and gear, that you can plan these sort of challenge runs. I haven’t played it since June, but seeing all this is a perfect reminder of why I played it for 160 hours and why it’s hands down the best game I’ve played in years.

Agree with your preference of puzzle-based challenges over combat ones. It shows just how many tools tricks and clever strategies the player truly has.

something that might have made the rykard fight easier: mimic tear cannot be afflicted with status whatsoever. it also doesn't consume the items you give it when it uses them, meaning you can give it a raw meat dumpling and it'll have infinite healing.
Never thought I'd see a run where Malenia is easy and the Elden Beast is hard. Your tips for Ordina might help me, as I'm doing a "stealth run" that also involves avoiding combat with enemies.
Something to know, the sentry torch's effect is just by having it out in an active slot, you can have it on your back and two handing another weapon and keep black knives revealed.

Just a quick correction about the ordina evergeol and the sentinel torch: the effect that lets you see the invisible black knife assassins still works while the torch is on your back while youre 2handing the weapon in your other hand
Failing that, you can also put the familial heads in your off-hand. While dual wielding, the weapon art on your left weapon will always be used. Think of it as the heavy attack of your off-hand.
@@IRLNickOckward that’s actually wrong, the right weapon art is prioritized unless the left is a parry. You’d need no skill on the right to use the left AoW. I’m powerstancing with different AoW weapons right now and I have to change out which is left or right based on the AoW I want readily available
Finally, someone recognizes the power of Vow of the Indomitable. It's basically portable I-frames without all the hassle that rolling brings. Slapping that bad boy on a shield helped get me though my torch only run, since it's the most reliable way to avoid Radagon's triple slam.
I gotta say the videography of your videos is superb. It really feels like you are telling a story and props to you completing another one! (The challenge and the video.)
That intro hit me like a brick. My father loved Zelda and he would have loved Elden Ring. Seeing the modern visuals with the OOT intro brought out a level of nostalgia i never expected.

Maybe you didn’t know. But the Mimic Tear can heal itself with raw dumplings if you have them equipped in your inventory. Since the Mimic can’t get poisoned it doesn’t have any downsides when it eats them to heal. Also have you considered having the mimic using more incantations and sorceries? Like Dragonmaw and Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike are both very good against Radagon and Elden Beast. But I don't know if the Mimic AI will be smart enough to use them correctly.
That's pretty much this game in a nutshell. Too high boss damage leading to instant one or two shots even with high health. Sad to see that this passes off as good balance these days.
If you wanted to kill the Black Knife Assassins in the Evergaol of Ordina, the torch still applies its invisibility breaking effect when you 2-hand your weapon, it just doesn't shed any light.
I love how this video is the best description that "skill" can mean almost anything. Does skill mean : "The ability to memorize and react to all enemy attacks" ~OR~ "The ability to look at ones tools and come into any fight with the best plan regardless of what the enemy does" ~OR~ "The ability to mash things together is such a way that the game best itself" Great video, loved how you turn these action-adventure RPGs into puzzle games.

For the smaller enemies, you can use the assassins gambit weapon art which gives you a slight bit more sneakability for a slight bit of health, and it can be used outside of fights and lasts quite a while
I love your challenge runs and they’re really well edited but if you’d ask me I think the thumbnail(s) can be overlooked quite easily. Theres no big contrast in colors and mostly text. Of course it would be dumb if I personally had a problem with that but it maybe could lead to less views than what the video actually deserves. I’m no expert tho others might not agree. Either way great run as always man.

Thanks for doing essentially glitchless runs. I saw too many specialized runs for DS1 where the dude would just use the camera break between Andre and the church and they'd call it a success.
@@conniefan123 why not just spam rivers of blood the entire game? Why not just scarlet rot every boss in the game? Some people find it fun to try all the different options presented in a game. This is particularly true of a game like Elden that has such a huge variety of weapons and armour.
@@conniefan123 guess it's hard to determine how much particular weapons are or aren't used unless you work for fromsoft. But in my experience I've only seen one or two phantoms wielding it and I've only invaded one guy who's gank squad was using one. Still great fun for a mage warrior hybrid

Why didn't you use perfumes like the Uplifting Aromatic It doesn't consume stamina in combat and its buff is an AoE that can be casted on allies like the Mimic Tear, in addition when equipped in your pouch your mimic tear can potentially gain a copy It gives a rather nice damage buff plus the effects of the opaline bubble tear
all these challenge runs get me back into Elden Ring, make it look so easy, then I get destroyed and I remember why i stopped playing without even beating the game

Whenever I'm at the town to get to the haligtree, I always use that same tower spot to snipe the archers off the roof tops using explosive great bolts because they have knock back

personally (bc i'm uh. not the most skilled) in order to stop drawing aggression of the leynell knights by avenue for the middle one (with a bow) what you can do is draw its agression and then stand behind the wall in the house out of sight. it will walk up to the doors and theb turn around to walk back w/o ever seeing you. when its back is turned you can easily drop down w/o losing stamina
the CASTLEVANIA Curse of darkness Music added was truly a very special touch CV CoDARK is one of the greatest and most underrated combat mechanics video game ever created and well same i can say for all other 3Dvanias but there is something truly special about CV Lament of innocence and Curse

Mimic tear can be bled out and deathblight afflicted though
You can also have it use the uplifting aromatics, which lets it take free hits, as well as giving you that buff too. The bonus damage is good too.

Not a recent change, seems totally intended. It just has to be "active" in one of your hands.
The only thing that I think could've made the final fight a little easier is taking advantage of the poise damage that phalanx does.

Giving mimic the antspur rapier and rot breath or ekzykes decay sounds like it would be incredibly powerful since it can do rot buildup from any range
That also has the funny effect of causing your Mimic In the Boss Fight to poison itself since it isn't a phantom.
Loved the first no-stamina run and this video took that and cranked it up to 11! Great job man keep up the amazing work!

You should do a "starting class run" in ether elden ring or dark souls, you can use consumables and upgrades, but not any other equipment

The Draconic Tree Sentinel in Farum Azula can be cheesed with poison mist if you abuse the quit-out trick to reset its aggro when you’re behind it.

This run is so sick, it really sounded impossible at first
personally (bc i'm uh. not the most skilled) in order to stop drawing aggression of the leynell knights by avenue for the middle one (with a bow) what you can do is draw its agression and then stand behind the wall in the house out of sight. it will walk up to the doors and theb turn around to walk back w/o ever seeing you. when its back is turned you can easily drop down w/o losing stamina
