This was a fun little project. I just finished this kit as my first HAM kit. Very easy kit; though I have extensive soldering experience, which you definitely DO NOT need for this kit. I appreciate being able to follow along with your video.
Considering doing the QDX radio for my next kit, which looks quite a bit more challenging. Or at least, more tedious.
Following along with your great content definitely inspires confidence in being able to complete the kit, so thanks for what you do!

Thanks for the kind words! The QDX isn't bad, just tedious like you said. The QCX is more of a puzzle, if that's your thing it's fun, if not it's frustrating. QRPLabs makes good stuff.

nice kit. love that new soldering iron. i think I would put like a yellow heat shrink over antenna wire to know what is counterpoise/antenna wire. they both black. looking to a video of using that antenna. 73's

Yes, I thought the same thing with the driven and counter elements.

Nice video. Just what I’ve been looking for. Hope I can get one in the UK? I must say though, the camera wobble is rather annoying and make it hard to watch at times :/

Reach out to Jonathon and see if he'll ship you one. I don't like the camera wobble either. I'm trying to find a good setup.

I like to use big durable transformers, tiny stuff always gets broken or lost.

I usually keep antennas like this in the go-bag with a specific radio.

Nice video Steve. That soldering iron seems a bit frustrating to work with. Seems it goes to sleep just when you are about to use it.

To be fair I was doing a few things all at once. You can set the sleep timer though.

Nice kit, thanks for the video.
Please note that the link you provided to the instructions doesn’t seem to work. When I went into the pdf folder on the radiodan website I found it. The filename and URL look different from your link. Maybe the website was recently updated.

Thanks for that. I updated the link in the description: radiodan.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/EF-Antenna-Assembly-Instructions_10-31-2023.pdf

I've built two of these (EFHW and a random wire). I love these things! N1ROG

Its a self healing cutting mat. It is NOT burn proof, but it does protect my work surface and comes in handy. geni.us/9t4muY
