Welcome back Joe! great them cells are returning higher caps than advertised... I ordered 4 of the 280ah cells last week for a 12v system in a caravan some guy wants installing. Got a message from the Sanben Battery Store (100% feedback/rating) saying "thanks for the order warehouse confirmed all sold out we got new cells testing at 290ah as you have already paid would you like us to send them" I said yes go for it! Got to take that leap lol fingers crossed they'll be here between 07th - 28th July. aliexpress wouldn't allow me place any orders after them 4 cells though payments are locked for security reasons "waiting on appeal" lol couldn't believe it I was going to order another 16 for my own 24v 560ah system I couldn't even order the bms i wanted nor other stuff anyways rant over can't wait to see your set up & testing of these cells

I bought 32 cells from same seller you bought your 16( the ones you tested) they’re 271 AH brand is CATL, and I’m very happy with my order, but I haven’t done capacity test, no needs for that in my application. Working great with my growatt 12k
I almost went with the 271 CATL as well. Like finger over buy now button lol but went with the other brand to see if there any good. Havent seen anyone buy any yet so may be a good option.....or bad lol😅🤞
I got the same result on my 272Ah LISHEN from Basen batteries too. They, LISHEN, are not easy to find anymore so I order the REPT cells, they should be here in mid June. I cannot believe that Basen now wants $138 for Lishen, I bought mine form them at $77 in last December. I cannot wait to test 280Ah REPT cells from EXPLIORC at $85 each.
Ton find out if the long mod holders are ABS just rub a corner with acetone (nail polish remover might work also). If it starts to soften and break down then its made of ABS. If it doesn't then its probably PLA.
Those longmon holders look cool but I wonder..... The indented sections of a longmon don't get hot (I believe by design) but the center part does and I wonder it it will melt the holder. Will be interested to see how it works out. Really enjoy seeing you / your videos - thank you.
Yeah they do! Yeah the indent area shouldnt get to hot however the hole thing does get hot since its full of resistors. A subscriber is making some out of ABS for me and those shouldnt melt🤞🤞😁 Thanks for watching!💥🤘

When you build your battery could you put a thin piece of cutting board material, like the ones at Dollar General before you compress them? And is it ok to bend busbars that are a little longer than I need. Thanks for all the info and as always, great video.
Yeah you could put the thin cutting board in there for sure. I may or may not do that. I purchased some heat shrink from Keith to change the color so I may just use that for the "insulator". As for the bus bars I would actually recommend having a small bend or bow to help relieve any stress on the terminals when cells are compressed. Ill most likely put a bend in mine as well as long as I can keep the ends straight and flat!💥🤘

No sir, not installed yet.. just checked static no load voltage (all exactly the same) and inspected for damage (none) the ones I weighed we’re almost exactly the same. I will load test after I finish my DIY Ground mount array.. sooooo busy getting er dun! I’ve been running two sets of 16 (48v) 200ah prismatic cells for a few months now in my shop that have preformed perfectly! That is a "longmon" and goes to my bms which is a Batrium. The longmon is basically a bunch of resistors and bleeds off the extra energy to keep the batteries all balanced with each other. Each 3.2v Lishen battery will have its own longmon and those are connected to the watchmon. The watchmon is the "heart" or main part of the bms which controls everything. There are also cheaper and less "complicated" bms's. I have some coming from alibaba to test out as well.🤘

The cells all look the same but they may have different goop inside, so the chemical mix could be slightly different. But WHO knows, right?⁉

Great contribution, Andy. I just give Joe money... I just got my power supply from Ali as well. It's a great all-rounder and fits all battery sizes. I've got the 60V/5A version as I wanted one capable of the charging the 16s battery.
They arn't the exact same batteries, I got mine from Litto Kala Varicore, same ones that Will Prowse tested and got full capacity. I ordered the first batch of 4 that came in just under 280AH each, then I got another batch of 8, they all came in around 250AH, ended up getting a partial refund on those, then my last batch of 4 were under 250AH and got another partial refund on those. And the last batch of 4 look exactly like yours, the first 12 look much different on the top.

Man your testing isn't nothing worth. You was use very bad procedure testing! If you have cell "Grade A" battery you must testing 1C current in your example 272A per Cell.

I mean without running it?
Spec sheet says 2.5v and that would be 0% which is fine to do however for longer life its recommend to go down to 2.8 or so!

They all move to 304Ah cells now. Most suppliers on Ali have them already in stock, even slighlty cheaper than the 272/280Ah cells.
