The new clouds system is amazing! The shadow casting is great for realistic intermitent overcast effect. The round corners is a great thing as well, I use it all the time.
Pretty great update from the D5 team. I think the parallax interiors are really cool and are something I could see being a huge time saver. 3D grass optimization is nice, but I am still really wanting it to be more like the Lumion grass (but maybe I am just a bit biased.) It really seems like the D5 team is listening to what its users really want! Looking forward to the next update already!
Agree the grass is better but could be improved. I noticed it tends to fall off ad the edge of the applied surface which makes it not suitable for close up like he said in the video. Still appreciate the updates.
For the amount of time under development, D5 has made more progress than any other rendering tool. Even better, they continue to innovate more than others. The rounded-corners, 3D clouds w/full customization, some of best grass of any archviz tool, AO tools ... and BATCH import of PBR! This is such an important feature that so many apps overlook. D5 is already a great product -- at this rate, D5 will be *untouchable* within two years.
hi Nuno, with the grass material...if i have a front lawn that i assign the grass template to...it creates a border not showing the grass all the way to the edge. any tips?
I think that's one of the current limitations. That's why I suggest using it only far away. For that it's best to use the model grass from the assets library.
I can say that D5 Render is adding new features every 2 months, which is a good thing. :) But Lumion is one of the oldest real-time renderers and has already many features for many years that some are still catching up. Of course it misses things, like raytracing, but lets see what the version 13 will bring!
Interior Parallax is a category in Model, might need to scroll down a little. Grass material is a template, and you can press "i" to pick a particular material, then change the material template for it. If you still can't find them, please write to support@d5techs.com 🤗
hahaha... I was sure -- Lumion would be the first to use parallax interiors cause they already have everything for it... But no! The d5 was the first. Bravo d5! Shame on Lumion))

Why you don't use vray or corona ? 🤔🤔
Real-time renderers are catching quickly in terms of quality to vray or corona, and it renders much faster.

The only thing keeping me from using D5 in all my works is the curtain material. Can't make it look natural, like Lumion does with ease
