But personally... i kinda wanna see characters tested in things like the memory of chaos rather than in simulated universe(since majority of it is just stacking the right cards. Like seriously, a character with no build can do 100k+(or 30% hp of any boss but w6) cuz of something like remembrance.) I feel like chaos and maybe some overworld stuff might be a better showcase... atleast thats what i wanna see anyways. Idk what everyone else wants.
I would like this because sometimes you might prefer a different character depending on the content you are doing. That isn't to say that a character can be multi-faceted, but I just feel like it's disingenuous if you don't bring up the other parts of the game you will be playing.
erudition are focused on mobbing with low single target. destruction characters can do both well which is crucial for the current memory of chaos. hook is also on rate-up banner for easy eidolons and destcruction in general has better light cone options than erudition atm.

While pulling for Seele I got Hook to E6. So I built her. She is very good and her attack animations are pretty funny. I like how she attacks the enemy then turns and quickly runs away.
I have a feeling the the skill named “hey! Remember Hook” has something to do with her being the least played character in the beta , now she will slept on in the live game

Game gave me a shit ton of Hooks and I built her only because of the max Eidolons - no regrets. She hits like a freaking truck and insanely consistent!
The burn duration is actually pretty big for consistency. When you get to enemies who have 30+ speed over you, there will be some turns where the enemy takes 2 turns before your Hook has their next one, so they eat up the burns. This Eidolon makes that not happen (unless they use those two turns to freeze you or something).
i thought the burns adding up anyways...so if they last 3 turns instead of 2, you can actually deal one instance more dmg or am i wrong? With E inflicting burn, ult inflicting burn and next turn another burn E, you are at 3 stacks..with some ER and another ult you are alrdy at 4 after 2 rounds. Idk if i did the math correct xD but even then, if you start the battle with her ult, enemy burns, you get buffed E which also activates the talent bcause enemy is burning from ult and now ur hitting 3 enemies and inflicting add burn to all of them which is pretty dope for a "single" target 4*
Not the biggest Hook fan, but she seems to pair well with Asta who is my favourite character. The speed issues are solved by the ult and Asta has significant damage boost for fire.
I don't know if this will change your mind. But Hook's english voice actress is the same as Asta. Just think of her as a young Asta and you might see her as Adorable instead😂.

Hook is like a very strong character of your choice in clearing almost all levels in Jarilo-VI as most of the enemies are weak to fire. She’s even a carry in most sub-bosses and major bosses, mostly Bronya, Svarog, Cocolia, and Stellaron Cocolia
exactly i was fighting svarog with imbibitor lunae, bronya, asta and trailblazer(fire), and it only works sometimes when i get the right blessings. I was thinking of substituting hook for imbibitor lunae

I'm using Hook as a dps in my toughest SU (Svarog and Cocolia). It's funny when you prepare for a battle when Jing Yuan would say "When faced with an army, bide your time and time your attack." Then you use Hook's technique on the boss
Hook is my favorite character in the entire game. Got her and nat e6 and I always play with both of them. My favorite characters. My hook isn't maxed out bc I have focused on Yanqing and I don't have money to waste to constantly farm but she hits really hard. Used her to clear SU6 using a Nihility build. Yanqing, Hook, Natasha, and Fire Mc won it SUUUUUPER easily. Lvl 60 with lvl 60 light cones. Hook hard carry. So for anyone having trouble on SU6 and have Hook. Use her and try Nihility. I swept it
Let's not forget Hook's " Break Effects " because of the amount of DMG dealt by DoTs per turn ( DoT Burn included) That's why Talia: Kingdom of Banditry Break Effect Plannar's for. With Asta Ult, Hook reaches 36% Break effect bonuses when 145 speed.
insane damage in hsr is conditional met at stacking damage type, synergy with the relic that match with damage type and the light cone too, for example stacking wind damages 3x of sampo has with wind relics and light cone that have stacking damage
You're also wrong about On The Fall of an Aeon. Skill + ult are already two attacks and you have 32% atk up already. Getting to maximum of 4 stacks takes 3 turns. From that point on you have permanent 64% atk up. That's HUGE. It's by far her best in slot weapon.
Getting E3 Hook, I'm already on the way to build her for 2nd team, but I guess you just gave me another reason to do it. Cocolia is gonna suffer from cuteness overload :D

Finally someone covering Hook and how great she is as a Single Target DPS. Used her since day 1 in my 2nd team with Himeko for double burn. Some youtubers early on did her bad placing Hook on C tier not knowing her potential.

I did have 1 small correction though, unless I misunderstood your comment: The 4* Cone with the dog, you said the second effect is for her burn dmg but it's actually ALL dmg, with burn being a conditional requirement for getting that dmg. This seems really sizable in the likely case you can maintain 100% burn uptime.

I have e6 on all the banner 4*s lmaoo and ive built my hook really well with about 30 crate and 120 cdmg and 2k attack and she hits like a truck, non simulated umiverse ult on burning targrts when it crits does 40k plus dmg
I was unlucky with the event pulls, I did get Seele through the pity pull, however during that time, I managed to get all of Hook's eidolons. She is lowkey my second strongest character right now in terms of raw damage
I think Hook is good because there's probably not going to be a 5* single target fire character for a little while. A worthwhile investment early on when you need to cover your types

Not everything needs to be compared to xiangling. She's crazy overhyped anyway. She's good yes but she's not this ridiculous God of a character who plays well on her own either. I'd even argue Kuki is just better cause you can get very similar DPS out of her without being reliant on being a black hole for energy and without being reliant on her burst for said dps.
Funny enough I built hook 4 days ago because I got Clara’s light clone with no Clara. I have no idea why they didn’t just guarantee himeko burn instead of being 50% with no scaling, she’s no better than a 4 star.
actually, it's really useful for early game until mid level. but really, every enemies become so though and i ended up leave hook. but i really build her until lv 50 with more than 1,5k atk
Why did I even build himeko? What was the point of investing so much resources into such a trash unit when I had the amazing hook at e6? My gacha luck was terrible, and after heavily investing in himeko, I realised that she wasnt that good. But I didnt know hook was just this much better.
Im torn between the crit 2 set and the 5% energy 2 set for Seele. If you have energy rope, Seele's ult goes from 120 to 100.4. Literally 0.4 energy off a good breakpoint for 0 to 100% with skill, kill, skill, bronya skill, skill. The 5% pushes you over the threshold, but it feels like such a waste.
Seele's best set is Space Sealing Station, it gives her 24% atk. Energy rope is also horrible griefing on Seele. Majority of her damage comes from skills and she can enter buffed state by killing minions, there's no need to sacrifice atk for faster ult.
I somehow did world 6 with only Fire MC as a fire character. Think Seele did the shield breaking. Abundance was stacked to the brim so I got bored and let it play auto
Been wanting to build Hook since i got her e6, but no luck on relics and its not a priority as fire weakness us usually paired with lightning or quantum and i already have Serval and Seele.
Info about Inert Salsotto pretty misleading actually, Herta Sealing Space Station is actually across the board better in the majority of cases, and the Fleet of the Ageless support set being on the same world as the Sealing Space Station, makes World 3 difficulty 2 by far the best simulated universe world to farm 😊
After i didn't get Seele within 70 pulls, I left with c4 Hook, who carried me through SU world 6 with Asta, Nat, and Fire MC. Also, she dealt my highest damage with 60k with enhanced E on 3 enemies The only thing that is concerning about this guide is Code keep changing models LMAO
I feel like you're over-estimating the 8% crit set. The Space Station set from World 3 has bigger numbers across the board despite being just +24% ATK (yeah yeah, eww ATK). And that 15% Ult DMG is great, don't get me wrong, but you're ulting every 3rd attack or so. TBH Consistency of Space Set feels like a better choice... unless your full set of gear has both crit rate & crit damage & these 8% crit would give you 100% crit rate, then yeah.
Was looking for this comment. 24% atk is worth a lot more than 8% crit rate. The damage bonus only applies to ult and follow up attacks which makes the set disappointing on characters who do most of their damage with other sources - and Hook is one of those characters, same for Seele.
You're the only person i've seen recommend Inert Salsotto for dps characters, everybody and their damn mother is saying that Space Sealing Station is better.
I have some serious question about that build. Are the bonus damage really better then more ATK stat? I mean, is that really good to have something that gives 15% bonus damage to ultimates when you can have a set that gives you 24% more atk? Has someone made some maths to verify this?
Any advice on who she synergizes well with? Right now I'm running hook, bailu, Asta, and herta but I also drew himeko and bronya recently along with many 4 stars and I worry about sinking too much into my team only to realize I could've been doing better all along
If you are going to go to simulated universe or more difficult content, perhaps its better to switch Herta for Bronya or Fire Trailblazer, i say this assuming Hook is your carry, so, combining the boofs from bronya and Asta makes her a beast.

I accidentally main her in patch 1.0 cause that was my first E6 character and while farming for welt, I get fire set instead and give it to hook 🤣

Eidolons generally don't make or break a character, especially not Hooks eidolons are not needed at all

Not everything needs to be compared to xiangling. She's crazy overhyped anyway. She's good yes but she's not this ridiculous God of a character who plays well on her own either. I'd even argue Kuki is just better cause you can get very similar DPS out of her without being reliant on being a black hole for energy and without being reliant on her burst for said dps.
Funny enough I built hook 4 days ago because I got Clara’s light clone with no Clara. I have no idea why they didn’t just guarantee himeko burn instead of being 50% with no scaling, she’s no better than a 4 star.
actually, it's really useful for early game until mid level. but really, every enemies become so though and i ended up leave hook. but i really build her until lv 50 with more than 1,5k atk

Why did I even build himeko? What was the point of investing so much resources into such a trash unit when I had the amazing hook at e6? My gacha luck was terrible, and after heavily investing in himeko, I realised that she wasnt that good. But I didnt know hook was just this much better.

Im torn between the crit 2 set and the 5% energy 2 set for Seele. If you have energy rope, Seele's ult goes from 120 to 100.4. Literally 0.4 energy off a good breakpoint for 0 to 100% with skill, kill, skill, bronya skill, skill. The 5% pushes you over the threshold, but it feels like such a waste.
Seele's best set is Space Sealing Station, it gives her 24% atk. Energy rope is also horrible griefing on Seele. Majority of her damage comes from skills and she can enter buffed state by killing minions, there's no need to sacrifice atk for faster ult.
I somehow did world 6 with only Fire MC as a fire character. Think Seele did the shield breaking.
Abundance was stacked to the brim so I got bored and let it play auto
Been wanting to build Hook since i got her e6, but no luck on relics and its not a priority as fire weakness us usually paired with lightning or quantum and i already have Serval and Seele.
Info about Inert Salsotto pretty misleading actually, Herta Sealing Space Station is actually across the board better in the majority of cases, and the Fleet of the Ageless support set being on the same world as the Sealing Space Station, makes World 3 difficulty 2 by far the best simulated universe world to farm 😊

After i didn't get Seele within 70 pulls, I left with c4 Hook, who carried me through SU world 6 with Asta, Nat, and Fire MC. Also, she dealt my highest damage with 60k with enhanced E on 3 enemies

I feel like you're over-estimating the 8% crit set. The Space Station set from World 3 has bigger numbers across the board despite being just +24% ATK (yeah yeah, eww ATK). And that 15% Ult DMG is great, don't get me wrong, but you're ulting every 3rd attack or so. TBH Consistency of Space Set feels like a better choice... unless your full set of gear has both crit rate & crit damage & these 8% crit would give you 100% crit rate, then yeah.
Was looking for this comment. 24% atk is worth a lot more than 8% crit rate. The damage bonus only applies to ult and follow up attacks which makes the set disappointing on characters who do most of their damage with other sources - and Hook is one of those characters, same for Seele.
You're the only person i've seen recommend Inert Salsotto for dps characters, everybody and their damn mother is saying that Space Sealing Station is better.
I have some serious question about that build. Are the bonus damage really better then more ATK stat? I mean, is that really good to have something that gives 15% bonus damage to ultimates when you can have a set that gives you 24% more atk? Has someone made some maths to verify this?

Looking at Hook now, would you change any of the gear with 1.5 being out? Would any of the new gear or relics offer better damage.
Any advice on who she synergizes well with? Right now I'm running hook, bailu, Asta, and herta but I also drew himeko and bronya recently along with many 4 stars and I worry about sinking too much into my team only to realize I could've been doing better all along
If you are going to go to simulated universe or more difficult content, perhaps its better to switch Herta for Bronya or Fire Trailblazer, i say this assuming Hook is your carry, so, combining the boofs from bronya and Asta makes her a beast.

I got hook E6 before I got Seele or Pela on the current banner and I only got 1 natasha. In fact I even got an extra copy and if it were possible she would be E7 right now lmao. I was already starring to build her but now I know how
But hook needs kinda perfect artefacts with ATK crit DMG/chance and effect hit
I got the lightcone that burn enemy if they attack my trailblazer... hook attack is now always enchanced
i got yanquing for my 50 roll 5 star and seems to do same damage as starter dan the hunt carractor only advantage is seems 33% the time will do additional damage with this effect.
Damn i got purple speed boots and i thought they were bad, thx for saving my hook
