TwinBee's platformer spinoff looks and sounds awesome, and it feels a lot like a Sparkster game! If only Konami hadn't so viciously gutted it during the localization process, it would've been well-worth playing in English.
The beginning of each level with the scientist sitting down facing the huge screen has to be the most saddening track! I cry while I hear it! Just beautiful!😣
My favorite part of this as a kid, aside from the wonderful soundtrack, was how you could literally jet upwards into the sky to the very roof of space! ...And back down again. What a magical game!
One of my favourite games, my memory of this game was... haha arguing with my cousin as we never seemed to sync in our travelling speed 🤣🤣 I've always hoped that they'll remake this game and release on Switch.
As a kid, my mum made me return this to the shop because I was bragging to a mate that I completed it on the first day of having it. Turns out I had not completed the game. I had in fact finished the first level. kids are idiots...even if that kid was me
I had no idea about the differences between the Japanese original and the pal English translation as a kid. I sadly don’t own the pal version anymore but just picked up the Japanese one for SFC boxed so I’m excited. But I can’t speak Japanese. I guess I’ll follow a fan translation play through or something. But I love this game! Also the pop’n’twinbee games (still own the snes and game boy versions and recently picked up the SFC one boxed too 🙏). Cheers for this wonderful play through and the info on the differences. One of my favorite childhood games 🙏

Boy, do I wish. Unless Sakurai secretly has a boner to Twinbee, or Nintendo's demanding it, in spite of the series stuck on dormancy for years while generally unknown to mainstream gamer popculture globally... In all seriousness, go play Parodius-games - they tribute more than exceptionally towards Twinbee-franchise as a whole, way back in the series' golden heyday of the early 90s.
Capsule J's design has long been known to borrow from Twinbee - perhaps what we saw as Twinbee's general forms of movement, might even contributed to Jet-ability's powers in some ways. Of course, with Capsule J getting replaced with teensy-more generic J2 in Super Star Ultra, might be with Twinbee having lost relevancy enough to make the reference stick...
@@KonaKonaKaabisteru or copy right issues not to get flagged. But they could colab and let nintendo/hal try to revamp the series 2.5D Even make Capsule J unlockable that would be cool

But thankfully it’s not like that so much with newer games. But back in the day it was frustrating and heartbreaking. I remember seeing Final Fantasy III in Nintendo magazines and being so excited, but then it never got released here. Kinda traumatic as a kid 😸

Same!
Get high enough, and far enough, and you might get yourself a full set of power-ups, too.
Every game should allow this.
And, at the very end of the space, there were quite a few power-ups that came out of a star.
One of the best games I played during my childhood. Very cute, quirky & colourful and lot of character.
