Brandon! I took my TEAS back in February and passed the math section with an 87.5% after not being great at math, ever. I had watched your videos for a while, but I purchased the workbook the week of the exam and spent about 3 days seriously working through it and a big thank you to you, I just got accepted into nursing school and start in the fall! If I were to enter what I got for the first example which was 1 7/25, would that answer be flagged as wrong? It is correct and it is still a fraction just a Mixed fraction.
For the TEAS, this would be a multiple choice question and you would not have to worry about which form to leave it in as the question and answers will specify that. And technically... an improper fraction and a mixed number, though they are equal in value are two different ways of representing the value, but again, the question will specify how to leave it.

The Math Craft has improved my math skills. Great video!! However I do have a question with the least to greatest. You said -0.80 is greater than -0.08. Thinking money wise wouldn't -0.08 cents be less than -0.80 cents? I'm really confused with this. Can you please help me understand this
I thought the same. 0.08 is a smaller number. Measurement wise that is, but because you're dealing with negative and positive numbers aka integers its not?
Some people like to say negatives reverse things when it comes to smaller vs. bigger. 100 is greater than 1, but -100 is less than -1. This applies to all numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational, etc.
Why do we divide 128/100 by 2 in the question 1b?? I suck at math😭 I have to know the reason why in order for me to have a better understanding. I know you’re simplifying it but I’m still confused on why we’re using the number 2

A percentage is always out of 100 but with a decimal, it just depends on how many digits are after the decimal that will determine what the denominator will be?
0.752 = 75.2% = 75.2/100 = 752/1000 = 94/125. Notice the original decimal 0.752 is 752 thousandths since the right most digit (the 2) is in the thousandths place. Now, notice we did write that as a fraction as well... 752/1000. How's that?
The TI 34 on the computer? It is called TI Smartview and it is software available from Texas Instruments. The physical calculator itself can be found at most stores like Target, Best Buy, etc.

Only keep change flip.when you divide two fractions (this turns it into a multiplication problem).
is there a rule that states when to round the number when converting from a fraction to a decimal and when not to round?
There is no rule, but instead you will be asked to round at times, where as other times you can leave it as a fraction.

-100 is less than -10... Think about a bank account. The more negative a number is, the smaller it is.

The TEAS 5 did, but from what I understand, that is no longer on the TEAS 6.

Since both 128 and 100 are even numbers, we can divide by 2. We could have used 4 as well. Any common factor will work.
