I have been watching lovely drone views of The World Orienteering Championship in Edinburgh, one race left. + some Scottish Open - lovely views. I still have some plug plants to put in pots and beds🌱🌿 Happy gardening week🌻
Ooooo! Your holiday sounds great fun travelling through Europe. 😃. I sowed lots of different brassicas to go into beds to replace onions, potatoes harvests. Took ages to germinate and then stalled. Decided to transplant this weekend but they had poor root systems. We’ve Just not had enough sun for photosynthesis. Purple sprouting only just germinated a few days ago. Took two weeks!!! The salads were sown straight into the seed bed outside and they are doing much better. It’s a funny old year. Get those spring onions in, Mark!! Even if it’s just in a bucket outside the kitchen door. 😄

Luckily there are always seeds that can be done at most times of the year. I was just saying to Digwell my tomato plants are huge but because it’s too hot the flowers are dropping before they can set fruit 🤦♀️. Sounds familiar on the tomato front. Some of my plants are up to about shoulder height and so far I've picked a grand total of 2 Sungold! There's not even a lot of fruit growing on the other ones just now either. Roll on next year 👍🌱👍
Sounds amazing Mark, my husband treated me to 4 nights in Budapest in Dec 18. It was blooming freezing but what an amazing place, beautiful day & night. The Xmas markets were beautiful too 🎉

Try to find Broccoli de cicco, 48 days to maturity after transplant, and it makes many small heads, with a long time to harvest. I really like the flavour too, definitely prefer it to the broccoli raab flavour.

The white bits have the nice crunch! I find the stalks of broccoli and cauliflower are underrated too... lovely and sweet.

I think all tomatoes, in general, are tiny this year. Mine are half the height they should be!
My plants are huge 🤦♀️ but no where near as many flowers as last year, flower drop 😢😢
Its been a funny old year so far.
I'm hoping out for a decent Autumn to keep the tomatoes etc.. going a little longer than usual 👍🌱👍
