Regrettably I've never been inside that awsome church.. Very impressed with those enthusiastic & friendly parishioners including the bell ringers - MUCH IMPRESSED. Loved your improvised ear plugs 😂.

(Isobel Jobe) Thank you Steve, when I clicked onto your video and saw St Publius church, it brought back memories of visiting a few years back. I have cousins that live in Floriana, and the moment you said that you had been contacted by Stephen, I just knew that it would be my cousin who had contacted you. It was lovely to see him In the church that he loves and knows so much about. It’s a shame you couldn’t see him playing the organ, and conducting the choir, he is a valued member of this church. Thank you once again!

Fantastic! It's so interesting hearing and seeing history about the Great Seige. My cousin Marthese Fenech wrote an epic trilogy all about the knights of st. John's and the battles Malta endured during that time. Loved the bells Steve well done!

I watched in two parts. Liked the second part much better as found more interesting with the bells and the reason why it was bombed. Sad it was boomed but beautiful again. What an absolutely fabulous and historic church. Good job you were okay with heights Steve going up and down all those winding narrow stairs. Will try to visit when we are back in Malta in the autumn.

Thanks Steve. Very informative and great work from Steven.👍as well as hearing about the bells. It's a good job you are ok with heights. How's the ears?? The story about the German tourist and why they bombed St Publius is something I didn't know. Keep them coming my friend

I live very close to two churches in Valletta and am trying hard to learn to love the bells. The peals are so very different to what I was used to in the UK. I think this may help to understand them, at least... Of all this interesting vid, the bit about the air raid was the most gripping. The tragedy of Axis believing the church was being used for munitions and marking it like that and bombing it so devastatingly and fatally... yes, chilling indeed.
