that moment when sparg0 called out his jump with uair (15:31) you can see Cake thinking "okay. this guy has sauce." then there's the repeat moment (18:24) where Cake almost jumps into the uair again, but airdodges at the last second. Top tier adaptation.
If that's true 💀💀💀💀 Bro the rivals players are actually so cooked, imagine playing the more niche game and still getting beaten by the guy that plays the more popular one
Isn’t spargo new and cake been playing for years? Spargo is insane if he keeps playing I’m sure he would become top 3 and most likely take 1st place eventually. Kid shown his amazing talent for being new
@@socalsfinestcoc4727Tbh, that's not how that works. Sparg0 has played YEARS of smash. That's the whole difference. It's not like he touched a controller yesterday. Its nice to see cake on the fors again. Fleet was cool and all but what made cakeassult so cool was that he played a character nobody else played and destroyed people with it
10:40 BROTHER when the opposing character gets more value from grab than any other in the game and the opposing player is abusing that, spot dodge (which was buffed and is very strong) is gonna be the appropriate counterplay.
Not to be like that but I saw cake have the same issues fighting Clairen that I have when I play vs her. Every time you get hit, it's a 3-4 second combo, and every time you get in she frames out of damage by the second hit. Needs a rework yesterday, tippers shouldn't combo into tippers without respacing.
Need is a strong word. I think yeah smashers might have a new perspective but unlike smash for both rivals 1 and 2 there isn’t a single character that isn’t expected to be in grand finals in a major tournament. To me that sounds like a community that’s always pushing the meta.
@@jaydenvaporwave1772 I mean that in a good way. Smash players have been playing platform fighters for years, over a decade for some melee players. Their intuition and how they see the game is just different. Didn't Cake also play melee before Rivals too?

From the Jp scene. Smash fundies transfer so idk how this seems so outlandish lol.
Having cake here to hold off the other smash players from taking these tournaments makes for a great storyline

Absolute Cinema!!! 😎
The next LACS gonna be crazy, now that the best of Ultimate has caught up to the best of Rivals 1. 👌

One of the best sets I've ever seen. Huge GGs to both players, this was absolute cinema
What a goated set, love to see spargos clairen. He held up excellently.
Nah, now THIS is a set. I love the adapations and mental games going on throughout. Probably one of the most enjoyable sets for BOTH sides
why are the graphics settings so low lol
The low graphic settings is really distracting but love the gameplay
jumpscare of Sparg0 in grand finals vs Cake (he is so good)

This is the first time anyone took cake to game 5 in months, spargo kinda exposed us in the rivals community
rivals players figure out being one of if not the best players in a different game of the same genre means many of the fundamentals transfer 😱
the Rivals 1 #1 vs The Ultimate #1
that set was amazing!
He makes forsburn look so op....
There is a Rivals 1 patch where the devs literally said "We are not nerfing Forsburn, Cake is just that much better than all of you"
