I love what Tate is doing. She is following the school of what janet jackson usually does and has done for almost 40 years which is perform a new song during promo season full out in its choreography. Then when tour season comes around they will lighten up the choreography load so she can sing the song properly. E.g. would be when Janet debuted doesn't really matter on the VMAS and TOTPs vs what she did on the all for you tour.

I just saw the clip that she posted on her own socials and it highlights the point at the end where she harmonizes and sings alongside the last bit of the song. I was hoping that meant we would get our first proper vocal showcase. I’m not disappointed that she only chose to dance to the song because the choreo routine is amazing, but I do wonder if she will sing it going forward? Maybe she’s intimidated by the pacing and the cadence. In her defense, it does have her spitting out the words pretty quickly. I could see not wanting to flub it if she had to sing the whole song. Still, I know she can do it!! I hope she will in time!

@@jerryjaguar3239 I can definitely see that and I agree with you, there does seem to be a plan of attack as it were. And like I said, I’m not bothered by it, I can see choosing to perform it like this giving the song the necessary room to breathe and do most of the heavy lifting. Honestly, everything about this particular single rollout has felt a lot more distilled. From the video to the lyric video, the VEVO footnotes inclusion, the various sit downs and radio plugs, etc. Tate and co. seem to have the right idea on what will give the song a better and longer shelf life, so I’m really happy about that. She deserves to be big, big and I am hoping this new track is the right stepping stone to properly usher that in.

she is singing LIVE every song, but since this one is a full dance track, she decided to sing only a few parts and sing the rest, a real pop star !

I was there and the beginning and end was live. At the end she did some new pretty runs (“no I don’t want yaaaaAaaAAaaa). But she needs to figure out how to sing and dance this one at the same time. Maybe use some precorded live vocal trickery like so many others do
