Interesting discussion about Nicholas's motives and his grand plan of procuring a race of evil superhumans to please Diabolos. But there's a new development here. Nicholas seems to be falling for Eve and appears to approve of her desire to destroy Adam forever. How can Nicholas allow that after going through great trouble and pain to ensure no harm come to Barnabas and Adam, ensuring the success of his evil race of superhumans?!
@@deanbianco4982 Nicholas is not going to let anyone get in the middle of his plans. While he may admire Eve's personality, the only woman he has eyes for is Maggie. That's why he had Angelique bite Joe to lure him away from Maggie.

From a plot perspective it seems odd that the writers would have written in the part about Joe going to see Barnabus to deliver a message from Maggie then showing him outside afterward as though the plan had worked - an unseen intervention from Nicolas would nullify whatever subplot they had started. That said, it’s obvious that the writers struggle to fill time because every dialogue between 2 characters goes back and forth at least a few times - Julia and Barnabus especially. I don’t remember this plot line so I guess we’ll see…🤔
@@pjesf BethHarmon-y9d is correct. Joe is just a pawn controlled by Nicholas through Angelique. When Angelique told Joe that she will see that the situation is resolved and then leaves, where do you think she went? Obviously, straight to Nicholas. Then shortly thereafter someone knocks on Joe's door and after that Joe abandons the idea of running away with Maggie to go to the old house to tell Barnabas that Maggie wants to see him. Only two people could be controlling Joe to do that, Angelique and Nicholas. Since Angelique is no longer a witch who could erase her memory, the only way she could control Maggie to go along with the plan would be to bite her, but Nicholas would never allow that. Nicholas has already been shown to have the power to erase memories by doing so to Vicky and to Carolyn. Angelique would know that he has that power. Therefore, it must have been Nicholas at the door coming to clean up Angelique's mess once again as I'm sure he would have pointed out to Angelique. In addition, Nicholas wants to protect Maggie. He knows that by erasing her memory and using Joe to tell Barnabas that Maggie wants to see him, when Barnabas sees for himself that Maggie's memory of her recent and prior abductions has been erased so that she is no longer a threat to him, then Barnabas will have no motive to eliminate Maggie to protect his secrets. Nicholas also knows about the bond between Barnabas and Adam so he cannot let Barnabas be destroyed. He also does not want to have the police investigating and possibly finding out that Adam is still in the area since he is still wanted by the police. If the police also find out about the experiment and Eve, that could also spoil Nicholas plans for using Adam and Eve to create a race of beings loyal to Nicholas' master Diabolos. Thus, by erasing Maggie's memories of her abductions, Nicholas brilliantly eliminates any threat to his plans for Adam and Eve while protecting Maggie. What is strange is that Barnabas deduces that Nicholas is responsible for erasing Maggie's memories because he is the only one capable of doing so, but he fails to further deduce that Nicholas' motive for doing so is because Professor Stokes was correct about Nicholas summoning Danielle Roget's soul from the depths of Hell to provide the life force for Eve for some nefarious plot that Nicholas is hatching which Stokes and Barnabas need to uncover.
@@luminiferous1960 Interesting - you mentioned someone being at the door and that it must have been Nicolas - was that in the scene where Angelique disappeared after biting Joe? Seems like that happened very soon after Maggie arrived - too soon for Nicolas to have gotten there. All of what you said seems plausible though 👍🏻
Alot happens in this episode and makes a person wish they had every episode to watch at home! I indeed look forward untill tomorrow! DS fan forever! ❤
I really enjoyed this episode! Marie Wallace is great as Eve!
You can see that Nicholas is trying to be patient with Adam and his questions and doubts. Not an easy thing.
