You’ve sure dialled in some very distinctive nuances / dynamics that really change up the sound “personality” of the bands mentioned. As soon as you play the barre chords vs power chords for Ramones it is like night and day and add the down picking it is the right voice.

What kind of TubeScreamer were you using? Do you think that is the best pedal to get a 90s pop punk tone (BR, NOFX) through a Fender amp/ Princeton? I had KOT clone pedal and it definitely did not have enough distortion to get there (at least at low volume). Thanks! great video!
I’m using a TS-9X. The turbo mode gives it just enough distortion. The OG TS9 is a little too clean. I recommend the Boss DS-1 for more modern punk tone like BR and NOFX. The lowest setting kind of picks up where the TS9X ends and the highest is very distorted.
@ScottO. Just wondering what string gauge you are using? I can get those unison bends pretty well but doing a lot of them is rough. What gauge do you think punks who did this technique a lot were using back in the day? I've seen a number of people claim Chuck Berry in the 1950s was one of the first players to make up his own light string sets before they were commercially available and his was playing like an eight for the high E. Am I crazy to be playing a ten set on Gibson scale guitar and trying to do a lot of bends?? Not sure I want to go lighter because I'm pretty heavy handed on chords.
@edgytryhard Thanks! Actually not so obvious to me as I have been working on these unisons. I saw Leslie West in a video interview going on about how he plays single notes in solos with only two fingers because his middle finger is always used to support the ring finger in doing those big bends. I practiced this for a while with single note bends but it has unfortunately slipped my mind... need to get back on that and also see if I can somehow work that technique into unison bends. @@bassman5948 Thanks for the suggestion but I'm already using Ernie Ball 10-52 hybrids. I don't want to go less than 52 on the low E so I'm hesitant to go with lighter sets. I actually like 56 on the low E so the 10-52 is already a little compromise. The suggestion somebody had here of using more than one finger might be the ticket. Gonna see if I can do something with that later today.
I use the Ernie Ball 10's. Part of it is building strength through repetition. You can also use multiple fingers when bending for extra strength. I don't particularly like anything skinnier than 9's. I've tried 8's before and they lack life and almost feel too loose for me. I hope that helps!

Maybe an obvious tip, but try to use multiple fingers when bending. Much easier.
Maybe try a set of hybrid stings, heavy bottom light top
