The Paul Lynde Show (Episode 26) - Springtime for Paul This episode is rated TV-G and hope you enjoy watching this! All credits in the description below.
@@thomasparnell1025Yep, ABC really don’t try to hard with this show. Heck, they only green lighted It to finish off Paul’s contact from Bewitched. There were two years left on the Bewitched contract, and the network didn’t want to run a second season of this show, so they dumped Paul into Temperatures Rising. They would have done better with this. TR didn’t work with 3 different casts. Honestly, Paul would have done better with a live variety show, ala Dean Martin or Flip Wilson. He was a character actor. Probably one of the best in the history of comedic performance. However, his talent was snark, one liners and zingers. Only Roseanne Barr ever pulled that one off for a successful series. Paul’s worth lay in wordplay, quickness of response, and that little neurotic quiver in his voice. Great for Uncle Arthur, not Darrin. Not enough physical comedy in his bag. One of the best co-stars/guest stars of the era.
It has a strange campy feel. Like everyone here knows he is gay and they are pretending he isnt. It has a weird tone for a sitcom. Unique, bi-level set, too.
I can't believe this is on, Thank You for posting this!!! I love Paul Lynde!! He is the best comedic actor ever... He was so funny on Bewitched!!!! He played a driving instructor, on Bewitched, before Uncle Arthur!!! He was a riot!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.... I love him very much, he is the funniest, ever!!!! He was so great on Hollywood Squares!!! Miss him dearly!!! ❤❤❤... 🤣🤣.. 💯💯💯... 🌹🌹🌹...
It didn’t do bad in the ratings, but when the network slots you against All In The Family and Adam 12, you figure out pretty quick the network isn’t trying real hard to help you succeed. They were just trying to get Paul and his contract off their hands.
@dgwaters Wow, this is the first time I've seen Frank acting on screen. His voice gives him away, and it's funny his name is Freddy in this episode too!
I just grabbed it off the shelf without looking...the same way I got you!! 😂 This show is so cringeworthingly over the top, but some of Paul's lines are hilarious!

This show ran during the 1972-1973 season, on Wed. nights ABC.....it was created to fullfill the Bewitched contract when Elizabeth Montgomery grew tired of doing Bewitched and left
Whatever happened to the beautiful Christopher Norris? So popular in the 70’s and 80’s. We share an Oct. 7 th birthday. She is particularly charming and perky in this episode. …great figure!!! :)
This show had several eps for just one year. This one is the 26th. But, during the 1960s-1980s most tv shows were of first run eps from late August on through to late May, about like each school year. I watched tv alot, from 1965 on through to 1989. THAT was the era of terrific sitcoms and dramas. That blond gal was a ditz, and really blatant at wearing a bikini during her job interview. Even if the interviewer were a woman, it would still be bad taste. That man in the red sweater, dad to Julie, looked like the man in the 1970s sitcom "Arnie", who played the part of Arnie.
@michellepost3098 Until the fall of 1967, all TV seasons ran from Sept.-June. On average, TV series had 36-39 episodes per season. Because of changes in the union and to save costs, starting Sept. 1967, the "Summer reruns" became the Spring reruns. Now TV seasons ran From Sept-March, and on average series had 26 episodes a season. Viewers complained about expanding reruns from 3 to 6 months, but the networks stuck with it.
I notice that you are talking about the episode "An Affair to Forget". I remember waiting for that episode to come out in the schedule but it was skipped.
Obviously people don't know good material. It's a mystery what takes off and what doesn't. This show seemed pretty good. I never, ever understood the fascination with "Friends" or "Seinfeld". Some shows they let run too long, I.E. "Mash" and "Andy Griffith Show". They ran out of material and the last few seasons were terrible. The "in color" Andy shows were just awful. Howard Spraque and Andy's new deputy, just awful. That show should have ended when Barney left
Fun! I just dont think he is believable in the role of a husband and father, and the sexual plot here is kinda bent. I wonder if this show slowed Elizabeth Allen’s career down? They had him fall down on the floor often for a laugh, too, i notice. Lol.
This show was criticized at the time and through the years. But watching this, other than the over-done flirting scenes by Paul, this had some good writing. I think it could have lasted if they didn't go overboard with some of Paul Lynde's scenes. It was awkward watching him look at that young girl's breasts. Nevertheless I laughed a lot, especially the last scenes.
Clothing of the early '70s is often downright horrid, and this episode is showcasing some of the worst. It's hard to believe how much better the characters looked in Maude, which premiered in the same year. The looks on that show are dated, but not in a bad way.

I can't believe this show only lasted 1 season! This is a treasure.
I enjoyed this show also, but they put the show up against 2 stronger shows on NBC & CBS, & that killed it off So glad it's on TH-cam

The guy in the yellow T-shirt is veteran voice actor Frank Welker. (Freddy from Scooby-Doo!)

This is wonderful that its here for us to enjoy!
"Are they oddballs or do they drink" 🤣. He was good on "Bewitched"
I love this and it's the best show I ever seen. Best show ever seen compared to today

I'm sure Paul flirted with the tall blond man playing the son in law off camera!

Th is is the final episode of the Series
😪
😭😭😭
Then how does that explain Howies short hair in the 1st episode and the secend episode it was alot longer?
I liked Roger Carmel in Star Trek as Harry Mudd.
Nurse Ripples for the win in this episode.

She appeared in Airport 1975 and later she had a long run on the TV series Trapper John, M.D.
She was really gorgeous, loved her on Trapper John MD
Hilarious!
Is he wearing a wig?

I believe that was Herschel Bernardi who played 'Arnie'....
Same story line was used on bewitched.
Exactly!
Harry Mudd!
They never gave this show a chance! It should have lasted 5 seasons it was a great show! RIP Paul Lynde.
Do you have the episode with Paul and Jo Ann Worley?
I don't think so but Antenna TV had usually skipped a few episodes in the list, probably that they might be lost episodes or so.

So sad to learn that he's no longer with us!
I barely remember this show .
Pamelyn Ferdin is too cute.
No really. Waaaaaay too cute. I gagged briefly.
