I do not know exactly what type it was, can be normal copper wire, it have plating layer, and not dark by time you can change to suit the material you have

You have to oxidize it, polish it, Then cover a layer of protection so that it doesn't change over time. that's a general rule, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Normally I calculate the wire according to stone or circumference : the standard wire length x the ratio of stone or circumference. For example, if the stone is twice as big, we use a wire of double length ( compared to the wire needed with small stones) . However it depends on the sample there are different changes.
