Your show brings me so much joy! It reminds me of the car shows I used to love on cable. I mean that in all sincerity, as a compliment. Such a great formula.
I'm currently living with a Land Rover Freelander and it is really nice but if I was gonna go for another car it will be a Velar : good looking, really good on road (where a vast majority of owner will spend 98 % of their time anyway) and pretty capable off road...what a nice car. PS : love yours videos and Merry Christmas from France!
Decent off-road review thanks. From the reviews I've seen by actual owners of these cars these things are actually pretty reliable too. All the haters gonna hate regardless of experience.
Merry Christmas Ryan to you, your family and your crew. Seems we are going to have a rainy one vs snow, cold and or icy one. Even our Mt. is taking it easy this holiday. Have a good one!
Thank you Ryan for another terrific review. This channel is the best on TH-cam. I am looking forward to your 2025 reviews of the new Toyota 4Runner and Honda Passport TrailSport. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I used to have a lifted Disco Sport and it was very capable. I have the Disco 5 and for some reason I felt more secure and capable in the Disco Sport when doing harder off road trails. The Land Rover Terrain Response in non low range and locker based Rovers is excellent in my opinion. In my Disco 5, I rarely engage the low range or locker.
I know I'm in the minority on this but I actually don't mind having no buttons. I love the minimalist design, how easy it is to clean, and in my car (Model Y) I just use voice commands for everything
People just need to complain. There’s that lady from motor mouth channel who complains about not having gearshift levers in some cars. Like how often do you use a gear known in a modern aromatic for it to consume so much space?! It’s hard for people to think logically.
No it's the only debate. EVs for the win. I think the Rivian doesn't have to do much to be better than any range Rover. They are overpriced turds on wheels, (mostly) driven by obnoxious turds with a superiority complex.
Seems decent though I really wonder how reliable it will be. Sadly, the '26 Subaru Outback upper trims will also join the large wheel/skinny tire crowd, along with its boxy Forester-like profile.
Ryan I have looked for an email address to message you but cannot find one. Myself and my husband have a 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance and would like to lend it to you for testing. Reach out to me in this comment and let me know where to email you with personal information to make this happen. So you already know it’s a 2024 Model Y Performance and it has the Michelin Pilot sport AS 4’s I believe
The Velar is not an off-road vehicle. It's a luxury conveyance for rich folk to drive from their London Chelsea townhouse. To their country estate. The old farmers' workhorse is long gone. There's more profit in these luxury fashion statements.
Can’t find any specs on the Land Rovers…; because it was designed and engineered when it was owned by Ford prior to the brand’s sale, Just like the 2.0 turbo engine in the Évoque and other LRJ, the original was 3.0 v6 supercharged vs turbo version of the ecoboost, look no further than the Lincoln aviator/Ford Explorer to see the dna….
Although newer range rovers are genuinely junk to someone who wants to work on their own vehicles, I find the velar is a gorgeous SUV. Considering it was released in 2017, the car still doesn’t look dated.
Seems like a very nice vehicle. $82k is a bit pricey though, especially considering the Velar ( and Range Rover in general) has horrible reliability ratings.
4:40 Land Rover is vague about AWD
7:00 Fun to drive, too dependent on screen, no switches
11:00 Midsize SUV, not compact
15:00 Off road
One day they’ll add chapters to their videos 😅
Your show brings me so much joy! It reminds me of the car shows I used to love on cable. I mean that in all sincerity, as a compliment. Such a great formula.
Strangely enough the Velar is one of the best looking luxury SUVs. That said, in typical Range Rover fashion, this is a lease only car.

Could you please do a top 10 cars you tested this year? Best and worst moments!

Ryan, Merry Christmas to you and the whole team that puts these videos together. 🎄🎄
To you as well!
One of the best I follow - super knowledgeable, full and honest information and finally very sympathetic
Thank you for helping me decide between the velar and the range rover sport...I've decided on the RR sport
Velcro is what the straps on your Ross shoes are made of.
One of the finest channels on TH-cam.
Many thanks. ❤
Enjoyed the AWD Explanation and thanks for including metric measurements.

It's so quiet inside that you can hear it depreciate every mile you drive!
nice video .....merry christmas.

I would love to see a Cybertruck in your hands! You do the best off-road videos!
Wonder if the reason he hasn't had one yet is because they know something will go wrong on his trails lol
Such beautiful and capable vehicles. It’s a shame JLR doesn’t care about reliability at all.
I went to the L.A. Auto show and noticed the door control buttons on some makes and models are getting tiny. Have you noticed ?
IMO Land Rover makes the most beautiful SUVs on the planet.
Pretty luxurious car for off road. But ryan don't care. Great review. Greetings
Setting the ICE vs EV debate aside, the Rivian R1S seems to be a heck of a lot more value than this
No it's the only debate. EVs for the win. I think the Rivian doesn't have to do much to be better than any range Rover. They are overpriced turds on wheels, (mostly) driven by obnoxious turds with a superiority complex.
At that price, I would just get the Lexus GX 550. Happy Holidays
The bots love your videos. 😂
Oh, I thought they really loved me. 😂
Very nice car

4:34 It's not just you.
I really wish I could buy a luxury automobile with real buttons and smaller wheels. Why are those luxuries reserved for the economy class???
For 82k I would get a Lexus GX which is a proper off-road vehicle
Is it just me or does the rear end look like Honda Prologue?
If it does, then the Prologue copied the Velar. The latter has been in production since 2017.
13:51 I've seen this infamous shot before.

Thanks for the offer. Due to liability concerns we don't test viewer vehicles.
@ well darn.

Having 4wd and a low range gear is how I generally differentiate an off-road vehicle from those that are not. This is not.
"No low range, just a normal 8-speed automatic transmission" - with eight gears the first and maybe the second can be low range.
Certainly can be an aggressive 1st or 2nd ratio but definitely not a replacement for a low range transfer case.
Technically could. Few rarely do.
they have made a mistake removing the buttons and defender is selling better due to this
Ryan please stick to the Wednesday and Saturday video release timetable
We normally do, but there’s Christmas this Wednesday.
They took away everything that used to be good and kept everything that don't work over time. It's very English of them. 😂😂
Trim around rear Air vents straight out of trash bin. Cheap looking plastic. I been in one of these lately. Interior is very cheap. I mean very cheap.
it does not have laminated side glasses👎👎👎 11.4 inch screen is small 👎👎👎

All newer vehicles are junk for DIY’ers
Seems like a very nice vehicle. $82k is a bit pricey though, especially considering the Velar ( and Range Rover in general) has horrible reliability ratings.
No thks.....
A revamped Vogue? As shitty reliability as a Vogue?
Everybody copies Toyota's ATRAC and Crawl Control.
Okay but Toyota stole land rovers terrain response had the nerve to call it Multi-Terrain Select (MTS)😂😂😂😂😂
@@Aurora_v_cali I guess there is no honor among automotive thieves. 😆😆
@@iwazaru8101 nope 🫠🥰
Land Rover developed Terrain Response in-house
@@ryanjonathanmartin3933 Okay folks. My tongue-in-cheek comment is clearly causing some butthurt for loyal LR snowflakes. Calm down and move on, mate.
BORING
but because of the THE badge right there is where you get a blown engine and transmission at 10k miles
too much talking
🤮🤮🤮🤮 overpriced garbage
About as off-road capable as a Rav4. At least the Rav4 is reliable.
I can't take any SUV seriously if it doesn't even have low-range.
Doesn't need low range. It's not an offroader.
