    I have a 3 storey house
    had a quote for scaffold from 500 to 950 and then 100 to 200 to replace the bracket.
    I've now found my own aluminium scaffolding for 66 pounds for the week and I'm going up with a £4 bracket from DIY shop and doing it myself for £70 total

    No mention of screws in the fittings and removing roof tile to gain access.
    Just replaced my leaking gutter joints not straight forward like you are saying.
    They were Bartol no longer made but the floplast fittings from Wickes are a good or even better fit,screwed back with stainless steel screws.

      Mine has a magnet or you can put a clip/hook on the end if you drop something down a cavity. It also has LED lights on the end for looking under cabinets or down wall cavities. You can take still or short footage on your mobile phone. Handy for looking under gutters lol

    I'm guessing the reason why it was shorter than the original is that the one you replaced it with was metric and the other imperial?

    What is the black plastic sheeting you have between the gutter and the roofing tiles and is it easily fitted. Great video as always 👍

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a tile underlay that goes completely over the roof. You have to remove all the roof tiles to fit it.

    What would you recommend as a way to fix a leaking gutter seal (on an elbow) when a replacement elbow can’t be obtained? I have 100 mm half-round Rymway guttering that’s now obsolete.

    • @dereton33

      Dry off and clean joints and apply CT1 mastic. Do not use any cheap stuff though, this is the only stuff that works.

    Hey Al.. have a question unrelated to this video but thought I would ask can't find any answers online. My kitchen sink mixer hot tap has turned 'spongy'. If I try and shut the tap off tight it won't, gently springs back. No leaks or drip but doesn't seem right. Boiler was replaced last week and the water is much hotter than before do you think the washer has changed due to being exposed to hot water? Thanks for the great videos.

Really recommend if you can find one for around this price they were originally £1500 and measure well against DACs costing double that! £300 ex display from Richer Sounds 👍

    the very bit I needed to see was edited out. I want to know how to get the gutter into the joining bits that join the two parts, I can't see how to get them in without snapping something.

      Just pull the gutter into the rear slot then pull the gutter the other side into the clip.

    Hi, really good video and you did make it look very simple. I want to replace two existing connectors with new ones that I bought. Unfortunately when I tried to take off the old one, which is the same type as yours, polypipe I think, there is a screw that holds the old connector in place and it is extremely awkward to get to and undo. You don't actually show this in the video. Without being able to undo the old connector I'm a bit stuck and I have two leaking ones. I can't even replace just the broken clips , as the new ones are a modified design, to stop the clips breaking so easily I think. Still it was good to see how you did it. Any tips for getting the screws off? I've tried wd40

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A hammer and a tight fitting screwdriver, Over than that, ease a screwdriver behind the bracket and lever it off.

    • @roundtheloopandback
      @roundtheloopandback 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If what dereton33 says with the hammer and screwdriver trick doesn't work try a squirt of plusgas which will basically disolve any rust then try again :) never fails that stuff
