OMG Shneur! I can't believe you surf launched during those crazy conditions. You are legend for making it out and catching those huge calis! Great work and great vid!
Oh ya was super epic so glad you you stopped by! For Santa Monica I would recommend a swimbait for slow rolling/covering a bit of water (casting a lot) and for a bit more of a dead stick lure i would recommend either a slug or a fluke! Good luck out there :)
hey man I'ma freshwater fisher man but im going to the Santa monica pier soon and its my second time saltwater fishing so what would you recommend what to get to catch pelico bass and other species i can catch with?
So just to give you a heads up, fishing off these saltwater piers can be crazy struggle because of how pressured they are, I’ve personally caught nothing big on plastics there the past few trips which is my person favorite way to fish but it’s hard, so don’t get discouraged if it’s tough out there because everyone is probably struggling, but I wish you some amazing luck when you head there, I would recommend to catch anything that swims is probably either muscle or shrimp on a sabiki rig, but for something bigger like a ray or bass or maybe a shark I would say tie some bottom rig with a heavier weight and put either a cut up sardine or anchovie, I hope this helps you in some way, always love helping others out, because I was in your place about last year just struggling, so glad I’m able to help 🤙
