    They are all very nice indeed but I love the old Thorens and the Korf arm development is fascinating.

    I enjoyed this up close turntable video, Ken. Looking forward to your printed reviews.

    Excellent tour Ken, thanks. But how did they get Serinus to listen to a turntable? I thought he was a digital-only guy!

    If i have to choose one, your old Thorens will be the one. Very interesting video Ken, as always

    Thanks for the video, Ken. It makes a change to see some proper interesting designs instead of the usual budget selections of “best” turntables.

    Your TD-124 now looks better than ever.. Are you going to review the Retrotone replacement top platter?

    • @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455
      @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Retrotone is nice. Big improvement over my warped platter. But it doesn’t fit snuggly onto the spindle. Which is sort of a problem. I think I’ll do it as part of a review of something else.

    J. SIKORA absolutly fantastic tables ...

    The belt on the Feikert appears to be riding in the wrong spot on the motor pulleys. Kevin Deal's video shows it central on the bowed area as with most pulleys of this shape. Nice look at these beautiful turntables.

    • @dixonkim8659
      @dixonkim8659 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Actually, I think you're referring to the J.Sikora turntable. I noticed it too. J.Sikora...some day!

      @Mrsteve4761 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dixonkim8659No, the Feikert has the issue I describe. However the Sikora has a belt issue too.

      I own a dr. Feickert Volare and the belt position in the video is indeed wrong. The belt should be positioned at the slightly bowed portion between the 2 cylindrical portions of the pulley!

    Hello Ken,
    Hmm, I haven't owned a Record Player since the mid 1980s when I was Importing all the various Players England produced , I don't personally know anyone that still does vinyl .
    However , I find you and your reporting valuable and well worth holding on to ,
    Steve G. is another wonderful keep .
    I would still have Stereophile except the new JA2 kicked me off , John Atkinson is the finest and best Audio Mag. Editor evah! I even did the Subscriptions for HFN&RR when JA was Editor ( England's best Audio Mag.)
    I miss Tyll
    You lads are the greatest , thanks for being there !

    Own a Lenco l75 and would never ever go back to a belt again, maybe a direct drive. But man the sense of propulsion on old idler tables is insane.

    The Thorens is my favorite. Ken what is the square footage of your apt? Just curious

  • @tommyparks387
    @tommyparks387 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Do you get to keep one? Thorens 124 every time! I’d switch out arm for SME. Love you’re videos Ken.

      Thank you for the kind words. The thorn is mine, and I’ll try to keep a couple of the other tables for review references. The Korf arm is great. Certified great by Mike Trei the spin doctor.

  • @louiesipes2257
    @louiesipes2257 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Been eyeballing that Korf tonearm and read M. Trei’ review but your thoughts? Easy to set up? Adjust? I own a couple of the headshells…..

    • @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455
      @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You have to be gentle with it, but yes, it is easy to set up. Like Mike says, the mounting assembly is sort of delicate and flexible, but the tone arm with the ceramic headshell sounds incredible.

    Nice turntables! But was wondering what speakers you are using in such a small apartment?

    • @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455
      @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Voxativ Ampeggio, Volti Razz, Devore Super Nines

    • @mhegerman1977
      @mhegerman1977 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Those are some great sounding speakers! I have yet to hear the Voxativ, but I have always liked the Volti Razz. Also interesting to see that you moved "up" to the Super Nines from the O/96 -- especially in a smaller room. Anyway, very envious of all your gear. Nice setups!

    I agree with you on the Cambridge and feel of the cue lever. I have a Technics SL-1500C and I hate, hate, hate the cue lever. It looks and feels like a ten cent cheap toy. Technics really missed the bus on that part of the design.

  • @EddieJazzFan
    @EddieJazzFan 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Does that Cambridge Alva use it's own special headshell or can you use the regular Technics type to experiment with different carts?

    On the Dr. Feickert Volare 25th Limited Edition turntable, the flat belt should run in the MIDDLE of the pulley and not on top!

    • @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455
      @kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I attempted to do that, as that seemed the correct alignment. But the belt kept snapping to the top of the pulley!

    • @TTVEaGMXde
      @TTVEaGMXde 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 If the belt is not too wide, it should run in the middle area. I have never experienced such a problem.
