Were your parents easy to speak to when you were younger?

    • @ItsMeDee3
      @ItsMeDee3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

My parents were not the best of speaking with me or my siblings about intimacy, or anything else! The talk was more like don’t do it. So I talk to my kids and will continue to speak on taboo subjects to let my kids know that me and my husband are here to answer question they might have or help find the answer. As me being a nurse it is wild to see what I see as a first responder. Be safe with your kids and your own bodies people are not required to tell you there medical background out of fear. Educate yourself then your kids

Coming from both muslim and christain background, my father used to tell me to do ablution wudu and then pray directly to God and my mom used to say wake up odd hours of the night and talk to god and he will guide u and i did that as a child and it really helped i never got depressed and it helped me alot with my negative thoughts and feelings

I feel that this is such good content Adam.
Kids have to know that they are loved and they have a safe space to express themselves

Adam, I agree with you! My parents would NEVER EVER ask how I was feeling. Mom from Jamaica, father from Haiti. Even moments you would try to express that, it would be ignored or looked past. It was not a thing in our household. Like you said, it was frowned upon. I am completely different with my kids. I am constantly asking my oldest how she is feeling, how something made her feel, and if she asks, I tell her. She does ask about death and things that are on the news etc, and I tell her in a kid friendly way. Also, I apologize. If I know I messed up or did something that was reactionary, I will say sorry and I will mean it.

I actually love this content. God bless your soul Adam. As someone who grew up with an inconsistent and horrible father, it makes me feel glad that there are fathers like you out there. Thank you for showing me what it would have looked like to have a proper father figure.

Growing up my parents didn’t really talk about much it wasn’t until adulthood they was ready for real tough conversations.
    Great talk with the children.
    More content please Adam.

Great topic and necessary, i deal with anxiety and depression and it’s important to have an outlet to speak to. I don’t necessarily have a person at this moment. But I rely a lot on good!

I definitely can relate with my parents but it was necessary for me to have them with my daughter as much as possible. Not just one time you have to refresh their memories. My daughter and I are so open in conversations all this time.. this is a great video ❤

They are at a great age to have this conversation with. I don’t have any children but I do have nieces and nephews that I will be talking to about these type of things. Thanks Adam!

Catching up on videos. Great content. As a teacher please continue these convos with your kids. Especially children of divorce/co parenting. Make sure your kids can tell u ANYTHING & EVERYTHING regardless of who its about.

Adam. I praised you for having these tough conversations. As an educator we are pushed to use social and emotional check ins with our students but I wish more parents started having these check ins. Children get a lot of exposure to everything at schools and in the world so we have to equipped them. Great job Guarding their minds and their hearts. 🤍✨

I was brought in the generation where those things are not talked about. But I try to be in tune with my children about what is going on in their lives. Always asking questions. You are great dad ❤

Born and raised in an East African Indian family. I kept all my feelings inside, because when I expressed them no one knew what to. Not their fault. Not my fault. Child of immigrant parents comes with so many challenges. When you know better, you do better. You’re breaking cycles with your babies. That’s what it’s all about, I think. Great vid. I’d say you’re doing it right!

Most of the time in South African black families, children are not permitted to ask questions or have an opinion and parent's don't apologise if they are wrong.
I got into ALOT of trouble for speaking my mind and asking questions 😂
Parents need to talk to their kids before they hear stuff elsewhere !
    Great vlog 💕
Awww Zayn, well done budd 😂💕

Beautiful video. Random question Adam... Can you make a video of Tanzania? I remember you being from there and Ive always wanted to go so would be interesting to hear it from your point of view. Maybe you could recommend good places to visit in Tanzania/Zanzibar and recommend people to reach out to if anyone wants to go🤗❤️
    Love from the uk

If Adam is going to interview people (or generally ask people questions) he should try not to interrupt them whilst they're speaking.

The fact that Latoya is pregnant and her baby daddy looks like she found him on the corner of a liquor store. Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ what is going on!!! It looks a mess I thought she was done having kids.
