Thank you so much for all your information, it’s helped so much. It dawned on me that I don’t know if you work in acrylics or oil.
Glad this has been helpful! OIL paint!! how did I forget to mention that?!!! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!!
Do you need to use air filtration with your oil paint materials?
I use all non-toxic mediums with oil paints and find it unnecessary to use an air filtration system. Thanks for asking!
Thank you Marianne for this video. I recently found your channel and very appreciate your advices! Have you always worked with oil? I think I saw acrylic works on your website, why did you switch, what influenced your decision?
Hi Yuliya! Many thanks for your interest and kind comments... Oils and Acrylics... I was trained in art school to use oils and worked in oil for about 10 years, and then took decided to only work in oil pastels for health reasons. A few years later I missed working with paint so took up acrylics and painted with acrylic for 15 years. I went back to oil in 2015 when I realized that luminosity was much more important to me at this point in my artistic expression, and, it is now much more possible to paint without toxic mediums than it was 20+ years ago. I LOVE oils! Will most likely keep my acrylics permanently on the shelf!

Thank you Marianne for the detailed explanation. I do paint (time to time) landscapes in oil, and really love oil. Lately I started thinking to shift towards abstraction (semi-abstract landscape) and thought maybe I should use acrylics for this purpose. Would you consider making a video on the pros and cons of oil and acrylic based on your experience in both media? I find your philosophy very interesting and love your paintings!
@@yuliyagordy Yes! The pros/cons of oil and acrylics is a great topic for a YT video...
stay tuned!
