The Veer was one of the greatest offenses of that day. I really miss some of the offenses and coaches. Bill Yoeman was one of the best for sure. He invented the Veer Offense.
Also, back in the day when there were only 10 Bowl games reserved for teams that had a really good year, not 40 Bowls made up of a lot of 7-5 and 6-6 teams that were expanded to become a 3 hour infomercial by the corporate sponsors and added revenues for Disney, and NFL rookies made 75k a year, not 8 million/yr. I don't fault these kids one bit for protecting their future to skip a Cheez-It commercial football bowl game. When the big bowl games like the Orange Bowl became the FED EX Orange Bowl, it's obvious everyone was looking for the dollars, so to blame a 22 year old kid protecting his only chance to be a millionaire in a sport where one knee injury ends his chances, is unfair. These Bowl's were once a great idea and then became a beautiful spectacle that should have become extinct gracefully, but old money and greed kept them as propped up pomp at the degradation of top teams meeting to find out who's best, as the declaration of a "national champion" was a farce for over 40 years when it didn't have to be. At least we'll eventually get the 8 to 16 team playoff that the sport should have had since the 80's.
A fabulous memory with the truly GREAT Bill Yeoman as our Head Coach. May he Rest In Peace.

The Glory days of UH Football.
I was there.
What a great feeling.
Nebraska had great and honorable fans.
I was there too !!
Yoeman has so much class.
That's 2 of them on the field that day.
Back in the day when players weren't opting out and bowl games meant something to the schools, fans and players.
Back when coaches didn’t leave to bigger programs and give on former teams before bowl games

Rip Mr. Yeoman
What great footage welcome to the big 12 Houston you play my team K-state in Manhattan this year and beating Nebraska is always great
I’ll always like the old logo better.
Houston has had some really good teams through the years but have a hard time getting recognition for them.
I was there a great game
My first year at UH. What a game.
Bill Yeomen was the starting center for Army in 1946 when Army and Notre Dame played in the first Game of the Century. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Houston ran the Veer offense.
It's crazy because the year before they lost to Notre Dame in the last second
That pass was out of bounds.
Hated Montana ever since.
@@bigroy38 who is your nfl team
My cousin Eric made that happen
I wonder if Fred Couples was at this game
Damn, that was a lucky catch!
RIP Tery Elston.
Okay correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the coach just tell what they were going to do on national TV?? Geez is anything real on television
Split Back Veer at it's best.
Split back veer and its designer
