Assalamu Alaika Please you talked about tahajjud is when you sleep and wake up at the third of the night bah but if you have insomnia and you can't sleep until after fajr
I think what distinguish them is the strive to wake up for Tahajjud, (that was why he said, it is only the chosen ones that can wake up for Tahajjud)and most times, based on calculations Tahajjud is mostly(depends on time zone) an hour or half before fajr.
