If anyone say they are the best all female rock band of the last century, I won't argue. Great musicians, memorable songs, charismatic, fabulous frontwoman. And they are still rocking today! Respect to these legends.
I would argue that if Show-Ya was a western band they would be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and talked about in the same breathe as Led Zeppelin and Metallica. They've had that big of an impact in Japan. You also can't discount the effect their Naon no Yaon Festival has had on getting this seemingly endless stream of great Japanese female musicians, interested in picking up an instruments.
From the 1960 to 1990 is rock of the world but now millennial generations is different styles. But I still love rock music .Thank you show ya. Thank you Japan rock .
The year was 2002... I was 12 years old.... I went to a recording studio for the first time with my older brother. he was going to record drums that night. When I arrived at the studio there was a poster that covered the entire door. everything in Japanese, just the name SHOW YA was what I memorized. After many years, with the arrival of the internet I was able to discover and become fascinated by this band. ps: that night I asked the studio owner what band that was, he smiled and said it was the best band ever.
SHOW-YA "1990 BUDOKAN -REACH FOR THE WORLD-LIVE". Recorded on March 14, 1990 at the Japan Budokan, the highlight of the "REACH FOR THE WORLD’90" tour. FAIRY SHOW-YA is a Japanese Hard Rock Heavy Metal band with five female members. The band is a pioneer of Japanese girl metal bands composed entirely of women in the 1980s. The predecessor of the band was the band "Medusa" with vocalist Keiko Terada and keyboardist Miki Nakamura, which later changed its name to "SHOW-YA". In 1982, the band won the grand prize in the ladies' division of a all Japan band contest sponsored by YAMAHA. In 1985, they made their major label debut with Toshiba EMI Japan. Two songs from their seventh album "Outerlimits" released in 1987, their 8th single "Marginal Lovers" and 9th single " I Am a Stormy Woman " became consecutive hits, and the album sold over 600,000 copies, making them the most popular girl metal band in Japan at that time. The band went through member changes, breakups, and reunions, and is one of those rare bands where the original members are still active with a career spanning over 35 years. It is truly regrettable that SHOW-YA did not have the chance to sign a contract with a Western record company to release their works(CDs, DVD) in the global market during their young heyday. The Japanese popular music scene of various genres had a history of more than 60 years, almost the same as that of the West. However, from the 1970s to the present, Japanese musicians, no matter how talented, have not been given the opportunity to sign contracts that would take them to the world market, but only release contracts limited to the domestic Japanese market. many musical talents who shone in the 1980s had limited financial success and no recognition in the world. And now many of them have been old. SHOW-YA are... The raw emotion and energy of this Album is amazingly strong. Listening to the whole Album is a great experience. Show-ya would be been a big influence on Lovebites and Aldious.
The song is called 祈り / Inori (Prayer) and its from the 1989 album Outerlimits. A very sentimental song about going your own way in search of your dreams.

💕💕💕💕💕💕Love Keiko, is the Queen to Heavy Metal
You can tell Sun-Go had a big influence on Nemophila's Saki. There's a lot a young Sun-Go in Saki's stage presence.
No doubt! I see it too.
Miki “sun-go “ is a wonderful template to use I love her and SAKI both, two of my favorite guitarists ever!
