I've played multiplayer FPS wargames quite a lot before but never played this yet. I love watching these videos. What really impresses me about this game is the way it is structured to prioritise team discipline, co-operation and chain of command over individual autonomy.

My Bad I was playing Iced Earth High water mark because in all honesty it felt fantastic. Especially when I got the song synced up to the actual battle at certain parts, thinking about posting what I got. Glad you were there, it's a crying shame you didn't get to hear the Rebel yell on the right flank for 1st and second wave.
I wish I sticked around longer for this event. I left about 30 minutes in after being apart of the Union artillery for the barrage section, because I had to go.
Thank you. 36th Ohio plays often with IX Corps (9th NY, 51st PA, 28 MA and Clarks) so they fit in seamlessly. Those "rebs" are also really good and it was extremely cool of them to take on the role in that situation. If the event didn't call for them to only make head on charges, they'd have visibly performed much more effectively.
17:28 I don’t know if that was a ragdoll glitch or not but the imagination of that Confederate being wounded and twitching is for sure thought of for me when I see that. Dunno how to say this without sounding mental but I enjoy wounded ragdoll animations.

That was the largest cannon bombardment ever on American soil. Come to Gettysburg & do it for real 🙂 the battlefield is open. Thanks for sharing the fun video.
To this day, still the biggest artillery bombardment on the North American continent. But most of the salvos outshot their targets, completely missing the Union lines.
@@dannymiller3315 Yeah, because watching roundshot whizzing overhead and bouncing through a vacant field must have been fear-inducing. It's a good thing the Confeds didn't bring enough ammo to maintain the bombardment beyond 42mins, because that would have been a lot more wasted ammo.
This is actually very similar to Gettysburg. Very similar land, even has aoeCh orchard Wich I think was apples in Gettysburg but regardless very very similar. The orchards where some of the bloodiest parts during the campaign.
Was the Union infantry that embedded and that secure behind shields of wooden wall like that at Pickets charge at that point in time of battle? For I know this Gettysburg battlefield then they had earthworks of dirt and logs like area of culps hill and cemetery hill and important part to this battle and for the Union or armies of Potomac then
The Confederates attacked at a stone wall along the cemetery ridge. However, Gettysburg is not in War of Rights yet so I believed they used the Bloody Lane section of the Antietam battlefield for this reenactment.
HAY I WAS THERE!, i was with the 36th ohio, we commanded 2 of the guns, i was a runner delivering ammunition, and i also was fighting at the stone wall, and was charging at the end of the match
I just realised that the mechanics of "War of right" were stupid! Charles Ardant Du Picq a French theorist who participated in the Napoleonic campaign between 1850 and 1870 established that it was not possible to hold a line for more than 10 minutes with the weapons of his time! The most effective units according to him were the voltigeurs and the Zouaves because they had positions under cover, scattered and that they were more difficult to shoot and they destroyed the morale of a line! He noted that on the contrary the Austrian lines were easily broken with the fear that provoked the death of his neighbour on the line and the concentration of wounded near one! It is thus idiot to put bonnus in the formation of soldiers!!! I'm French, I hope that's understable

Fun fact about pickett's charge: Out of the 13 officers of Pickett's unit, 7 died and the other 6 were wounded during the charge.
