What you said around 15:00 of the ASOIAF books having an undead king is actually not true. The Night King is a show creation. In the books there is a story that Bran tells of "The Night's King" but he isn't the leader of the White Walkers, he was a Lord Commander of the Night's Watch long ago that married a White Walker woman. If there does end up being a king of the White Walkers, it isn't in the books yet.
As an addition, the Night's King is mentioned in A Storm of Swords, which was published in 1998. One could argue that Blizzard's first concept of "An Undead King" is the Skeleton King from Diablo, which released in 1997. There is of course no connection between him and The Lich King other than being both undead and a king, however. Entirely just me being a bit pedantic, but I love my big fantasy universes :)
@@tarkhan15 true, and the concept of an undead king far predates Game of Thrones anyway. Another popular literary example is the King of the Dead from Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
It's important to note that in the books, at least the published ones so far - we may never know what GRRM's intentions for the future of the books are, the Night King isn't this undead lord of an army of ghouls. There he is just a legendary figure from about 8000 years ago who betrayed the Night's Watch for his ice fairy wife and proclaimed himself king. And then died. Him being at the helm of the Others (aka White Walkers in the shows) first showed up in the show (so after Wrath). Could it be that GRRM intended for the Night King to lead the White Walkers like the Lich King does, before Wrath came out? Yes. Could it be that HBO writers were inspired by World of WarCraft? Yes.

As a DK main since Wrath, I will always be sad they went backwards with Runes instead of forward. On release, we had 2 Blood, 2 Frost, and 2 Unholy runes, with abilities requiring specific runes to use. A good while later, they started adding in ways to temporarily convert single runes to Death runes that could be used as any type, but only on that rune's next single use, then it would revert. Now, all runes are _always_ Death. I remember an abandoned concept that Runeforging wasn't going to just be Enchants, but rather a system that would allow the DK to _choose_ the combination of 6 runes they had. You could have 2 of each, or you could have all 6 Blood, or you could have 3 Frost and 3 Unholy, etc. It would've been so cool to have that kind of choice in gameplay, and it would be very similar to how DK is in Hearthstone now actually. I honestly, think the DK starting experience could use a bit of an overhaul, compared to the Demon Hunter. Also, I wish they'd done more with the Runeblade/Runeforging.
People now will never understand how bad ass death knights release was. So many long gone gameplay mechanics and talents. Seeing hordes of death knights wash over hellfire peninsula and high level players trying to gank them only to get killed by the absolutely broken death knights. Then if they did manage to kill any death knights they would come back as a ghoul after death with the now removed "Shadow of Death" talent.
It was not just op at first release... it was GM like. I think in 2v2, the only combo capable of dealing with 2 dks are 2 arcane mages that if silences DK before they pop anti magic shield, the mages would be able to 1 shot one of them and kite the ghoul(or you die in 3 hits.... they crit for 25% of your health bar and they have a jump(like a charge) ability), cc the other dk, and wait for cd to eventually 1 shot him. Why wait for cool down? If you let him get up, he 2 shots you. Rogue was the funniest class to play against DK as the Rune Strike at the time, deals about 50%~80% of rogue's hp bar, and it is similar to overpower where it ignores dodge... lol rogues was like fucking minions compared to DK.... This is from 2400 2v2 double mages, 2700 warlock shaman dk in that season.. It was so op that even discussing it is so much fun. The self healing, the mitigation and CC immunity, the resurrection that makes them nearly more powerful than a dk without long cds(runeblade etc. imagine killing an unkillable beast twice, only for it to be resurrected by his dk teamate again..), the damage, the weird yet op utilities(oh man, the DND initially would fear people every 2 seconds..) I remember being 1v2'd when playing as druid, druid/rogue fighting one dk when we had full cds, dk pops runeblade, our hp both drop by 30%~50% EVERY SECOND.. lol.. just hularious It was just too much joy for a few classes in PVP but straight out impossible for others. After the nerfs, DK became much more killable for some cleaves combo, but still a pain to deal with as caster comp.
The idea was this was the first "Heroic Class". Comparing to other "Minion Class", it had to be OP. But a bit too much that players just took it as a joke more than complaining.... lol.. this is probably one era that I felt more fun in wow since vanilla raiding and TBC overall experience.

"a large amount of legendarys in legion" oh really? cause i kept getting sephuez secret.... SEPHUEZ FUCKIN SECRET!
Love the series, I though I know a lot but turns out I know noffin'
23:35 *FEWER heals. "Less" is for unquantifiable objects.

i d9nt dread it at all
its actually kinda kick ass
And my favorite series aside from Villains Corner returns!! 🙏🏻
Blizz needs to give blood dk dual wielding. It could go nicely thematically - draw the blood of your enemies through a thousand of cuts
“United States Marine Corpse”
Oh boy. This is gonna be a long video…
Damn i miss dps blood.
Blood dks being able to solo raid content
The self healing, the mitigation and CC immunity, the resurrection that makes them nearly more powerful than a dk without long cds(runeblade etc. imagine killing an unkillable beast twice, only for it to be resurrected by his dk teamate again..), the damage, the weird yet op utilities(oh man, the DND initially would fear people every 2 seconds..) I remember being 1v2'd when playing as druid, druid/rogue fighting one dk when we had full cds, dk pops runeblade, our hp both drop by 30%~50% EVERY SECOND.. lol.. just hularious
It was just too much joy for a few classes in PVP but straight out impossible for others.
How about an episode on druids? lol
God I miss corpse explosion
did I miss something, I thought muradin was dead
I played frost dps and blood ghoul tank spec way back in the day
oh boy u massacred the name Zdzisław Beksinski 🤣
Dk best class
You pronounce Ebon as Eh-bawn despite it being pronounced in the game properly like a thousand times but you perfectly pronounce Jackmerius Tacktheritrix. You gotta be trolling your fans dawg.
United States Marine Corpse
The way he pronounced "Depeche" made me suffer, but not well.
theWOWlogs :V
I hope he never changes the name here. xD This is his OG channel.
You don't pronounce the "p" in "corps."
It is though?
Traditional IPA: kɔːps. 1 syllable: "KAWPS"
@@vasilszarek6248 He was referring specifically to the United States Marine Corps, so no... you do not pronounce the "p."
He said it that way on purpose. The video is about death knights. It's a pun
@@vasilszarek6248 in a military context, "corps" is pronounced as "core".
@@ericv738 Doubtful, but okay.
It's pronounced Marine "CORE" not "CORPSE".
Of course Death Knights were OP. It’s a HERO class! Exactly as in WC3. Making it on par with other classes is bullshit.
Anal nathrak, uthvas bethud, do che-ol di-enve!
This mf really said marine corpse 💩
My guy you're saying the word "scourge" wrong. Try saying it like "skuhj" instead of whatever it is you're doing.
God remember when WoW was for adults and not kids? Good times!
DKs* Bad English over there...
